Young Women Ending Discrimination on the Streets of Delhi - Youth-made video - Duration: 4:24.

Young people are active, connected and able to lead change, despite facing some of the toughest challenges.

So, we did an intensive 10 day training of our 25 skill sakhis, on various asepcts,

on how to talk to people in the community, on how to write a CV,

and each and every individual received a peer to peer educator-training as well.

These young people come into our Youth Resource Centres and they come and they read,

they sit on the computers and these skill sakhis are now training them on how to write CVs, how to apply for jobs,

how to use the internet and basic computing skills such as Microsoft Office, Excel and Powerpoint.

Whatever work we do in future, or even presently, it will not sustain itself unless we invest in young people,

and bring them as a force for inciting development.

Linda Ferich Named 2017 Conservation Teacher of the Year Video - Duration: 3:13.

I have a unique connection was with Linda our state conservation teacher of

the year and I only have one owner for 40 years but I was principal here at

Ballinger elementary for the eight years that if we were to work together in this

building Mrs Ferich has like a lot of us that are raised on the farmer ranch we

have a unique connection to the land and as far as Mrs Ferich

teaching about conservation and soil stewardship it's not that she wants to

she just can't help it she's too connected Mrs Ferich gives my favorite

teachers she really doesn't deserve this award like math & science because the

way she teaches it it's fun the way she teaches it and I want to be a surgeon

when I grow up because I think it's because the math and science Mrs Ferich

taught us I live on a ranch and I enjoy it the conservation she teaches us we're

really proud that she won the sword I'm the principal here at Ballinger

elementary and we are beyond excited and proud of miss Linda Ferich for winning

the state conservation Teacher of the Year award it's just a testament to all

the wonderful things that she's doing the classroom and the great

environmental example that she's setting for our kids well when I started

teaching of course I brought in my background with me so the farming and

ranching and conservation was one of the things that I really loved and starting

in kindergarten it was really an eye-opening experience to see that the

little guys really take conservation serious everything from turning off the

water when you're washing your hands to worrying about the soil washing away one

of the things I love about teaching conservation and the practices that we

have is when we do the posters we do all the background information here at

school the children do research then they take that information home and they

teach their parents and their family about it which is really expanding the

classroom beyond the walls of the school Runnels County is very agriculturally

based with farming and ranch is one of the primary industries and so

when we teach conservation here at school they take it home and they tell

their parents they tell other people and someday they may take it and become part

of their own life when they move into farming and ranching

I am excited yet I'm sad because this is my last year of teaching in the

elementary I am proud though that I was able to teach the students about

conservation and about Texas and our natural resources and maybe they will

take that and pass that on to future generations
