Good morning social media! This is Stoddard Worman. It is a beautiful sunny

day here in Indianapolis and I hope it is beautiful wherever you are! Today this

video is all about our special guest I'd referenced him earlier this week but he

is the man, the myth the legend, Mr. Lee Cockerell. Welcome to Stoddard Worman's

LinkedIn video series. How are you sir?

I'm good Stoddard! Good to be with you this morning.

Appreciate having you, appreciate having you. I've came up with a list

of questions and I appreciate you taking the time, just gonna go ahead and

run some by you and try to hear some thoughts of yours about what

leadership is to you and your experiences with your time at Disney.

Lee Cockerell is the previous Executive Vice President of Walt Disney World

Resort so he was over all of them. I mean you're talking the ESPN Complex, the Resorts, you

name it. And that experience of, I believe the website said over 40,000 employees,

or cast members I should say, that is quite the depth of reach

when it comes to teaching leadership and there's a lot of people in this

world, especially on LinkedIn, that they like to walk the talk (talk the walk), they give

themselves "Leadership Expert" titles and stuff and we're fortunate enough here to

have a true leadership expert with us so thank you for being here Mr. Lee.

In your words tell us what it means to be a leader.

Well you know leadership is

interesting to me because when I started out my career I 'd never even heard that

word. I didn't know anything about it. I was a young kid and 20 years old and I worked

for Hilton Hotels for 8 years and it was all just about getting the job done,

and didn't much matter how you got it done. So I was a good manager as I got

more experience but I hadn't heard about this leadership: how you treat

people, how you listen to everyone, how their opinion counts, and respect, and so

about halfway through my career I kind of had a stumble in my career. I had

a guy tell me he was totally terrified I was coming to visit him and he had never

met me, I'd never met him, and after that I start thinking about it. I started

going to some leadership seminars, 2 or 3 days, I started reading more about

leadership, about people who didn't have official leadership responsibilities but

people like Martin Luther King and Mandela and all these people who got

followers and so I started to get better and not today I know, in my

opinion, it's about the I'm not the boss, I'm a teacher and I try to think about

teaching people, being a good role model, setting the example, clarity of

expectations, that there's no misunderstanding when we talk to each

other about what I expect, and you can talk to me about what you expect, then we

get on the same path. Giving clear, candid feedback so they can be better. It's not

for me, it's for them. I always talk about people, I say manage like a

mother. You know mothers do it because they love you and if you respect your

people, you tell them the truth, you help them, you're there for them, you try to

build their self-esteem and self-confidence and belief in themselves and

I always said, mothers don't care if you're happy, they care if you're

successful. So I focused on that I had a lot of people not happy when I had

some talks with them over the years but today I hear back from them thanking me

for those days which they didn't appreciate so much then.

We're here for a short time and I think now, I wake up every morning and have

four years, how can I make people's day better, and not make it worse like I

used to. My nickname was Doberman when I was young in my career and now

it's Cocker-Spaniel, so I don't fight anymore. I try to build strong

relationships, I try to build trust. I want people to trust me that they'll

tell me the truth so I can help them, tell them the truth so I can help them,

and it's just trying to make people better and so they can be more

successful and have more influence in the world and I always say that too many

people underestimate the influence they have with other people, everyday, all of

the strangers in the grocery store, on the highway, friends, family, wife, kids,

and I understand that. I'm quite aware that my behavior matters and I have to

be careful what I say and do and not send the wrong message

and I think I try to help people understand, not to misunderstand what

they can do in life. Too many people underestimate the achievements they can

have because of, who knows, when they were little, or their family, or their poverty,

or education, or whatever it was, and I think every day about trying to

understand people and help them get over that and move on. I tell everybody,

"Your brain lies to you! There's a bunch of stuff up there that's not true!"

It's called a lack of self confidence and who knows what created it but we need a new

software in our brains so I try to put that software in people's brain so

they believe in themselves and can move forward and be successful

hey guys it's me Melissa Haole and thank you so much for joining me today.

Now I've been thinking wow it's been way too long since I've given you guys an

update on my Color Street journey, my last one was only five months into the

Color Street business and now i'm over nine months so I've just finished nine

months and it's time to give you guys the scoop on how it's been for me and guys I

don't even know what to say it's amazing, amazing I can't even tell you I can't

even tell you it's crazy so if you are interested in seeing what I've been

doing where I've been going and what is going on with Color Street in these last few

months then please keep watching. Now when I started with Color Street I had

no idea what was gonna happen I just knew that I loved the product and

I wanted to be involved and I wanted to earn some free nail sets for myself so I

also decided to write from the get-go to kind of film some updates so you guys as

you were watching me could see what my journey was with this direct marketing

company called color Street no I do have to apologize because my last update was

when I had finished five months with color street and guys I'm halfway

through my tenth month right now so this update will be from when I started all

the way through the end of my ninth month and guys oh my gosh so exciting so

many crazy wonderful things has happened since I started my journey so I'm really

looking forward to sharing that with you now one of the things that happened

since my last update was spring I know we're in summer now but bear with me

spring happen in chemistry it brought us 20 new nail sets let me show you guys a

few of my favorites I think pretty much everybody flipped when they saw this

amazing set called Atlantis it looks like mermaid tails and as you can see in

this photo I paired it with a solid Saigon Queen which is also one of the

new sets that they delivered us in a spring launch and this one is Capitol

Hill this one is a beautiful ombre glitter it has a little bit of Tokyo

lights in it reminds me a lot of Vegas vixen and then actually in this photo

you can see the little flowers are for my blueberries did you guys know that I

grow organic blueberries it's not like a huge like farm or anything we just have

a few bushes that we grow for our own family and right now it's actually

harvest time so we've been enjoying a lot of blueberries lately and then they

surprised us with the patriotic collection and look how beautiful these

sets are and know what I love is that they gave us some glitters that were

just blue and red so they could use them any time of the year no it's no surprise

that color Street has been giving us amazing sets at the

holidays again Halloween Christmas st. Patrick's Day

patriotic collection and end we knew that we have two main launches we have a

fall launch and a spring launch but then they surprise us with an extra summer

launch now the summer one was really fun because they didn't give us any sneak

peeks until the day before so I had actually pulled my Facebook group what

would you guys like and I mentioned that I would love dark coral glitter and

guess what color street deliver do you think they're watching me hmm I don't

think so I am also loving the design Fiji shores look how amazing these

little footprints are in the sand so cute especially because we're going on

vacation soon and we're doing a beach vacation so I'm really excited to wear

that set so chemistry has been very busy providing us with an amazing new

selection for you guys and I can't wait to see what they come up with next but

what else is new well what is my shopping group has grown now you guys

know that you can always shop with me by going to WWE TLC calm but I also have a

Facebook group where we've built a community of nail lovers and I love that

community because it gives me the opportunity to get to know you guys and

I love connecting with my shoppers I love knowing that Rebecca loves glitters

and Christina love solids and it's just fun to see you guys when

you post nail fees that's what we call a selfie but of your nails when you post

them I can see how you're combining your color street are you somebody that likes

to layer your looks do you like to have that flashy accent nail so I just want

to take this moment to thank you guys for being in my facebook group for

growing with me and how many of you guys have grown my group my group has gotten

a lot larger since I started and in part it's because of you guys because you've

been going around with your color straight someone saw an amazing design

asked you about it and you could have stopped with just oh it's color straight

but many of you are saying it's color Street let me show you the group you

should join and you're taking them right to my Facebook group and I really

appreciate that so thank you guys so much for being part of my community now

if you're not part of my Facebook group what are you waiting for a head on over

we do lots of giveaways to and it's just a fun so come on over and join the group

now I know some of you are wondering what Melissa give me the numbers I want

to know if I'm gonna make money if I join color Street well I'm not gonna

give you the numbers but what I can say is I've consistently

bonus qualified since I started now bonus qualifying is equivalent of having

300 dollars in sales in one given month so in addition to bonus qualifying every

month since I started which I'm really proud I last few months have been crazy

like crazy awesome last month was my best by far like we're talking over six

times bonus qualifying so if you're wondering can you make money selling

mail strips yes you can now if you want to make big

money then you might want to think about building a team alright so let's talk

team now this is really exciting for me because this has exceeded all of my

expectations I knew that the product was amazing and I didn't think it'll be that

hard to sell definitely selling on a higher rate than I thought I would but

let's talk the team because this is where it gets crazy

so when I started in September I didn't have anyone enroll with me until January

so it was kind of slow but that's okay because for me I was getting my feet wet

I was learning the business and I was just learning how to grow my group and

to increase my sales and then in January I had my first inquiry on joining the

business so I had my first color straight nail stylist enroll and then I

had a second one and then my upline gifted me a stylist yeah did you know

that they can gift you stylists so let me talk about that a little bit so when

you are a team leader or above that's a rank with color street you are given

this option called a placement button and that means when you have someone

enroll with you you can still act as their sponsor but

you can also give them another sponsor as well so they have two people fully

invested on them to help them build their business and I still get paid the

same the person that I placed them and gets an additional stream of revenue and

it's just a win-win for everybody so I think because I was consistently bonus

qualifying and I was growing my own team and showing that I am invested in those

people that are on my team I was gifted that additional stylist so in January I

had three stylists on my team well let's fast forward that after June I now have

51 stylist on my team I know it's actually crazy

in June alone I enrolled nine stylist personally so it's just been crazy crazy

awesome so a big part of my time is building resources for new stylist as

they enroll with me or if they enroll with people on my team because everybody

that's in my downline which would be team palace rebels and

will have access to my group and in there I've structured albums so that

basically if you want to get started on your own and you are familiar with you

know Facebook and those types of things you could basically go through all of

the albums that I have and get you from point A to B you will be up and running

in no time now if technology is something that is a

barrier for you don't let it be I have a background in software training and

marketing and you know I'm happy to walk people through the process as well so I

have set up so that a if you are a self-starter you can just come on in

you'll find all the resources you need to get started or it's a place where I

can reference you to things so hey let's talk about setting up an ale bar well

here's a video watch that and then we'll work together on getting one set up I

also wanted to make sure that this was a resource so that way when you're in a

beginning stylist and you have someone joining your team you can also train

them using that same system okay well let's talk about ranks I've also gone

through a few different ranks I think the last update I was a senior stylist I

then went to the status of a team leader so I did get that placement button so if

you do enroll with me you get me and you get the support of someone on my team

and then I also recently last month Frank - a director level so I'm really

really excited about that and it just means that in order to rank within color

Street your team needs to be successful you can't rank in color Street unless

the people underneath you are also ranking now if you're interested in

learning more about our ranks and what those mean just send me a message and

I'm happy to talk to you about our compensation plan the ranking structure

team building all that stuff just let me know I think my biggest struggle with

making this video for you guys was that it just seems too good to be true but

really guys Keller Street has been amazing for their stylist they have also

given us additional incentives to help us meet our goals things that I was

gonna do anyway but that's okay I'll take free schwag and things like I got a

makeup bag with a color street logo I got a t-shirt that says color Street on

there and then also my upline is amazing I've got a very supportive up lineup I'd

like to think that I'm very supportive for the women that enroll on my team but

my upline also gives us so many resources for nail

bars and graphics and just information on how to improve with selling so it's

just been seriously an amazing journey and I cannot wait to see what's next for

color Street anyway thank you guys again so much for watching I hope you found
