Hi, my name is Ally, and I am a sophomore at the University of Wisconsin- Madison: studying
journalism and strategic communications while earning a certificate in digital studies.
Upon arriving at the University last year in the fall, I went to the student org fair
and found the organization, Her Campus Wisconsin.
Now, Her Campus Wisconsin is a chapter of the global Her Campus, the number one online
college women's magazine, written entirely by college women— like myself.
I have been a part of this organization for about a year now and am currently a Chapter Advisor
for the global Her Campus and a features editor for my chapter, Her Campus Wisconsin.
Now, Her Campus Wisconsin is currently looking for writers so if you love writing, are all
about an organization that is all about empowering women and are looking for an organization
that is more low-commitment than others, this is the organization for you.
Now, what do you have to do to be a writer for Her Campus Wisconsin?
Well, you have to attend our two meetings that we have every month.
They are bi-weekly, and they're only about 30 minutes so they're very short but also
very informative.
You must also write at least two articles a month, but you can write as many as you
want.
I've literally written about anything and everything from relationships to books to
why Buddy the Elf describes me during finals week.
You must attend also one of our two socials that we host every month.
Now, I don't know why you would want to miss a social because these may be my favorite
part of this organization.
We've gone apple picking, we've gone to the farmer's market, and we've gone out
to breakfast.
I love the socials.
You must also attend our one philanthropy event that we host every semester.
All money that is donated and raised is donated to some organization that is all about helping
women in need, which is pretty cool.
So, if you want to apply to be a Her Campus writer, please comment below, and I will directly
message you the application and more information about this organization.
This organization has honestly changed my life.
I have met some of my best friends, I have traveled to New York City, and I have met
many influential women with careers in journalism, and I know because of them I will be able
to succeed in the workforce after I graduate.
So, I hope this organization can change your life just as much as it has changed mine,
but until then, I look forward to hearing from you and thank you!
