Perfect Dress Watch [0:00:00]

All right, gentlemen.

In today's video, I'm talking about my Rolex Datejust 41, why I purchase it and why

I think it's a great dress watch.

[Music] So, why did I buy the Datejust?

I already have a couple of Rolexes.

I've shown you guys my Yacht-Master, I absolutely love this watch.

And, I've shown you all the Explorer, but why did I buy the Datejust?

Because it was actually on my list of the three Rolexes that I wanted to own and it's

the first Rolex that I remember actually see on a gentleman's wrist that I was, I really

like that watch and someday I want to have a Rolex.

So, for me, when I purchase watches there's a reason and association with it especially

if I'm spending a lot of money on the watch.

For this particular watch right here, this is in remembrance of the first year we sold

out Menfluential, formerly StyleCon.

Me and Aaron Marino this last time we sold it out and it was the best event ever.

And for five years you know we've been doing this conference and it's a lot of work.

It's not something – I don't know if you guys know I don't make a whole lot of

money – don't really make any money off of this thing.

We simply reinvest and do it and it's more about bringing together great people.

And I wanted something that was a dressier watch that would remind me of no matter what

happens with the conference.

Maybe we throw it out maybe we stop doing it, this is going to remind me for five years

we worked hard and we eventually sold out that we did it and we helped a lot of people

and it's going to remind me of the times of everything about that.

So, that was for me what this watch epitomizes.

Now, let's talk about the details of this Datejust and I'll explain why I was drawn

to it.

If you want to follow along, you can look at the details on this watch, it's reference

number 126334.

But, the first thing is the blue dial.

When I saw this I absolutely loved it.

Blue, one of my favorite colors, I don't have any watches like this in my collection.

And it wasn't like an over the top, it wasn't an outlandish blue, it was a very muted blue,

so when I saw this I'm like this one work in my wardrobe.

I've got a number of blue jackets, I've got a number of items that are going to work

with blue.

Now, speaking of color, let's go ahead and talk about the metal that this watch is made

from.

This is from their Rolesor which is actually a mix of the white gold along with the Oystersteel.

It's unique to Rolex.

I really like the combination, you get the best of both properties.

You've got a little bit of the luster with a lot of the strength of the steel.

But, what's interesting is when I started doing the research about the Datejust, I really

like the fact that Martin Luther King had had a Datejust.

He had this gold Datejust which you can spot in pictures throughout history and I just

love that he was meeting with Lyndon Johnson, he's wearing the gold Datejust.

He's eating with his family, he's wearing this gold Datejust.

But for me to wear a gold Datejust, I just felt like now that's too much over the top.

Gold is for a guy that has a warm tones.

I've got cooler tones.

All of my metals from my wedding ring to most of the watches I choose, they're all going

to be silver.

But, I was like, how can I bring in gold to my watch and I was able to do it with actually

this choice of steel.

So, there are two details on this watch that I did not expect to like, but when I saw this

watch in person, I absolutely love.

Number one was the fluted bezel.

I didn't know what to think about it when I saw it online, but when I saw it on person,

I thought it worked perfect for the watch especially with the Jubilee bracelet.

Now, like I said, I already had two watches and both of my other watches have the Oyster

bracelet, but I went ahead and went with the Jubilee on this one.

Now, overall, the fluted bezel mix with the Jubilee bracelet it gives – it's the smaller

details, it's a little bit more flash, so I am going to say that this watch probably

grabs a little bit more attention, but I absolutely love the overall combination and the look.

Now, other details about this watch, it comes with a new incredibly precise 3235 movement.

It's got a 70-hour power reserve, it's water-resistant down to a hundred meters,

and it's got that sapphire glass right there on the front.

Just a very tough watch that looks great.

I absolutely love it.

So, all of these leads to the question is this the perfect dress watch?

And the answer is no.

It's a great dress watch, but it's not the perfect dress watch.

You could get a dressier watch by simply going with a leather band and something that doesn't

have a date something that is very simple and elegant.

Actually, this is probably the dressiest watch that I own right now and, yes, it's by Original

Grain, a company that makes watches much less expensive.

And, no, this video is not sponsored by them, but this watch right here is going to be technically

by the rules dressier.

Why?

It is simpler and it's got the leather band, but practically speaking I would wear this

with a tuxedo because I absolutely love this watch, I love what it stands for.

I spent a lot of money on this watch and it's something I want to get some wear out of and

I want to enjoy wearing it.

So, what do you think?

Agree?

Disagree?

Guys, let me know down in the comments whether or not you agree, disagree.

What do you think are my points?

What do you think are my choice of watch?

I know so many of you guys are like, Antonio, get off of the Rolex bandwagon, go buy something

else.

I have bought my three and now I am moving on to other brands.

I've got a lot of other watches that I want to pick up.

But, I would love to hear from you guys down in the comments.

What watches you would recommend?

What your idea of a perfect dress watch is?

And, that's it, guys.

Take care.

I will see you in the next video.

July 2018 Buckeye Guard Video Magazine - Duration: 8:01.

Coming up on the Buckeye Guard.

Military police build relationships during an

international peacekeeping exercise.

A husband and wife discuss their

abilities to overcome challenges in a dual military marriage.

And an Airman's military medical training is put to the test

A friend of yours passes out and

puts breathe in and you got a quick.

Military police companies from the Ohio and Tennessee National Guard's

participated in Platinum Wolf 2018, a multinational peacekeeping operations

training exercise hosted by the Serbian Armed Forces.

it had to be so the exercise began with a week of training and was followed by

training missions conducted by integrated multinational squads so the

first week of training was essential for establishing relationship with the other

countries that were here a lot of my soldiers and myself included having

gotten a lot of out of country experience or multinational experience

so the first few days where we conducted mount training civilians disturbance

training cordon and search training and patrol training allowed us to see how

other countries operate with those parameters as well as to essentially

just get to know them and socialize with them and hear what their practices are

for doing different types of operations that we do as military policemen the

culminating event of the exercise was a series of simulated operations conducted

by the integrated squads as a demonstration of capabilities for an

audience of senior leaders from the participating nations I think that the

ability for our troops to interact with troops from other countries is a key

element of peacekeeping operations around the world

and the ability for them to understand our tactics to understand the the

weaponry that we're going to be using as well is critically valuable so this sort

of training is helping to build in fact a strength for our country so that more

countries can be involved in peacekeeping operations in the future

I believe that multinational training is essential for interoperability because

now our military is no longer flying solo we operate all around the world

with a lot of different partners and every soldier from the private all the

way to the captain can benefit from something like this you never know when

you're out on an operation overseas or even in your own country if you're gonna

be training or fighting with somebody you may have had experiences with in

platinum wolf because it's a small military world that we operate in and a

lot of these faces we can see later down the road in coalition operations ever

since we met we always get to how do you guys do it how does it happen how do you

make it all work and and honestly I don't can I really don't know any other

way of doing it a couple that doesn't have a dual military you know what if

she wasn't in the military and I'm talking about the issues of whatever

she's like oh okay but she doesn't understand as most drill members know

hey I got this plan on a weekend oh look that's drill weekend so everything has

to change the one drill weekend comes up we don't plan for drill first off we

plan for who's watching the kids who's gonna take care of the dogs

TD why's we do the same situation it's uh it's constantly yeah changing I think

there's always a level of stress and anxiety that kind of heightened but I

think we can read each other pretty well to know when it's coming that we can

kind of help and with us both being military we understand a little bit more

about what to anticipate what's coming and it's just important to identify that

there's definitely going to be stressors right and as you as you as we go through

things there's it's not just on the deploying number

but the number obviously this thing back to him it's rough on the kids and it was

rough on me because I know I had a system in place I get home from work and

I knew I had to you know dishes dishwasher get food ready Beauvoir she

gets home I'm still in that mode of doing it but then when she does

something it kind of throws me off well all right now I have to go figure this

out and it takes about I don't know almost two weeks to really feel I feel

it out and know okay these are our roles now yeah our roles have changed from

before to during to now but then it all kind of mellows out mm everything works

it all works again my greatest support system is her so if I'm gone I need her

the Ohio Army National Guard has claimed gold by winning the 2018 army

communities of excellence competition among National Guard entries the

national competition recognizes the best performing Army installations and

communities in categories such as leadership strategic planning and

customer focus it's the sixth time Ohio has won the award what it really does is

confirm that we're on the right journey to making this the best National Guard

that we can for our soldiers for our civilian workforce and for all those

folks that support us it's about the trust of the community and it just

confirms that we're doing the right things to maintain that trust while the

official award presentation was made previously at the Pentagon a ceremony

was held at Baylor armory in Columbus to include a special recognition of the

team that worked on the Ohio Army National Guard's winning submission

on a Sunday afternoon I had called a friend of mine over to the house to help

me work on a truck upon his arrival he felt dizzy and he said he didn't know

why or what was causing it about 15 minutes later he never showed up in the

barn he was parked right outside the barn but never showed up and I was kind

of wondering what he was doing he was on the phone or what but I go strolling

outside and I find him hunched over outside of his truck he was breathing

but it was unconscious so I sit him back up in the seat and I screaming at him

yelling at him I said you know hey Brian you need to answer me you know this is

not a joke I said if you don't answer my call nine-one-one

i called 9-1-1 and they said well get him out of the truck so i bear hugged

him grabbed him up drugged him out brought him over here I laid him down

right here in the grass and I kind of looked up and looked around hoping that

somebody was gonna see me and come running over but I'm it so it took me

about a half a second it felt like an eternity before I realized that I needed

to perform CPR I've lived in God in my whole entire

life it's nerve-wracking but when a friend of yours passes out and puts

breathing you got to act quick and I was able to give him CPR and save them they

always preach about citizen Airmen and no matter where you're at or what you're

doing you're representing the airforce you representing the Guard you

representing your wing you have to set a good example for the community on what

we're doing about a year ago I was given opportunity to become a CPR instructor

the high quality training that we get in the military is what gave me the ability

to perform the CPR and say the same Brian's life to see more about the Ohio

VIDEO.

Top 4 Best Practices for Creating Social Videos - Duration: 1:45.

(techno music)

- Hi, I'm Joe from Potratz,

and today on Potratz Pointers I'm going to be

talking about creative considerations

for making social videos.

First step is to capture.

When someone's going through their

mobile news feed it take them mere seconds

to determine whether you content is

watchable or skipable.

Facebook recommends that within

the first 15 seconds of your video,

you establish the goal of your video.

Whether that be by an incentive,

establishing your brand or what have you.

Step two is the design.

Design while keeping in mind that most people

are going to watch the first few seconds of your

video with the sound off.

So you have to communicate

your message visually.

You can use subtitles, graphics, or animations

to both engage the viewer and display

your information visually.

Step three is frame.

Frame your videos appropriately for the

platforms it's on.

On YouTube we recommend the normal 16X9

landscape format while on Facebook and Instagram

a square works best because it fits in the feed.

But if you're thinking of Instagram stories or

Facebook stories vertical is your best option.

Step four is simply just play.

Post the video and see how it reacts

with your viewers.

You can also use things such as

Facebook Creative Hub to test your videos,

or look at other people's successful

videos for inspiration.

That was this week's Potratz Pointer.

If you have any questions or comments

please leave them below and I'd love it

if you liked and shared this video.

And we'll see you next time.

Lee Cockerell Interview Video #2 - Duration: 3:10.

This is Stoddard Worman! It is a beautiful, sunny day here in Indianapolis

and I hope it is beautiful wherever you are! Today, this video is all about our

special guest. I'd referenced him earlier this week but he is the man, the

myth, the legend, Mr. Lee Cockerell!

So it sounds like in the early part of your

career and I experienced this as well, that as a leader we're always evolving

and like to your point the most important part is that we've got to look at

ourselves in the mirror constantly and make sure that we're being that best

boss that we can constantly be. So is there a particular instance that you can

remember, that you feel comfortable sharing, where you kind of stumbled as a leader

and it taught you something?

Well yeah, I mean, I was a young gung-ho,

I'd gotten out of the army, I was go kill everybody, get ahead, you know, I wanted

people to bring me coffee and wash my car like I saw all the other people

doing. By the time I got there I really learned that... I went out to El Paso Texas to

visit one of my managers as I said a minute ago, I got there, and he had been

transported to the hospital. He had actually fainted from the stress of me

coming, they apparently told me, and he was brought back that night. He was okay.

We had dinner and he told me that. It was really embarrassing to me that... My mother

and grandmother would kill me if they knew that I behaved like that because I

knew better. But it's insecurity and it's wanting to get ahead and you know, and

sometimes we don't do what we know is right, and it's mainly insecurity.

I've said, any time anybody yells at you, intimidates you, scares you, raises their

voice to you, that's a very insecure person. So I'm still insecure but I

got over it. So I'm putting on a good face these days but I just learned that

it's about them, it's not about me. I mean in those days ,I thought it was about me.

I wanted a company car and the bonus and stock options, all that stuff and now the

most satisfying thing that happens to me in the last half of my career is people

calling me and saying thanks for what you taught me, thanks for having

that hard conversation with me or thank you for what you did for me and that is

much more satisfying than the bonus, because when I got a bonus, I always thought it was

too little. When I got a car, I wanted a bigger one. When I got, you know, but

appreciation, I mean, it's a it's a jewel and I just I get them every

day now. I hear from people 10 years ago, even with my podcast, I hear from young

people saying "I've learned so much from that podcast, I'm renting your books,

it's why I got promoted. I started practicing what you told us, and I just

got promoted to manager." And I'm going like whoa!

But that is extremely satisfying, you know. It's about what legacy you want to

leave: that you were a jerk or that you helped other people. And I'm glad I

switched over.
