Facebook is making moves to be more secure a Texas Police Department learns the importance
of backups a new form of fishing and an update on the arrests in Russia at Kaspersky Labs
all coming up next [intro music] in sad news Masaya Nakamura is passed away
Nakamura was the founder of Namco founded Namco in 1955 Namco started out very humbly
with two coin operated wooden horses that were on stationed at the top of department
stores Namco of course would later go on to develop huge video games like Pac-Man that
has become known worldwide nickel more Rue passed away at the age of 91 and this Titan
of the video game industry will be missed Facebook has announced that it will start
allowing users to use security Keys the more famous of them being a Yubico security key
which is a item that you would keep in your possession and it will either use near field
communication to let the computer know that you are the correct user or you could actually
put the key into the USB slot it would be a second form of authentication to help verify
the user other companies that are also compatible with the Yubico key include Google get Hub
Docker Dropbox Salesforce LastPass as well as others so it would be a good idea to look
into it at Yubico key will run you anywhere between 20 to $50 depending on the one you
purchase and is an excellent way to try and nail down two-factor authentication to make
it that much harder for someone to hack your Facebook account or any other accounts that
were mentioned earlier overall I think it's a very good move for
Facebook in upcoming editions of chrome and Firefox they will both be warning users
if you are sending secure information over insecure connections with the new upcoming
releases of version 56 and 51 of chrome and Firefox respectively they of the new browers
will be warning you if you are using HTTP rather than the more secure https and this
is specially relates to when you are sending a private information such as credit card
information over the internet as most websites are moving over to https no matter what their
submitting because we have found that they are so many ways that hackers can get information
from unsecured lines will be actually looking at one of those very shortly here unfortunately
we have yet another ransomware incident that has made the news a police department in Cockrell
Hill Texas has lost eight years worth of documents photos and videos to a ransomware attack reports
from bleepingcomputer.com say that hackers used a spoofed email to infect the computer
system and then demanded $4,000 to unlock the files the attack wiped out eight years
worth of evidence including Microsoft documents photos body cam videos in health surveillance
cameras and in-house camera video systems the police department did have backups of
CDs and DVDs that did remain intact but unfortunately a lot of the items that were wiped out were
ongoing and more recent cases the type of ransomware was thought to be the Osiris virus
however bleeping computer believe that it was possibly a newer version of the lucky
ransomware which also uses the Dutch iris extension as we have continued to talk about
here you have to be very careful what you download and what you open hackers are getting
smarter and unfortunately since there are so many reports of security violations many
people are becoming immune and not really paying attention to security as much as they
really need to be as always make sure you have up-to-date backup and be careful what
you do on the internet and now we move on to the latest form of fishing so it looks
like someone is figured out a new way to fish information out of unwary people on the internet
what you're looking at on the screen now is what you would see over and over at many different
websites a a place for you to enter your name and email address to either switch to subscribe
to some type of information and I'm sure you've seen plenty of these all over the internet
now what you don't see which we will take a look at if we look at the code here's the
place for the name and the email but what someone has figured out ingenious lead to
do is move over past the margin that's that - 500 p x that you see you there so you don't
see it on screen is it will also add a request from your computer any other information that
you've put in previously and allowed autofill to complete such as your phone organization
your address your postal code your city and it goes through all of these different bits
of information including your credit card information the month of the year in again
you're not seeing any of that here fell off screen style sheet has remove that so it only
looks like you're submitting your name an email but if you have autofill turned on or
autocomplete it will fill out all this information as well and send it along currently there's
not a resolution to this problem the only thing you can do is turn off autofill or autocomplete
make sure you erase any of the data that your browser's have this does affect all browsers
Firefox Chrome Internet Explorer so make sure you are not having any of those browsers how
is any of that important information because someone can get to it
we're going to conclude today with a follow-up on the arrest made at Kaspersky Labs not too
much new information but krebsonsecurity is reporting a little bit more the employee that
was arrested name is Sergey Mikhaylov he was arrested by Russian authorities on Espionage
charges almost like the movie when he was arrested as he was giving a meeting and he
was escorted out of the room with a bag thrown over his head letting you know that Russians
take their security very seriously reports suggest that Mikhaylov is being charged with
getting a secret out to the United States via a website in Russian which translates
to Humpty Dumpty is Kaspersky Labs is very high-profile will continue to follow this
story as more information comes out end is always let's not forget about the eff if you
are able to please head over to eff.org and take a look at the Electronic Frontier Foundation
page if you're not familiar with them they are defending the rights in our digital world
every day and if you can I highly recommend that you donate to them you're not for me
with them go over to their website and take a look there's a lot of great information
on what they are doing thank you very much for listening if you enjoyed what you heard
please like our page please consider sharing it with someone you think would find this
interesting and of course don't forget to subscribe thank you again for watching have
a good afternoon

SSL Protection for Your Website || GoDaddy - Duration: 1:10.
You've heard of SSL, but you're not really sure what it is.
SSL stands for Secure Sockets Layer.
It's a technology that encrypts or scrambles data while it travels between websites and web servers.
And it's pretty much bulletproof;
keeping hackers from deciphering the data even if they manage to get their hands on it.
SSL-protected sites have web addresses
that start with HTTPS, instead of HTTP.
More and more people look for that powerful little 's'.
It's a great way to earn customer trust.
It may even increase traffic to your site because Google rewards HTTPS encrypted websites with higher rankings.
But wait there's more!
Some visitors to your site may miss the little 's' at the end of HTTPS,
but they won't miss the lock icon in their browsers address bar.
And if you decide to get the highest class of SSL,
designed for e-commerce and banking websites,
the address bar will turn green.
It's easy to add SSL encryption to your site,
you just install a certificate.
Best of all we automate the entire process for GoDaddy hosting and SSL customers,
so everything is done seamlessly behind the scenes, you need to lift a finger.

What if Earth was Cube? - Duration: 2:27.
What if Earth was cube.
All the planets are round each object with greater mass is round, and thats because the
force of gravity pulls planet material towards the center of the planet
But lets say, by some miracle, Earth became cube..
Cube planet would have six completely flat sides ...
If you were in the middle of the cube for you it will seem quite normal ...
But as you would move away from the center, gravity would become stronger and stronger,
it would became so strong that you could not even walk properly any more.
While it would be almost impossible to reach the edge of this planet, the feeling on the
the edge would be as you were standing on top of the mountain
And if you stepped on edge it would be a place with normal gravity
but one step forward and you would fall towards the center of the other side.
Each side
would have a different weather, on one side it would be too hot on another it would rain
and ice would be on the third, The oceans and all the water would be attracted
to the center of the planet where gravity is strongest, so that is the only suitable
place for life.
Is it?
The core of the earth would be in the center and it would literally suck everything that
is not in the center, it would create bigger pressure on the center of
the planet and therefore it would cause often earthquakes and volcanic eruptions

Highlights of Facebook Analytics Live Chat - Duration: 7:30.
Facebook changes their algorithm very regularly And they publicly announced about a year or
a year and a half ago They will promote posts from your friends
and your family in the newsfeed, which then works to the detriment of the posts from companies
and brands.
Where do you find this?
Click the insights tab, and this is the first screen you see
From your business or fan page So if you are on your company page, not a
personal page but a company page, and along the top you see insights
When you click that, you're going to get an overview screen.
This is the top half of that overview screen.
How often do you even check, I'm curious?
I don't really look at it.
I get the notifications.
I always want to know who that is, but I haven't found that I can view that.
Do any of you have someone else handle your analytics?
Or handle your social media?
I did, but I don't now.
Something I would recommend is, don't obcess over it, but at least give yourself a quarterly
review.
I advocate to export the data because that's the raw data
Whereas here it is these beautiful graphs, but you can make beautiful graphs in Excel
too.
The big difference is seeing the raw data make such a world of difference.
What information are you supposed to specifically look at?
If you've ever exported that data, it's about 70 columns long.
That export is huge.
When you export your post data in particular, you get 67 columns.
If you read the names of the columns, they also come with their own little definitions.
When you're under insights, in the top right corner it says Export Data.
Choose Post Data.
My recommendation is to do this in quarterly chunks so you get enough information that
is useful.
Post Impressions are the number of times a post from your Facebook page is displayed.
Impressions give you a clear understanding of how many times your content has been exposed
in the news feed.
Reach is the number of people who saw your Facebook post.
Post Stories This is one of my key engagement tools
Refers to the number of "stories" that are generated about your Facebook page's post.
A post story could be if someone liked it, shared it, if someone commented on it.
So anytime someone engages with your post, Facebook calls it a story.
Answering a question or poll, responding to an event,
so if you have an RSVP Mentioning your page in their own post
If I was to tag Trusty Oak, then I would have created a post story about you.
And it would come up in your analytics.
Tagging your page in a photo or recommending your page.
All of that falls under post stories.
Post Consumptions Refers to the number of clicks anywhere in
your Facebook post.
This includes link clicks, photo views, video plays, and other clicks.
Other clicks is not well defined.
It refers to clicks on a page title, on see more, or any other interactions that generate
a story.
Talking About This It refers to the number of people who have
created a story from your Facebook page.
Just like impressions is to reach, talking about is to post stories.
Then they have Engaged Users.
This is the number of people who have clicked anywhere in your Facebook posts cumulatively.
Post Consumers The number of people who have clicked anywhere
in your individual Facebook post, whether they create a story or not.
Videos The one that's most important is average duration.
The total time spent watching a video divided by the total number of people who have played
the video.
However, that metric is depended upon people who have watched the video for a minimum of
three seconds.
If you're doing a lot of video, that is 7 or 8 columns of that export.
The approach I take is that these 3 pages of definitions I break up into 3 tabs.
I usually have one tab is all of the data, then I duplicated it 3 times.
Then I delete all of the gunk I don't need.
That makes my life so much less stressful.
I recommend looking at when you can post, so when you're in the highest reach, because
that's when reach and impressions matters.
You want to put your stuff out there when people are online.
How to share is the conversation we had before.
Resharing, tagging people.
Also, how to share comes down to your content, which is why I put make sure your content
is engaging.
You'll see this in your Facebook, but then if you go into the Facebook Audience Insights
you'll see this.
Facebook.com/ads/audience-insights You can add all of the different search criteria
like you would for an ad, and figure out who your audience is.
What other pages do they like?
Like a test ad?
Not even an ad, you're really just building an audience.
You can do all of the same filters you would use when building an ad.
And what happens is you click through these tabs like page likes.
It shows you what other pages they like.
You're looking to see who's on Facebook.
Yeah, but also who's on Facebook and fits into the filters you have in mind.
You might even discover new filters you weren't thinking of.
