How to let you know...

That nobody establishes norms, except life.

That life without certain rules loses form.

That the form is not lost by opening ourselves.

That it is not forbidden to love, and that you can also hate.

That hate and love are affects.

That the wounds close over time, and that the doors should never close.

That to define ourselves is not to row against the current.

That finding a balance doesn't mean being indifferent.

That denying words implies opening distances.

That finding oneself is very beautiful.

That it never hurts to be grateful.

That to give, first, we must receive.

That in order to receive, you have to know how to ask

That to ask for is not to give yourself away.

That in order to be loved we must show who we are.

That for someone to be himself you have to help him.

That helping someone is being able to encourage and support him.

That flattering someone is not to support him,

That when there is no pleasure in things, you are not living

That you can be dead while alive.

That we feel with the body and with the mind.

That it costs us to be sensitive and not get hurt

That to avoid getting hurt we raise walls

And that who sows walls, doesn't harvest anything

And that almost everybody is a bricklayer of walls

That it would be better to build bridges,

because over them we can go to the other shore,

and also return.

That returning doesn't imply going back.

That when we give a step back, we can also improve.

How to let you know that nobody sets limitations, except yourself!

5 Top Mistakes People Make When They Are Buying a House Video 2 - Duration: 24:38.

- Hi, welcome back to 5 Top Mistakes People Make

When Buying a House video two.

If you didn't watch the first video,

just a quick recap on me.

I'm not in the industry,

but I've got a lot of experience

and I'm keen to share it with you.

Second, I'm a passionate writer, blogger and trainer.

I have written and published three books,

and this is obviously the latest one,

Buying a House - Using Real Estate Apps,

Maps and Location Based Services

is also available on Amazon.com, as is 5 Top Mistakes.

I also wrote a lot of white papers and training courses.

If you want to know more about me,

check me out on LinkedIn, just search for my name.

I owned and ran a training company.

I delivered training courses for organizations of all sizes

and industry sectors in various countries around the world.

I ran courses for small companies

and owner operators through to national

telecommunications providers, tourist companies,

the entire management team of a casino

and even managers of a very large

international rail company.

I am a public speaker and I've spoken at

and chaired conferences in many countries around the world

on a variety of topics,

particularly around location-based services,

also, using mobile devices for business, social and fun.

If buying a house isn't about location,

I don't know what is!

As a child and then a teenager,

I went through some tough times,

and I determined that whatever I did in life,

I wanted to help people.

This free video, from the book, is an example of this.

I've got a blog for my business, SoLoMo Consulting Ltd,

which is short for Social, Location and Mobile,

and it focuses on location-based services

including real estate.

You'll also find relevant topics on my Facebook page,

under the name of SoLoMo Consulting.

I'm experienced in research

and gleaning out the things you need to know.

I find patterns and information that you don't

necessarily even associate with,

which is why I think you'll find these free videos useful.

I'm not a real estate agent, I'm not a mortgage broker

and the information you'll find here

is a mixture of personal experience and research.

I've made mistakes

and I've learned from other people's mistakes.

I hope you'll find these videos help you,

whether you're a first home buyer or buying your next house.

OK, let's do this.

These videos are going to offer you insights into things

that can go wrong

and give you some ideas of things to look out for.

Rushing ahead here.

You've heard it many times before,

getting into the property market is probably going to be

the biggest investment that you make in your life.

It's getting onto the property ladder

which is the hardest step.

Yet, many of us, unless we've got a family member

or someone that could help us with assisting with finance,

many have wondered whether we'd ever be able

to get the deposit together.

I'm not going to cover that topic here

as there are countless great sites from banks

and mortgage brokers with that sort of information.

A common topic of conversation these days

is that buying your first home is harder than ever

and for some people, it's perceived to be a lost cause.

I don't believe that, but I'm not saying it's easy either.

Many people have doubts that they'll ever

going to own a home.

In some cases, this becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy,

as they spend their money that could have gone

towards a deposit, on other things, like overseas travel,

expensive cars, night life and consumer electronics.

The argument is if I'm not going to be able to afford

it anyway, I might as well enjoy myself.

Does that sound familiar?

I'm here to tell you that is not true.

If you really want to own a home, you can.

But you have to really want to.

I always wanted a Corvette,

but I waited until I was in my late 50's to get one

and that was after I got cancer

and told myself that you only live once,

but that's another story.

I'm fine now by the way.

I made sure that I had my security

and my family well sorted first.

If I'd bought all the cool things

I thought I wanted first,

I'd probably still be paying my rent

through to the nose today.

The banks are far more likely to give you a big loan

when they know that you have a long life ahead of you

to pay for it.

So we make emotional decisions.

We make impetuous decisions.

We make decisions that make us feel good in the short term.

That's human nature.

The consequences come later

and often they're proportional

to the amount of money we spend.

A mistake buying a lounge suite

that falls apart after two years

or a bed that looked and felt good in the shop,

but the mattress sagged after 18 months,

isn't a big deal to a lot of people.

At least not a year or two after the money's been spent.

We've all done that, right?

How about that awesome new car that you bought

on no deposit finance

and it devalued by 20% the moment you drove it

out of the showroom all shiny and sparkly.

And then you suddenly needed some money urgently,

but you owed the finance company

more than the car was worth.

Tell me that hasn't happened to you or someone you know.

Do we like the color?

What is the kitchen like?

Where would our furniture look good?

How's the master bedroom?

Where would we put the nursery?

There are so many factors involved in buying a house

and these are the least important in the beginning,

although human nature says

that's what we mostly focus on.

I've asked lots of people

and they told me that's pretty much what they did.

That's 'cause these things affect

the pleasure centers in our brain,

which produces feel-good chemicals that get us excited.

These chemicals are closely related to the chemicals

that can cause addiction.

They're important, but the feeling that you get

when you think, "This house is the one, I love it",

it needs to be balanced with practical information.

If it isn't, then it can hinder our decision making.

The real estate agent understands this and feeds on it.

They're trained in many ways of doing this, you aren't.

That's why I am so committed to countering that factor,

so that you as a buyer can find the balance

between passion and logic.

Think about that when you're looking

at properties with an agent.

It's like playing Texas Holdem Poker.

People can have fun and probably lose money

or they can pay attention,

study the other people at the table and what they're doing.

Any poker coach will tell you that the way to make money

on the table is by inducing their opponent,

to make a rash or incorrect decision.

I'm not suggesting a real estate agent

is trying to influence you into making a bad decision, but

many a real estate agent's aim

is to try to get the buyer to make a quick,

possibly rushed decision,

putting pressure on where they can.

If they can get you to sign a contract,

you can become legally bound to it, if you're not careful.

They might press for a time-based decision,

telling you that the vendor says, "Sell now!"

because they've already bought their new house.

Or they'll tell you that there are other people

who have also shown an interest.

So if you are interested,

you could always put in a conditional contract

or suffer from FOMO or fear of missing out.

That can be very a powerful emotion.

Of course, they're saying it to everyone,

but it adds to the stress if you see a property

that you like on sight, but you don't know much about it.

You probably need to view more properties

before you do anything.

Therefore, it's good to have done some of your homework,

before the agent shows you the house.

Buying a house is part of a life sequence.

It's like getting on the first rung of a ladder.

The first house is exactly that, the first house.

It's a stepping stone to what you really

want to own one day.

Don't think of it as the be all and end all.

It's a foot in the door.

Do you want to take a step inside?

That first rung has a huge impact

on how long it will take

before you can climb up to the next one.

My wife and I sort of understood that,

but we were so focused on getting on the rung,

that we didn't really think about the quality of the ladder.

We thought about it in terms of our immediate needs.

We were starting a family, we wanted enough space,

and to have some security to build on.

When we bought our first house,

we didn't think about the property,

what it would be worth if we had to sell it

in a hurry for some reason.

And if we did, would we lose a lot of money?

Many people, especially in the US,

have walked out of their homes with nothing in recent years

or with debt, and no asset.

Many of these instances were of course after the last GFC.

Well, when I looked at some of the properties in the States

when we we're over there on holiday last,

I felt like buying one just cause they were so much cheaper

than they are here in New Zealand.

So, our first house wasn't super easy to sell.

Our hottest potential buyer was so keen,

he brought a spirit level with him,

to see how flat the land was

because he planned to grow loads of vegetables

for the Chinese takeout restaurant

that he'd been working at for the last five years.

He loved it and we thought we were sorted.

It turned out that part of his pay was allocated to room

and board, by his boss.

The owner of the business took advantage of him

wanting to leave China for a better life,

was illegally paying him

and his wife less than minimum wage.

His boss was depositing some money

into a savings account

and they gave them some spending money, food and board.

He wasn't earning enough to make the repayments,

even though he'd saved enough for the deposit

over several years.

Back then, you didn't need as much

of a deposit as you do today.

Given that he had made an offer conditional on finance,

our other potential buyers had already moved on.

Our agent didn't tell us to include a cash-out clause

in the contract,

which would have let us sell it to someone else

if we've got an offer that wasn't conditional on finance.

And we learned that one for the future.

He and we were devastated when the bank

turned him down for a home loan.

My wife and I came from families where our parents didn't

own homes and they couldn't help us financially.

I remember visiting the Blockhouse Bay Bowling Club

in Auckland, New Zealand,

where we were going to get married.

We chose it because we could afford it there

and it helped that my father-in-law

was president of the club at the time,

so we got a good deal on the venue and catering.

After a preparation meal with the caterers,

I was having a beer in the bar in the bowling club

and an oldish gentleman came to my table

and asked if he could have chat.

He was a sporting friend of my father-in-law

and I welcomed him to a seat.

He said that he heard we were getting married

and wanted to wish us good luck

and give us a little bit of advice.

He told us he had four children

and he had given each of them enough money

to pay the deposit on a house as a wedding present.

He impressed on them that this was going to set them

on a path for a successful life, with financial security,

because your own property is about the only secure thing

of value in your life

and probably the only thing that would always increase

in value, at least over time.

He said that they'd all gone on to raise families

and get good jobs without the pressure

of worrying about how to get started.

I thanked him for his advice,

thinking to myself how lucky his children were,

and feeling a little bit envious of them.

If only we had parents that could afford to do that.

My parents didn't have money sense.

They were focused on building a large ketch,

which they lived in for many years.

They only ever owned a house once, for about three months,

and now have nothing,

not even the ketch that we all invested in and helped build.

My in-laws were hard workers, but in raising a large family,

they were too busy feeding and clothing them,

paying the school fees, subscription

and kit for their sports,

to ever be able to consider buying a house.

They were finally able to buy a small unit

through inheritance after they retired, which was great.

But for many years,

they had no security in terms of a single valuable asset.

When I first went over to my in-law's house

for a meet the family dinner,

I volunteered to help with the dishes.

My future wife had me drying plastic bags

she had washed along with the plates and cutlery,

so they could reuse them.

Nothing wrong with that,

but it showed how frugal her parents had had to be,

to raise a large family.

There was no way either set of our parents

would be able to help us secure a deposit,

so we had to scrimp and save every penny for a few years.

That cramped our social life,

as our friends continued to go to out for dinner and drinks,

shows, sporting events, trips,

and we grew distant from them for a time.

Fortunately, our family was close.

We found ways to entertain ourselves playing games,

watching rugby on TV, and enjoying each other's company,

rather than buying things.

I remember the envy of friends going to the Pacific Islands,

to the United States and Europe,

and one instance where a friend bought a Plasma TV

which cost a small fortune at the time.

Ours was a 22 inch rental.

People buying their second and third house

still make mistakes, despite the cost and risks,

because they've probably not given research much thought.

No one taught them the things

that I'm telling you about here.

Chances are in their excitement

and trepidation of moving up and out,

they'll have forgotten many of the things

they wished they had done differently first time around

and the previous time over even.

We have a brain mechanism that helps us

forget some painful mistakes, memories.

It's the pleasure center in the brain, again,

when we see the new shiny features

of the next house that we're look at.

Why do we do make mistakes?

For one, we're human,

and secondly, because no one teaches us how to do it right.

That's why I'm sharing this video with you.

Everyone has a barrow to push

and the information they give you

will be based on their own unique opinion.

Your friends and colleagues have opinions.

Your family has opinions.

The real estate agent and vendor have their perspective.

That doesn't mean they're wrong,

but there is a bigger picture.

If it all goes pear shaped,

they're not going to bail you out.

You can't take their opinions to the bank.

These videos are giving you a chance

to do what 99.9% of people don't do, get prepared.

I'd have congratulate you for making the effort

to watch this video.

It might be free,

that doesn't mean it isn't going to be valuable to you.

Before I get into the 5 Top Mistakes,

I'd like to share a little more with you

that I think you need to know.

And here.

Understanding real estate agents.

Now this is a generalization.

Real estates are looking for a quick and easy sale.

Don't for a minute think that they are there 100%

with your interests in mind,

even if they're trying to make you feel that way,

unless you're employing them as a buyer's agent.

That's a different story.

They are there for the vendor.

There's nothing wrong with that, it's their job.

They are there to get the best possible deal

for their customer who is paying

a serious sum of money to them for selling their house.

In many cases, it's a percentage,

so the more that they can get you to pay,

the more money they earn.

Often, they have to share that commission with their agency

and perhaps a listing agent if they didn't

originally sign up the vendor,

so getting the most money out of you that they can,

is in their best interests.

Just listen to the sorts of things

they're telling you as they put the pressure on.

Things like, "This house will probably go quickly.

"We've had lots of inquiries.

"If you're interested you should consider

"making an offer, now!

"This is a bargain, it'll get snapped up.

"This house is going up for auction this weekend.

"You could be on a winner if you act quickly.

"This house is going up for auction this weekend,

"but they're open to pre-auction offers.

"You could avoid the stress and pressure and get it now.

"The vendor has already bought

"and they want a quick sale.

"Why not test the water with an offer?

"I can set up some paperwork for you now, if you like."

But you're getting into a contractual situation

and if you are not careful,

you could find that you've contracted to buy the house

if they accept the offer.

Most agents should explain the implications to you,

in fact, in many cases they legally are required to,

but like any profession,

they come in all shapes and sizes, so to speak.

"You'd kick yourself if you missed out on this place,

"just look at that living space,

"that room you loved as the nursery, the view,

"the security system".

Alarms, alarm bells might ring on that one.

Why did they feel they needed one?

There are of course exceptions.

I've met and know some great real estate agents.

The smart ones know that if they really look after you

and find a win-win situation for you and the vendor,

you might recommend them

and might even use them again yourself.

If you're looking in a specific suburb or neighborhood,

head on over to the community Facebook page

for that area, the one with the most followers.

There'll probably be more than one page

for the suburb or town.

Then ask if anyone can recommend a real estate agent

that will look after the buyer, or maybe a buyer's agent.

Hopefully you'll get some useful leads.

Treat replies from agents themselves with a grain of salt.

Ask for testimonials from buyers, not vendors

and make sure that people giving you word of mouth referrals

aren't related to the agent.

It's interesting and understandable that people

will support their family, but they should disclose that.

Seriously!

I once had tenants who had glowing references

when I rang their previous landlord, I was so excited!

They didn't tell me that the previous landlord

was also their brother

or that they were often late in paying their rent,

which might have had something to do with why

they were having to move out.

The experience, maybe another book one day,

convinced me to sell the house and not be a landlord again.

We bought our first house in a nappy valley area.

It was a low-income suburb with lots of young families.

Many of them lived on social welfare benefits.

We'd bought in the established part,

the right side of the railway track,

so to speak, more or less.

It was a two-and-a-half-bedroom house

on a big quarter-acre section.

We were planning on having kids

and the house seemed big enough.

The section was perfect for little kids to play on

and for our German shepherd,

except that the property wasn't fully fenced.

We didn't want her getting lost

in the massive fruit orchard behind us.

Wow, were we surprised how expensive timber was!

Even though we had a friend in the timber industry

who sold the wood for the fence to us at wholesale,

it was expensive.

Then there was the concrete, rental of a concrete mixer,

posthole borer, purchasing fasteners and tools.

A quarter acre is a lot of fence

and neither of the neighbors wanted to share in the cost

or lend a hand.

Fortunately, we had plenty of relatives

and friends to help us build it.

My wife and I had good jobs,

and I had personal use of a company car

which was a big help.

I can tell you though, that the quality

and activities of our social life

diminished for a few years,

as all our money went into paying the mortgage,

which at that time, was at a whopping 18%

and it went up to 21% for a whole year!

Think about it.

That meant that we had to pay the bank

the entire purchase price of the house in interest

over five years without touching the principal

that we had borrowed.

That's my response to people who say

how much easier it was back in the day.

We didn't touch the principle of the loan

for the first few years

and that meant a lot of time at home,

as we couldn't afford to go out.

Fortunately, we made some good friends amongst our neighbors

who were in the same boat,

so we were able to develop a social life

that didn't involve spending a lot of money.

A sales feature!

The property backed onto a fruit orchard,

as you saw on the previous slide,

where I was building the fence!

We envisaged that our not yet born children

would be playing in it, picking a few apples as they went.

It seemed like there were trees for miles

and it was awesome to know that there were no neighbors

on that side.

It made the property seem so much bigger.

It turned out we were just about the only ones at the time

who didn't know that the orchard

was being sold to the government,

to make way for high density state housing,

for people who couldn't afford to rent a home

on the commercial market.

We didn't know because we didn't know

to ask the right questions.

Legally, if we had asked the real estate agent,

they would have had to tell us,

but they didn't have to tell us

anything that we didn't ask about.

As soon as the orchard was demolished,

property prices on our street went down,

and that was only a year after we moved in.

This is what it looks like now.

It's not bad, but its no orchard.

So what are the five top mistakes that people make?

First one is they focus too much

on the cool features of the house and the property.

Two, they can be led on by the real estate agent

who is trained in the art of selling.

You have not been trained in the art of buying, yet.

That's what I'm here for.

Three, they don't research the area.

We often move to a suburb, city or state

that we don't know a lot about.

And then there's the neighborhood

that has its own unique characteristics.

Four, they usually see the property at its best,

often in summer when the weather is nice

and frequently people will let their emotions

over-rule research, logic and common sense.

They are then easily blinded by the light

of subtle pressure from real estate agents.

Five is a biggie.

Not allowing enough money in the loan

and the budget for additional invisible or unexpected costs.

The price of the house

and the cost of ownership are not the same thing.

Let's investigate each of those

a bit more in the coming videos.

In the first video, I promised to tell you

about getting burgled.

This is the prologue of my previous book.

Thump!

It's 2 a.m. and I leap out of bed,

grab the Fijian skull crusher club,

that I got as a souvenir when I went to Fiji,

from under the bed,

ready to deal with an intruder in the house.

I raced into my three year old daughter's

bedroom next to ours, adrenaline pumping through my veins.

I vaguely see something on the floor.

My heart tries to beat its way out of my chest

and I'm angry.

I step further in the room

and the person crouching on the floor sits up.

It's my daughter who had fallen out of the bed in her sleep.

Flashback, six weeks earlier.

I glance out of my kitchen window.

It's around 6 p.m. on a workday evening

and I see a darkly clad body

and legs disappear across the fence

into my neighbor's property.

Then, gliding like a parkour artist,

another body clad in jeans

and a dark hoodie races across my dream

Kiwi quarter acre section,

and hand holding onto top of my two meter wooden fence,

leaps over, disappearing into the night.

Five weeks earlier.

I'm about to mow the lawn

and I see a couple of plastic bags on the grass.

They have brown lumps of goo in them

that smell like a strong adhesive.

I know where they've come from.

One of the family members of 10 children,

whose parents live next door,

has joined a couple of his gang member brothers in jail

and the grandparents are babysitting the teenage kids.

The kids are into huffing, getting high by sniffing glue,

holding the plastic bags to their noses to get high.

I've been throwing the bags back over the fence.

Four weeks ago, earlier.

I collect the latest neighborly gift of glue bags

and go next door to speak to the family about them.

I assume the grandparents don't know about the huffing.

I don't want to do this!

It's a bit scary, but I can't risk my one

and three year old daughters playing in the garden,

and finding the glue bags.

At first, the kids who open the door

tell me their grandmother isn't home.

They give me the evil eye as she comes to the door

and asks what I want.

I explain who I am and what the situation is.

She listens, thanks me, reluctantly,

for letting her know and shuts the door.

Three weeks earlier.

Every second night or so, just as we're getting to sleep,

the window of our neighbor's house directly over the fence,

facing our bedroom window, opens,

and up starts All Along The Watchtower by Jimi Hendrix

at full bore.

In between tracks,

we hear loud remarks that are full of racist expletives,

which I don't need to share here.

Two weeks earlier.

We came home on a Sunday evening

after a nice roast dinner with my in-laws

and sense something isn't right.

Our German shepherd who we left inside

hasn't come to the door to meet us.

I look around and find her cowering

in the corner of our bedroom.

The room has been trashed and what was left behind

is covered in broken glass from a smashed window.

They didn't get much.

We suspect that we disturbed them when we came home

and they scarpered.

We call the police,

who say they can't come until the next morning.

We feel violated.

I take the next couple of days off work,

buy a security alarm kit with lots of sensors

for the doors and windows,

and a very loud alarm which we test several times,

mostly to warn anyone, who might think to come back

and finish what they started, that the stakes have gone up.

The police told us that, quite often,

the burglars are people that live in the neighborhood

and they can see when you come and go.

Our happy home isn't a happy home any more.

In the next video,

we're going to look at features of the house.

So I hope you'll come back, follow the link on this video,

or where you found this video

and check it out and come on back.

People People People. Are you living or are you just existing? Are you complaining

or are you conquering? Are you going to trimble or are you going to allow your emotions to clash?

I tell you what, It makes no difference right now because you're tuned into Derrick Cash's podcast. Good evening, Good morning

Good afternoon, wherever you find yourself in life. It is February 20,

2019

I am Derrick Cash, your host of the episode number 16

Entitled "The Good Work That I Have

I Don't Even Own" I'm gonna say it one more time

Today's episode title is called "The Good Work That I Have

I

Don't Even Own

It's Episode Number 16 and this Episode is also brought to you by three songs that are available in the digital market

And guess what? I wrote these songs and recorded these songs and John Henry produced all of the songs

The songs are entitled "Is it?"

"Get Home" and "Deliver Me" one more time

"Is it?" "Get Home" and "Deliver Me?"

You can find those songs, wherever you buy your digital music...Tidal, Spotify, Apple Music, iTunes, Amazon

Wherever you find it go ahead and make sure you stream or purchase that copy. Alright, okay without any further ado

Let's get to the message today

One time in I met a young lady and she

told me that if she was given the choices of

choosing chaos or peace

She would always choose chaos

Some of you all are looking at that example and saying why would she ever do that? But she

Implemented a truth that was hers that day and told me that at least when I pick chaos

I pick something that is familiar to me. Beloved, I've come to talk to you today

concerning the subject of good works and how anxious

Stubborn sometimes

skeptical and

Apprehensive people don't want to bask in the beauty of good works. I'm gonna say that one more time

Sometimes when we are going through life, we find that good things are happening to us

We find that our friends are on our side. They're not being disloyal. We find that our kids are behaving

well

we find that our spouse is writing sweet notes to us and things are going well and

sometimes the direct action that we want to take because of all these good things that are happening is

What can I do to mess these things up?

How can I put my chaos in the pot so that it balances out all of these good things?

Do you know anybody that

I'm talking about? I don't know if it's a sister or cousin or a boyfriend or auntie or an uncle

Somebody that when everything is going well

when the direct response should be

Continue to do what you have to do on the positive side

They find it in their heart to do what they have to do to mess it all up

If you don't know anybody like that, I can testify myself if you ever want to mess something up...

Pick your boy D Cash :) I

Tell you I'm Goofy, I'm silly

I'm just I'm the one that's gonna mess some things up

You know, I'm awkward sometimes, you know, if you want some things to be messed up stuff. Go ahead and holla at your boy

I don't know. Why is it that we find

chaotic situations and we find things that are

Mismanaged and just out of order

We find that to be our peace and you know what I want to bring it to today

There is somebody that I'm speaking to right now things are going well in your life

You have the job you have the woman or the man you have the car. You have the house you have

Everything that they tell us is supposed to represent the wonderful life

but something is going on in your head and it's a seed of

Skepticism. It's a seed of apprehension. It's a seed of

I don't know about all of this

Because if the truth were to really be told when you were growing up in your life in your adolescent life or your childhood

Whatever it was you found comfort in chaos

You found comfort in

Disorder and disarray you found comfort in the things that were the opposite of good

So when some good stuff finally starts to happen in your life you say what is this?

well

I'm in the same predicament you are I'm not going to go into the same or the exact example

But I will tell you I've got some things that are going on that are just too good to be true

I got some things that are going on that I don't deserve and I'm looking around and I'm like

God are you sure that you gave it to the right person?

And so I start thinking come on real people with me when you start getting good things

You start looking over your shoulder and trying to figure out how can I keep this up?

Oh, come on now. I'm not that smart. I'm not that cute. I'm not that fast. I'm not that quick

I can't jump that high. I can't write that well. I can't do all of those things

So I know that there's some favor going on in my life, but how can I keep this up?

That is the case today. We have to figure out how do we approach these things when we know we don't deserve these things

but

Something keeps giving it to us. How can we get assurance and peace of mind as we go forward in this life?

Well, I have not only

Found an answer. I think I have found the answer for this season

so what I want you all to do I want you to look I want you to look at this screen for those who are

hearing this on my

Podcast channel. I am bringing up the Word of God. Yes. I am. So here we go. I'm going to talk

You

So those that are looking at me on my youtube channel, you know

You got to plug all the platforms that you have can see me

so here we go for those who didn't read Philippians Chapter 1 Verse 6

Essentially what he said Paul was saying I am

Certain that he who began a good work in you

Will continue it until it is finished. I know you're looking at me saying what are you talking about Derrick?

What are you talking about? Why are you bringing up an example that happened over 2,000 years ago?

Why are you bringing up an example that was going on in the church? How can I even apply it to my life?

I'm glad you asked first of all

What he was talking about was the good work that was going on in the life of the new Christians that were

converted at Philippi the church at Philippi

And so what he was saying was?

Look, I know you're trying to do your best and I know some trials may be coming, but guess what?

I am still certain that he who began a good work in you can we stay right there?

He who began a good work in you for those who didn't catch it. I'm gonna say it one more time to you

He who began a good work in you!

Oftentimes we feel as though that the good works that we're witnessing. We began

Nobody heard me on that

So I gotta say it one more time

often times when we find that we got the job when we find that we got the car when we find that we

finally got us the husband or the wife that we wanted we

Finally got that relationship

We thought we had something to do with it. Ah

We thought we began it. We thought we were high and mighty we thought we were talented

We thought we were strong enough to do what we thought that we said all the right things and we met all the right people

but I am

Reminded you know what but maybe the thing is the good works that are occurring in my life

Have I almost stopped to think that it ain't got nothing to do with me

Because I didn't begin it

Somebody needs to hear me right now. Oh

Don't think you're so tough

Don't think you're so mighty all because if you were so mighty

You would have created it yourself if you were so mighty there would have been no supernatural

Power to be involved in what you're doing

I came to tell somebody right now

The reason we know that we didn't create what we're doing in the good work that we're going through is first of all

We didn't create ourselves

I hope I don't get too deep on this podcast episode

We didn't create ourselves

So how do we think that we created the good works that ourselves are witnessing now? Hmm

first of all

We understand that we didn't create it

God created and some of you all are gonna jump off the boat right now

Some of you all are gonna turn the YouTube channel upside down

some of you all are gonna keep scrolling on Facebook right now, but if you don't understand this one principle, I'm sorry, you'll never

Understand the peace that you can have by dwelling on this scripture

First of all, you didn't began what you're going through. You didn't begin that good work

You want me to tell you who did begin it? It has to be someone that

specializes in the beginning who

Specializes in forming and fashioning. It has to be somebody who specializes

Forming the earth Hallelujah who

Specializes forming the seas and the birds of the air and the animals on the ground. It has to be somebody who

specializes in

Beginning...When was the last time you specialized in beginning

I'm talking about creating a whole world that did not exist

Don't tell me that humans were made from chimpanzees because if chimpanzees sprouted out humans

Why do we still have

Chimpanzees that's another time for another message..I came to tell somebody that God specializes in beginning

He

specializes in beginning and we draw parallels

Because the good works that are going on today and the good works that are going on that we're going on the Church of Philippi

They wouldn't have any of those good works back then and we wouldn't have any of these good works back right now in

2019 if he didn't already declare good works from the foundations of the creation

I'm talking about when you read Genesis

You understand that after he was created after he was beginning some things it is then where he called it good

He called it good after he created meaning he did something that no one else could do

so first of all when I'm trying to draw parallels

I need you to understand that in the text when it talks about I am certain that he who began a good work in you

We know that he which is God

we know that he has created good works with us within us because he

specializes from the beginning of time of

creating good works period

So here's the thing that I got excited about was okay

I know I got these good things around me. And I know I'm up to 2:00 a.m. And 3:00 a.m. And 4:00 a.m

Trying to strategize and trying to figure out oh my goodness

Am I gonna keep these things? Is the money gonna come in this month? Are the relationships gonna be met? Is my networking

schedule going to be on point this month? Because I got to continue to keep this good work

But God reminded me first of all, stop putting so much pressure on yourself

Stop thinking that is all up to you. First of all, like you said before you didn't begin any of this

I began this

I'm the one who began a good work in you and so I wish somebody would grab hold of that

That would cause you to not lose sleep every night that will cause you to stop having nervous breakdowns

And panic attacks because you're just putting so much pressure and you're putting so much drama on your life

Realize that come on now take a breath

Step back a little bit

Realize who's in this thing? I'm thankful that I don't have to go through this life alone. I can understand

First of all it is he who was he who is and he who is to come

Helping me standing right beside me. He who

Began a good work in you somebody say it right now. I didn't begin any of this

It was God who created everything that I'm witnessing

And so guess what here's and I'm going to get out of your hair right now. Here is the thing that really

Just gave me fuel to get this video out right now

not only does God say through the vessel Paul that

he who began a good work in you I

Am certain that he will continue it to the end. He will finalize it

He will ensure that it is completed in other words

first of all, yeah

you you are the vessel you are the conduit that the blessing is coming through and that the purpose is coming through and that all of these things that are these good works are coming through but the text says that even in Philippi even in those times

Even in church matters even in godly living and Christian walks and all of that

I know God was having his way and ensuring that that would be those good works would continue to the end

but I just really see the

Revelation that I can apply it not only to that but to my life today and if I can put apply it to my life

You can too. So here's the thing and I'll leave you not only did you not begin it

Ultimately, you don't have to continue it

Come on now

Now here's where people might start looking crazy because they're saying well Derrick, you're over here talking about I don't have to do any work

I can just sit back fat dumb and happy and all of these wonderful things in my life are going to occur

Not so I'm just trying to put some perspective into your mind when all those things start going

Rough-and-tough figure out and make it in your mind that please understand that I didn't begin it

and I

I don't have the burden of continuing it now

I have the burden of being in place in doing what God has me to do and in

Searching after him and trying to figure out the next step but the ultimate responsibility

The ultimate responsibility is God. First of all, some people would say, you know, this this battle is not mine

It's the Lord's. I agree to and I draw parallels to that as well

He is going to continue this thing. Whatever your good work is

I don't know what the good work is in your life

But he is going to continue this thing until it is completed

He is going to do this thing until it is completed. We can read so many times in the Old Testament

Whereby when God said that something was going to happen when God said that he was going to do something

He had no choice but to do it when he was bestowing blessings on people and curses on people

He had to ensure that those things would finalize that those things would

manifests like a college professor would tell me back in the day in Atlanta, Georgia at Morehouse College

He would say, you know what what we just learned you can take that to the bank and cash it

He used to say that all the time and so what I'm trying to tell you right now is whatever the good work that God

Has deposited in you whatever good work that he is flowing his blessing through you, It's not your idea

It's the idea that you that you learned from God

It's not your business plan is a plan that God breathed into you. It's not your spouse

It's the spouse that God brought into your midst and combined you all together and holy matrimony

It's not your children, but it's the children that God had already

Fashioned before the children were in the mother's womb. God has always began this thing

He's always began the good work and he's going to continue

the good work

Until it's completed

Where are you?

sister or brother President, CEO

Ditch-digger, painter, artist... I don't know what you're doing. Where are you? Who's thinking that you got to do this by yourself?

All you better get in the presence of God. You better understand who's really

Driving the car who's really in the driver's seat

Jesus is taking the wheel and you know what we're here to listen and to do what he says do

So look as I leave you today

With this episode. I want to say first of all, thank you for your time

Thank you for your attention and I just want you to know your good works. You don't even own them

You don't own them. I don't own them. So guess what? And if I realize that I don't own it

I don't have to put so much pressure on me to

Continue to do it. I'm telling you all. There are people that

Unfortunately commit suicide because they feel so under pressure

They feel like they don't have anywhere to turn to they feel like I got all this responsibility

I'm taking on all this responsibility

Nobody's helping me out. I'm going through this. I'm the last one to go to bed. And I'm the first one to wake up

I got all these responsibilities people are looking at me people are

Outside and looking into my environment and they're saying oh man. Why did he do this this way?

Why does she do this this way? If

She was me and I if I was her I would do things a different way a whole lot of Monday morning quarterbacking

But God is trying to tell me to tell you take some of that pressure off of you

Yeah, yeah take some of that pressure off of you

I'm not saying that you don't have to do the work you have to do the work

But guess what? Please understand that God is gonna continue to work with you. I'll say it one more time

You have to do the work

But God is going to continue to work with you

Yes, because he's in the business of not only beginning good works

Beginning good works, but also carrying those big works/good works some translations

Don't say he will continue with some translations say he will carry that thing

I wish that you would get in your mind a representation of God

carrying that thing I'm talking about when times get low when times are just

Desolate when you want to choose all those chaotic times because you don't see any good insight and you don't want any peace of mind

See God carrying that thing that he promised

Yeah

you got to make sure that you're in place to show up, but he's gonna carry it and you got to

continue to pray and get in his face and

See and ensure that this thing continues to go as planned. He's gonna do his job now

It's just time to do ours. Alright, alright just as a recap

Just wanted to let you know just like Paul told the church at Philippi. I

Am certain that he who began a good work in you will

Continue will carry it and so it is finalized until it is completed

During the day of Jesus Christ. We talk about the day of Jesus Christ...has day of Jesus Christ occurred yet?

To me when it says the day of Jesus Christ he's talking about when when Jesus Christ comes back and

That has not happened yet

so to me what that said what that lets me know is

That's a long time meaning is whatever he told you before or whatever. He's telling you now, he just

He's in the business of carrying that thing a long time

I don't care how long you think it's gonna take. He's in the business of continuing that thing for a long time

Whoever is it is who I'm supposed to talk to tonight with this video. I hope that you be encouraged

I hope that you find hope I hope that you ensure that God is going to be

Continuing to drive this ship this this this car, you know, get out of the drivers seat

Yeah, yeah, you didn't start the business. You didn't create the car. God created the car

You didn't create and creating any of these I didn't creating it is God created all of this

All right

So you all be blessed and I will see you all later

That was episode 16 of the Derrick Cash Podcast and it is entitled

"My Good Work... I Don't Even Own"

alright

Take care. And before you go remember

I just want to show I'll let you know that those three songs that I talked about and we will give a visual as we

Ride out y'all be good. Okay be good and thank you for your attendance

On this video. I really appreciate it. So let's go right here, you know

Hey, we got to make sure that we promote him but we're not gonna promote any YouTube commercials

We're just gonna promote my song. There we go. This is one of the songs alright

You

Do with all those people say that you can't do and at the end of the day

It's not gonna be the ones who are so cute or so pretty or so smart

And it's gonna be the ones who are so consistent. Alright?

So before you go to bed every night and make sure that you've done something to go towards your goals

Yeah

Have that tunnel vision. All right. Now you all be good and I'll see you later. This is the Derrick Cash Podcast. Peace Out.
