next question from "hey_sister": Did anybody criticized you for dating an american?
It's a funny situation cause on the first 6 months of our relationship, we didn't meet and we also never kissed
so almost nobody would take us seriously and it was very complicated to go out and stuff cause nobody believed it was going to work out
Nobody really criticized me either, the closest situation to that was when a girl I went to high school with posted a meme on facebook
that said " Did you know that in other countries there are women that are beautiful and intelligent that think that gingers are handsome??"
Next question is from Gustavo:
When did you both decided it was time to get married and when did you decide to start the green card process?
To me, I knew the first time I came to Brazil, we were at the airport in Rio, saying goodbye and crying like fools, that moment I knew I wanted to marry her
He would ask me "whats your ring size? What kind of ring do you like?" It wasn't a surprise at all, I was sure he eas going to propose to me
IT was the only way for us to be together, so it, wasn't a decision , it was something that happened.
The second part of the question: we decided to start the green card process when we also realized that living in Brazil wasn't an option to start a family anymore
Joaninha10 asked on Instagram: Was distance a problem to you and did you ever consider giving up?
With whatsapp and so many other apps, it wasn't easy but it made the process way easier so we wouldn't miss each other as much
We would call and text each other all day
I never even thought about giving up but I want to know her answer
The distance wasn't a really big problem, it was actually a bless to me because I was still finishing law school and studying for the Bar's eam
It was actually good not to have a boyfriend there with me so I wouldn't have to devote part of my time to going out
Of course I missed him but I also had my friends and we would go out and I always tell this to everybody:
It's very easy to start a long distance relashionship if the distance is all you know
the second part of the question was: Did you ever consider giving up?
No....Did I?......OK
Next question: When did I realize it was love?
I'm going to be very honest, it wasn't love at first sight or second sight, it was something that started growing and growing until the day I realized it was love.
We were really good friends for a long time and it wasn't until after we started dating that I realized it was love
Everytime that we would see each other it kept growing and growing until the day it was love
To me it was a very defined moment, we were friend and we were also dating already
she went to the club with her friends and that really bothered me and that moment I was trying to understand what was that feeling
because she was with her friend and I knew she wasn't going to do anything and I still was hurt so I was trying to undertand it and I realized: wow I think I'm in love with this woman
I waited almost three week to tell her cause I was so nervous!
How long have you guys been together? 4 years
When did you decide to get married? On the NYE of 2013
How did you decide to live in the US?
It was the economic situation in Brazil
How was adapting to a new culture? And what he thinks that is the most awkward thing in our culture?
I can adapt really well to different situations so when I got here it was pretty easy, specially cause I love fast food and I love to eat!!
Well I think it's very awkward that she washes her panties in the shower
To me, the most awkward thing is the fact that americans have absolutely no limits at all when it comes to drinking
MArcella asked: When you got married, did you decide right away to live in the US or you considered living in Brazil first?
We were going to live in Brazil, he still wants to move there actually
and she asked if we are going to brazil every year to visit our family and friends?
I will probably go back every year, yes, to visit my family
Next question: When you guys met, you fell in love right away?
no
we were just friends for a long time
What did you feel on the first moment you met?
honestly, nothing, she was a little bit annoying but other than that, nothing
I felt nothing, he was super antissocial and all I could think of it's how he had no chance with me
next question: we decided to get married in vegas cause it was fast and easy, also I always wanted to get married "alone", just me and my husband
Lettycia asked: How did you guys meet? We met in Buenos Aires
I was there for an insternship for my college and she was there learning spanish
She also asked me: On the first date, what did you think before meeting each other?
I'm going to tell you how it was meeting him at the airport for the first time: everytime I go to airports I feel the crazy uncontrollabe need to pee hahaha
So I'm always very anxious and to make it worse, I always need to pee hahaha
So I was going crazy when I went to pick him up cause I also was scared that he was going to get lost in the airport!!
But the first thing I thought when I saw him at the airport was: Wow what a big head! hahahahaha
To me we had a first date, it was on facetime, she ordered food and I cooked my food and we pressed play on netflix at the same time
Fey asked: What was the most funny situation you've ever been through?
There are a few, but my favorite was when I came here for the first time and she took me to Corcovado to see the statue of christ the redeemer
when I came here for the first time and we travelled to Rio she took me to Corcovado to see the statue of christ the redeemer
And I said: Why do you want to spend money to see a concrete statue? You can see enough of it from the beach! She got really mad at me and I couldn't stop laughing
To me, the most funny stituation was when I took him to Beco do Batman in SP (a street full of graffiti) and he hates graffiti,
so he would complain all the time he hated it and he wouldn't take my pictures cause he also hated taking pictures
So I got really mad cause he wouldn't take pictures with me and he would say shit and complain ALL THE TIME HE WAS THERE
SO I got REALLY MAD AT HIM!
So when we took the bus back home, it was a little bit crowded so we sat in different places and when it got to my stop, I left him there and got out of the bus by myself!
He didn1t see I left and he kept going
Took me two hours to get back to her house
and it wasn't funny at all until months later
he got an uber back!! Nop I came back by bus
Olivia wants to know if when we got married we have any problem with immigration
So we had no problem and yes I was interviewed at the consulate in Rio in order to get my visa
The process took 11 months of gathering all kinds of documents and at the end I had to be interviewed but it was the easiest part
It was pretty easy cause I was married to him already so they had nothing to question
She also asked me what's the procedure to marry an american:
It was pretty simple, I got here as a tourist, then we went to vegas, got our marrigae license and got married on the same day
The real problem is the process to get the visa, cause it's very complicated and I wouldn't even be able to tell you how it was
Next question: are american men really more "colder" than brazillian men?
I don't think you can classify a whole population with just one word but the stereotype is real
We do show less affection in public than brazillians, yes
The next question is: Do you guys want to have kids?
The answer is no. We really don't plan on having kids, ever
Barbara asked me: after you started living together, did you notice any super different habit that the other have?
In the beggining we would fight a lot over what kind of fruits should go in the fridge
I also think its super awkward to wash your panties in the shower
We also have very different opinions on what should be considered breakfast food
Sometimes he eats pizza for breakfast and I find that extremelly disgusting
Gabriela asked if we think about going to live in Brasil
I do not want to go live Brasil but he does, a lot!
How is it for you to live with a person with such different habits and culture?
I don't really think that our habits and cultures are that different, I'm also very adaptable person so I don't really have a problem with that
The food is the most different thing, other than that, he really likes brazillian culture and he really embraces it, so it's not really a problem at all
Next question: Am I too jealous? Yes I am!
a lot
for no reason
yes, it's for no reason , I am simply jealous
Does he supports you in your decisions?
He supports me on everything I'm recording a video right now
He supported me on instagram, youtube, he learned how to take pictures so he can take my pictures
She also asked me if we love each other
do we love each other?
yes, sometimes even 4 times a week
Viic asked: Where did you see each other for the first time?
At the kitchen of the hostel we were staying, I was on twitter and she was sitting behind me yelling "chico, chico"
Until I turned and she said: Aren't you gonna say hello? and I said "no"
And how was the first date? At the airport, I was super nervous
Mirelly asked: What course you were doing when you met? I was studying spanish cause my dad is argentinian and speaks spanish but I don't and he was doing an internship
The second to last question is: I want to know who fell in love first
It was me for sure
And the last and most important question of all was from my mom!
She asked if I would do everything again
And I for sure would, definetely.
And I wouldn't have as many doubts as the first time
I feel the same but I would do everything faster
The process took a long time
We should have done our research before getting married
so we would know what visa type was the fastest
but we are together now and that's what matter
