Hey, how's it going?

My name's Shawn Jones and I'm a student here at Canadore College's School of Aviation

and I would like to welcome you personally to one of my favourite places in the world,

the hangar.

Actually a little tid bit of information for you Canadore College has the most variety

of engines and aircraft than any other College here in Ontario.

A lots going on in the hangar right now so come follow me and let's check it out.

So I'm here with one of our fantastic professors Brett Chadwick.

Brett what're we doing today?

Thanks Shawn.

So, thanks for coming to Canadore thanks for coming to North Bay.

And today the students are working on a compression test on the engine.

So what they're doing really is checking out the health on each individual cylinder.

So we've run the airplane we've warmed it up, and the guys are now removing the spark

plugs and getting set up to, to put air pressure in the cylinders.

Smaller classes, make sure everybody gets a chance to work on the airplanes, make sure

everybody gets a chance to carry out each task.

Well sounds great let's go see what else is going on in the hangar!

So this is one of my favourite aircraft in the hangar Brett tell me more about it.

Shawn this helicopter is currently flying in the industry today, students are gaining

experience on active machines which is really great for them.

And one of our graduates actually was responsible for getting this aircraft donated to us.

That sounds awesome, I can't wait to show you some more aircraft that we have in the

hangar!

Ok we're gonna demonstrate the altitude alert function.

This helps the pilot maintain his assigned altitude.

You'll see we've already got the alert.

Warning us we're within in a thousand feet of our assigned altitude.

And at three hundred feet you'll notice the alert light will go out.

There we go.

We reach our assigned altitude we'll get three flashes, and it'll go out.

There we go, now we're good to go.
