Hi, my name is Taylor Champlin, I'm a fourth-year liberal studies student

And I'm graduating this quarter going on to become a high school math teacher

I've been doing the learn by doing lab for one quarter

I did MOST for one quarter

I've done MOST for three quarters

This is my first quarter doing the Learn By Doing Lab and MOST

Learn By Doing Lab, MOST, and TEAMS for one year

I have been doing the Learn By Doing Lab for two years

I did MOST for one quarter in the fall this year

I'm a part of MOST

I've been on TEAMS for three quarters

Try MOST!

MOST is a program where you go into a school

And you have a group of 2-4 students

and you do hands-on experiments

I chose MOST because I was looking into becoming a single-subject teacher

I'm pre-med and I want to specialize in pediatrics

and I'm really interested in developmental areas

Such as psychology and biology

It really gives you a taste of what teaching is like

I really recommend doing MOST and doing any of the programs

Bonding with the kids, bonding with your co-students, co-teachers is really a good experience

Try TEAMS!

As part of TEAMS

You are an academic coach

The best part about TEAMS is that I have been able to get inside the classroom

And I have been able to talk with teachers who have been there for years or have just started a few years ago

It's really neat to bring in different experiences that you've had from Cal Poly

Try Learn By Doing Lab!

The Learn By Doing Lab is pretty fast paced

Unlike the other programs where the instructors go to the students

The students come to Cal Poly

I chose Learn By Doing Lab because it was two units of

Upper-level chemistry classes that I didn't have to take and I thought I wanted to be a teacher

So I decided to dip my feet in through the Learn By Doing Lab

My goal is to be a future teacher

And the Learn By Doing Lab has helped me

Make a close connection with kids

It's a lot of fun and you get to do it with a great group Cal Poly students

I have four little sisters and it's just a really nice feeling getting to connect with them
