Modeling Knitted Clothing | Two Minute Papers - Duration: 3:14.
Dear Fellow Scholars, this is Two Minute Papers with Károly Zsolnai-Fehér.
Not so long ago, we talked about a technique that enabled us to render stunningly high
quality cloth models in real-time.
It supported level of detail, self shadowing, and lots of other goodies that make computer
game developers, and of course, my humble self super happy.
And today, we're going to talk about a technique that is able to create these highly detailed
cloth geometries for our digital characters.
I have really fond memories of attending to the talk of the Oscar award winner Steve Marschner
on this paper a few years ago in Switzerland, and I remember being so spellbound by it that
I knew this was a day I will never forget.
I am sure you'll love it too.
In this piece of work, the goal is to create a digital garment model that is as detailed
and realistic as possible.
We start out with an input 3D geometry that shows the rough shape of the model, then,
we pick a knitting pattern of our choice.
After that, the points of this knitting pattern are moved so that they correctly fit this
3D geometry that we specified.
And now comes the coolest part!
What we created so far is an ad-hoc model that doesn't really look and behave like a
real piece of cloth.
To remedy this, a physics-based simulation is run that takes this ad-hoc model and the
output of this process will be a realistic rest shape for these yarn curves.
And here you can witness how the simulated forces pull the entire piece of garment together.
We start out with dreaming up a piece of cloth geometry, and this simulator gradually transforms
it into a real-world version of that.
This is a step that we call yarn-level relaxation.
Wow.
These final results not only look magnificent, but in a physical simulation, they also behave
like real garments.
It's such a joy to look at results like this.
Loving it.
Again, I would like to note that we're not talking about the visualization of the garment,
but creating a realistic piece of geometry.
The most obvious drawback of this technique is its computation time - it was run on a
very expensive system and still took several hours of number crunching to get this done.
However, I haven't seen an implementation of this on the graphics card yet, so if someone
can come up with an efficient way to do it, in an ideal case, we may be able to do this
in several minutes.
I also have to notify you about the fact that it is considered a crime not having a look
at the paper in the video description.
It does not suffice to say that it is well written, it is so brilliantly presented, it's
truly a one of kind work that everyone has to see.

Nikola Tesla is considered one of the most innovative and mysterious men who ever lived.
If Tesla hadn�t invented and researched everything he did in his time, our technology
today would be considerably worse.
But is there something more to Tesla?
Did he in fact have contact with Aliens as he publicly proclaimed?
He is one of the most amazing inventors our civilization has ever known his knowledge
and ideas went far and beyond what was known and accepted in his lifetime.
Tesla was a Genius, and his inventions and ideas had no boundaries.
Over a hundred years ago, during the first decade of the twentieth century, Tesla filed
a request to patent a peculiar aircraft, which he called �the world�s first flying saucer.�
The methods used in the design of the flying saucer matched the descriptions of those who
claimed to have seen a from the UFO inside: with a discoidal capacitor with sufficient
size to provide enough thrust to fly, while other small capacitors allowed to control
the direction of the flying saucer, to which he added a gyroscopic stabilization system
and a electric �drive� control.
Basically it is a incredibly well designed aircraft, one that we could actually manage
to build today.
Or have we already built it?
What happened to this invention?
Why are we not flying into space with Tesla�s incredible invention?
While the patent was granted, the UFO or rather called IFO as it had been identified by the
insatiable imagination of Tesla, had a drawback: since the aircraft did not include an energy
source of its own, it needed to be energized by the towers of wireless transmission, Tesla�s
sources of �free energy�.
The lack of funding led to the abandonment of the development of the towers, so, eventually
the ship also fell into darkness, and Tesla�s UFO or rather IFO was never made.
But hold on Never?
Actually don�t be so sure because the US Secret Service seized all patents belonging
to Tesla after his death �for reasons of national security.�
Now if Teslas ideas were insane as some had categorized them, why would the United States
secret Service seize the patents for reasons of National Security?
Hmmm lets think about it for a minute.
The ideas of ??the great Nikola Tesla are incredible and better yet, way ahead of its
time, many of his inventions, aimed at contributing towards world peace through free energy access,
but governments and financiers of the time, did not follow the progress of Tesla�s mind.
Years later, his groundbreaking models and technological projects were used by the Nazis
(not the way he had imagined it), and now numerous of his projects are held by the secret
service, far away from the eyes
of
the public.

This former CIA officer Col. Tony Shaffer said that the basics of President Trump�s
claim is very likely true.
He then said that these 3 words that�ll have Obama shaking in his boots.
Nothing has been the same since Trump tweeted that Obama wiretapped Trump tower and Shaffer
said that the �basic fundamental idea and claim is true.�

Trump was not physically wiretapped.
So let�s get away from that lie that the liberals keep on pushing the lie that Trump
wasn�t �wiretapped.� This is true.
Trump wasn�t wiretapped, but he was spied on using a different apparatus.
Shaffer then said that the leaks were political and you can tell:
�CLEARLY THEY WERE AFTER GOSSIP BECAUSE IT WAS POLITICAL,� SHAFFER SAID.
Shaffer then added that Trump�s references to the wiretapping have totally changed the
game!
This needs to be aired everywhere!

I'm Oli Davis, and I'll be replying to as many comments on this video as I can.

No, not the words of a generic Marvel supervillain, but the words of WWE's resident Monster
Among Men Braun Strowman.
This comes from a new video uploaded to WWE's YouTube channel of Braun Strowman's outdoor
workout, which shows him doing every day Monster Among Men things: dragging your deadly hammer
through the woods, chopping down a tree with an axe, and then beating
up nature and lifting its dead remains over your head.
The Braun video is so good, WWE should've used it on one of their actual televised shows.
The same can be said for making mid-card Wrestlemania match announcements.
Raw's interim General Manager - WWE's official Twitter account - has already announced
that the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal and the Cruiserweight Championship matches
will take place on the Wrestlemania pre-show.
And now the social media authority figure has revealed "ladders will be PRESENT"
in the Raw Tag Team Championship match this Sunday.
We all kind of guessed that already by the feud suddenly using ladders on this week's
Raw, but the announcement would've been a lot more exciting if made on the actual
show.
During that ladder beat down segment, Sheamus
was legitimately busted open when being struck by the vertical climbing apparatus.
WWE have uploaded a video of the Celtic Warrior receiving 15 stitches for the injury just
above his eye, but because of PG, it's all in independent art film black and
white.
To satisfy our rampant bloodlust, Sheamus has posted some graphic before and after photos
in full living ginger colour on his Instagram page, with the caption:
"Walking under a ladder is bad luck.
Turns out, running into one ain't so lucky either"
But was his injury worth it?
Not really according to the ratings, which while up to 3.292 million average viewers
from last week's disappointing 3.048 - is way down from last year's go-home show's
3.77 million.
That's almost half a million people who've just stopped watching since Wrestlemania 32.
Five years ago, on March 26th, 2012, the last Wrestlemania go-home show before Raw's three
hour format began, drew 4.44 million viewers.
The episode didn't fare much better in your Raw ratings, with 56% of you agreeing with
me at AvRAWge, while 26% of you thought it even worse at Poor.

I know what'll turn around WWE's fortunes - the return of former Divas champion and
Zack Ryder ball buster Eve Torres.
PWInsider are reporting that WWE is bringing in Torres to Orlando for Wrestlemania weekend,
most likely to appear at the AXXESS fan event.
However, there's also a possibility she's amongst the female stars from WWE's past
that the company have reportedly been contacting for "something big" at Wrestlemania - along
with the other heavily rumoured names Kelly Kelly, Lita, Victoria and Maria Kanellis.
With the Smackdown Women's Championship match being intentionally vague, having Alexa
Bliss defend her title against every available woman on the roster, it's been speculated
that these former WWE women could be surprise entrants - ones which if they are happening,
have also now been relegated to the pre-show.
