hi everyone I'm gonna do my application assignment on chapter two
I'm doing mine on determinism and freewill
so I'm going to basically dive into this topic I think that it's been plagued by
both interpretive and objective thinkers for me I feel that both free will and
determinism play a big part in how we view everything as far as you know our
world I believe they both kind of share an
integral part of the equation so when I first went to college in my experience I
felt like I was faced with a lot of different choices that I had to deal
with I remember going into my first semester
it was more about getting adjusted to being on my own without my parents
or anyone telling me you know hey you have to get up you have to go do this
you have to you know be on time here you know so I chose to sleep rather then attend
that 8 a.m. class so those were consequences that I ultimately had to
deal with and so they they did have like any good choice that had a cause and
effect and so I didn't do very well that first semester in fact that first
attempt at college as I made some choices where I decided to do either an
activity or not attend class and so it was something that helped me grow you
know definitely because I felt like I was able to gain some knowledge some
social knowledge as opposed to the academic that I was seeking and so I
mean moving on when I met my wife we had that instant connection
where you know we both knew we had found that one person that we we were looking
for so from an early age for me I've always been one that has subscribed to
the everybody has someone out there for them
and so there there's somebody that's that's already destined for it and so
with that I just feel like that's my hereditary determinism that's you know
tells me that that's the way it is just because I grew up seeing my parents have
a real solid marriage and I knew that there was somebody out there that was
for me and I could start a family with and be just as happy so with that I mean
I consider myself to be a religious person and so I do believe in God and
that he created the heaven and earth then the Scriptures the way it's written
is that he did create the earth in seven days and I fully believe that you know
because I believe that our seven days is completely different to what's written
and and I feel that it's it was over time and in seven days in theology is
completely different than what we view seven days as I believe you know I
understand that I've grown up with just knowing this bit of information as far
as you know going to church going this Bible study class and going through all
of that information so I understand that that was the hereditary part of it
however going deeper and knowing the knowledge and gaining all of what I know
also just looking at all the different aspects of it I feel as though
that gave me the choice to pursue it to continue because I feel that we get to a
certain point and we have that free will that we're able to make that choice to
continue to what we've learned and what we believe so in conclusion I can see
how both views of human nature have a point I feel that we're groomed to think
in a certain way from you know our parents teaching us and even if we don't
have parents just the way we view society I just feel that we have that
hereditary nature but we also at a certain point have that free will
that we're able to change how we view the world as well in our minds so thank
you for listening have a good day
