North Korean leader Kim Jong Un made good on his promise to demolish his country's nuclear test site, which was formally closed in a series of huge explosions Thursday as a small group of foreign journalists watched

The explosions at the test site deep in the mountains of the North's sparsely populated northeast were supposed to build confidence ahead of a planned summit next month between Kim and President Donald Trump

But Trump cancelled the meeting on Thursday, citing "tremendous anger and open hostility" in a North Korean statement released earlier in the day

The blasts were centred on three tunnels at the underground site and a number of buildings in the surrounding area

North Korea held a closing ceremony afterward with officials from its nuclear arms program in attendance

The group of journalists that witnessed the demolition, which touched off landslides near the tunnel entrances and sent up clouds of smoke and dust, included an Associated Press Television crew

North Korea's state media called the closure of the site part of a process to build "a nuclear-free, peaceful world" and "global nuclear disarmament

" "The dismantling of the nuclear test ground conducted with high-level transparency has clearly attested once again to the proactive and peace-loving efforts of the DPRK government being made for assuring peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula and over the world," the North's official news agency reported late Thursday

You have surely had Chinese food in America,

so you already know that the taste of Chinese food cannot be replicated.

But Chinese food made in America is missing Chinese food's most important point. Its not authentic Chinese food!

The first time I tried Chinese food made in China, my mind was blown!

It didn't have the taste of most Chinese foods manufactured in America at all!

Also, most Chinese foods in China go for cheap prices.

A bowl of noodles goes for around 25-30 yuan, or around 4-6 US Dollars.

One of Shanghai's most famous foods is the steamed bun.

This food's specialties are on the outside as well as the inside:

The skin of the steamed bun is made with raised flour,

making it tender, smoother, and somewhat translucent, rather than being white and fluffy like a normal bun.

Sometimes, the only thing inside a steamed bun is pork,

but most of the time the core is filled with soup with a thin outer layer of pork to keep the soup from falling out.

The steamed bun originated in Nanxiang, where it moved to Shanghai and became famous there.

Another unique Chinese food is the 1000 year old fermented egg.

My LiDa partner told me that many foreigners felt that the preserved eggs looked weird,

but thought the egg actually tasted better than the eggs they ate in the US.

The egg takes alot of skill to make, as it requires the cook to perfectly ferment eggs, clay, ash, salt, quicklime and rice husks.

I think China's most infamous food is stinky tofu.

There are many variants of stinky tofu, including cold, steamed, stewed, or, most commonly, deep fried, and is often accompanied by chili sauce.

Many people say that the odor of stinky tofu is like stinky feet,

but there is a saying that the stinkier the tofu, the tastier it is.

The first time you try Chinese food made in China, you might think the flavor is a little unusual.

However, I'm sure the 3rd or 4th time you have it you will grow to like it, and might even become ADDICTED!
