Who are you and when were you born?

My name Is Fidencio Garcia..

I was born in 1967..

In the City of Zitacuaro Michoacan..

I'm Married..

I have 5 kids...

10 Grandchildren...

A numerous Family..but really beautiful!!!

AM........

I would like for all my children and grandchildren to keep studying..to have a...a good Education...

Something that we never had...when ..Well me at least I didn't finish school...

Now I have to be working in construction...

which it's a hard job...

But...At least puts food on the table....

But I don't want the same to happen to my grandkids..I want you to have a great future..

What is your highest level of Education?

It was the 9th Grade..

Do you think Education was important in your life?

Yes...It was important..but I didn't had the chance..

Well...Idid had the chance...But during that time I was a little bit out of control..That's the main reason why I didn't finish school...

Coming to this Country was going to school still important to you?

It was...It was an option...But I already had a family to support back in Mexico

So..I had to..to work to support and send money to them...

But Yeah..It was an option..

If you had an option to choose between going to school or getting a job which one will you choose and why?

Maybe I would've chosen going to school..

Why, to have a better life..Not working so hard....In construction

And being able to study what I wanted..And work in the job that I wanted...

Do you think that with a Higher Education your lifestyle would be different?

Yes..Yes I do believe it..I would have a better job and a better salary..

What were some of the obstacles you had to confront for you to go,or not go to school?

The obstacles I had to confront.....

Confront my self...My own lies..I would say that I went to school when in reality I did not..

Those are the obstacles that........That I had to face...

Do you have more?

If you could go back in time, what would you change and why?

If I could go back......Now I would take advantage of the time given, go back to school to finish it.To have better opportunities in life..

Do you regret not being able to finish your Education?

I do...I do regret it..son, because now I work everyday under the sun..

Not making enough money to support my family..And I don't want my kids and grandkids to go through what I did..

That's why you have to study... more...Go to college Graduate, to have better opportunities in life..

What was your parents level of Education?

Unfortunately...they did not had the opportunity to go to school....Because from a very young age they had to work to help their parents..

So they did not go to school..they didn't have an education..

Did your parents ever encouraged you to continue your Education?

Yes..son..My Parents had the hope that I would go to school to be somebody in life, to be an educated person, to have a better job...

But me and my bad head..I did not go to school and didn't finish.

Did you learn from that?

Yes....Yes I did learn.....Now I have the.....the unsatisfaction of not being able to finish school...And that is why I am where I am..
