which is just now being launched.
Today you will join us in the unboxing and first review of the Microsoft Surface Book
which is Microsoft latest portable flagship.
and a direct competitor to Apple's Mac Book Pro models.
As commen these days Microsoft Surface Book is boxed in a minimalist and modern way.
Once you've got the lid on the box, the machine is there and ready to use.
An AC adapter and power cord with magnetic coupling for power and charging.
Under the machine you will find simple instruction manual
which easily helps you getting started with setup of the computer
And of course the Surface pen that you find on every machine in the Surface family.
Build quality of the machine feels very solid and it is obvious that this is a premium product.
The first thing you notice is the special hinge that attaches the screen to the keyboard part.
This design differs strongly from everything else on the market and gives the machine a truly unique look.
You get a full good keyboard with backlighting that can be adjusted in three levels.
The keys have 1.6mm travel on the keyboard that provides a good quality feeling
and is good to use throughout the working day.
The touchpad has a smooth and level surface and is made of laminated glass
which allows you to navigate accurately and quickly around the screen.
It is also worth mentioning that the clean design is free of stickers on the outside
and do not come with unnecessary software installed that slows down the computer performance.
that's so common on other WIndows machines.
Our test model of the Surface book comes with an i5 processor, has 8Gb of RAM and 128GB of storage.
Although this will be enough for most users, we recommend that you increase the storage and choose the 256GB option
so you have little extra to go on in the future.
Should you use your computer with more professional applications
such as Adobe Photoshop, Premier Pro, AutoCAD or similar programs
You should choose an i7 processor and choose the model with the dedicated NVIDA graphics card solution.
The screen of the Surface book is a story in itself. It's a 13.5 "Pixel Sense Display
with resolution of 3000 x 2000 dots
and a pixel density of 276 PPI. The screen is of course a 10 point multitouch display.
Here Microosft has chosen a slightly different format for the screen,,a 3: 2 format.
This enables you get a slightly higher display, and gain more space for text
than on a conventional 16: 9 screen
As with the Surface Pro models that we tested earlier you can find a Surface pen included.
You can still attach it magneticly on the side of your computers like you could on the Surface Pro 4.
Microsoft Surface Book comes as a kinder egg with 3 hybrid surprises.
In addition to being a premium laptop, Microsoft Surface Book can easily be used as a tablet
in tablet mode.
Just press the release button and you will be able to take off the screen and use it as a tablet.
In tablet mode the Surfcae Book unit is weighing only 720 grams.
Flip the screen 180 degrees, you can attatch it on again
and you have an effective "drwaing" mode where you get an lower angle of the screen that makes it easier
and more comfortable working with pen for drawings or notes.
You can also use it in a tent mode to easily watch movies, pictures or presentastions.
The machine comes with two full-size USB 3.0 connections, an Ultra-High Speed Full-size SD Card Reader
which you can use to easily transfer images or footage from a camera.
Surface book comes with a headphone input which can be found here.
The machine also has stereo speakers, and dual microphones.
The power connection is magnetic which is convenient because it is easy to connect to power,
but also easier to avoid accidents if one were to be unfortunate enough to trip over the power cord.
The machine has two cameras, an 8 mega pixels on the back, and a 5 megapixel camera in front.
This also supports Windows Hello enabling logon via facial recognition.
This is simply to get to work when you first set up the machine.
The machine comes with up to 12 hours of video playback of the battery and only weighs 1571g.
Looking to invest in a Surface Book, the smallest model start on a price of about 15 to 16000 kr
Price-wise is on par with the new Apple Mac Book Pro models.
