Baha® 5 Sound Processor – Making of video - Duration: 2:53.
Let me tell you about how we developed the Baha 5 Sound Processor.
We started by asking the question:
"What do you want from your future sound processor?"
The answer?
"Great hearing performance, but in a smaller and more discreet package."
So our first challenge was to find out how we could shrink
the size of the sound processor, but still make sure it was loud enough.
So we had to develop a totally new technology, we call BCDrive.
With this breakthrough we are able to design
and produce transducers that are more than twice as efficient
as the traditional design.
That let us reduce the size of the Baha 5,
without losing the power the sound processor needs
to let you hear better.
Due to the size and accuracy of our components,
we had to automate our assembly.
So we partnered with a company
that normally produces robots for electronics
and precision industries.
There is no off the shelf robot that we could use
that was capable of assembling our product,
so we had to custom build a robot to meet our requirements.
One of the main advantages with a robotic assembly is repeatability
This results in better quality and reliability.
You just can't get that level of accuracy without a robot.
The other thing they told us
was they wanted to connect seamlessly with other devices
such as phones, tablets, and other smart devices,
so the challenge here was to develop a technology
that would provide this direct to device connection.
Our new platform, Ardium Smart, incorporates this technology,
and we collaborated with Apple to make it work.
This means you can now stream audio directly from your iPhone and iPad.
This isn't possible with any other sound processor available today.
And of course, as with any new product,
we needed to make sure that it would work as designed.
We have state of the art testing facilities here in the building.
We conduct lab tests, feedback tests
and of course even home trials in the patient's real life situation.
To carry out all these tests we rely on a
large number of Baha users who form our test team.
They evaluate all the aspects of the sound processor;
from their own personal experiences and their preferences.
It is critical that we have a solid understanding how
the product works and how it performs in the real world
before we release it out the door.
Good luck with the test, see you again in two weeks!
I just got my new Baha 5 Sound Processor. It sounds great! See you soon.

Below, you can see we've included a video from Illuminate education. We believe
that the video does a great job at explaining the role of assessment and
reporting in the teaching cycle. Go ahead and click the video, it'll pop you out to
another tab, and then when you're done, come back to the presentation and we'll
continue to the next slide.

ANY Chromecast MKV/AVI/FLV Local & Remote Videos Demos & WebDAV ⇨ Watch On 4G From Your Phone - Duration: 26:58.
Hi Guys, As a follow-up to my Chromecast and Apple TV MKV/AVI/FLV etc.
Remote Link Casting videos I will be showing how you can Cast your local NAS videos to
your Chromecast as well as howto create a library with thousands of Movie and TV show
links of ANY file type that you can watch on 4G while out and about
or share with family and friends on road trips then Cast onto ANY WIFI to ANY Chromecast.
One of my future video post will be how to watch MKV video Links from the Chrome Browser.
Yes MKV videos from a browser with a DIY html playlist script with continuous looping that
can be Cast to one or more Chromecast simultaneously or streamed to any streaming Device or Smart
TV using VLC (show Roku/ATV/FTV/SmartTV).
So if you interested in knowing how to do this then subscribe to be notified when I
post.
So let's get started.
First I'll show how you can cast local MKV/AVI/FLV video files on a NAS drive to a Chromecast
and Apple TV using the Player Xtreme Pro App for Chromecast Usage.
show 3 files then cast from nas
Now I'm demoing an autoplay Casting of these file types from remote video file links that
I placed in m3u8 file containers that are playable on the Player Xtreme Pro App which
transcodes the videos before Casting.
Make sure to go into the Menu settings and change the default Playback Engine to Xtreme
vs. Auto.
If you run into a file being skipped while trying to re-watch its link then go to Settings
>> General >> Clear Cache.
(Applicable For Video Links)
If you are trying to re-cast a previously watched NAS video you may need to exit out
and come back into the directory then re-select the video.
As you can see the movie links only take up 1KB of space and work the same as if you have
the physical mp4/mkv file stored using the Player Xtreme App.
Please NOTE when you locate webfolders on the world wide web you need to cut and paste
a few test links into VLC to make sure the site has a decent upload speed.
If the video is buffering every few seconds you will need look for another site.
Next I'm going to upload a few m3u8 video links onto the player xtreme library using
its http file transfer interface.
1000 videos links take up around 1 MB of storage space.
I tend to split up the files into alphabetical categories like A Thru K etc. because it can
take some time to scroll through thousands of files when they are all dumped into one
single folder.
These m3u8 links are playable on 4G and can be taken with you watchable on ANY Wifi on
ANY Chromecast since the Player Xtreme App does the transcoding on the fly from your
phone.
I have a video using my m3u8 utility which I will link down below that can create a maximum
of 600 http m3u8 file containers from a single M3u video file which are then accessibile
as an autoplay playlist via the Player Xtreme Pro App.
But Today I'm going to show you a makeshift way of creating a m3u8 file container using
DOS commands that will only contain a single video file link which are playable on the
Player Xtreme App and can be cast to a Chromecast.
You will need the notepad++ Application which is a powerful freeware text editor and you'll
need to locate a website with Movie and TV show links from the tons of webfolders on
the World Wide Web which has minimal upload buffering otherwise the stream will not run.
Google can be you best friend for that task.
You should use VLC to confirm that the video links will play ok and Finally you will need
the FireFox Browser extension Copy Selected Links.
I'm using an old Browser extension CopyUrlsExpert.
The Notepad++ software link will be in the description box below.
Obviously another thing you can do is just open up notepad copy the link in there and
then give the file a name and save it as .m3u8 so if you just have a few links you can just
go ahead and manually create the file and then access those links using the playerxtreme
App.
So here is a typical website with several Movie and TV shows links.
I will demo extracting links from sites like this and placing each link into separate files
using DOS commands then upload them to the Player Xtreme App.
Here I've created a webfolder mockup.
The required m3u8 file creation steps are:
First Select all the Movie and TV Show links you are interested in watching on your Chromecast
using the FireFox's Copy Selected Links to Notepad++
Select CTRL A then right click then Copy Selected Links and Paste.
Remove any non-video links retrieved.
Once ALL links have been extracted.
Search and Bookmark Rows that contain .mkv, .mp4 or .avi and move those entries to a new
file.
Navigate to:
Edit>>Find>>Mark>>CheckBox Bookmark line>> Enter .mkv >> Select Mark All
Enter .mp4 >> Select Mark All Enter .avi >> Select Mark All
Navigate to:
Search>>Bookmark>>Copy Bookmarked Lines
Then copy these entries into a New document.
column editor Select CheckBox Bookmark
Search Find Then Mark All For: .MKV, .MP4 and .AVI entries
Make a second copy of these entries.
One file will contain the video's http links and the other will contain the m3u8 file name.
Now in the first file Add a blank space in front of http: or https: then ADD line numbers
to this file so that we can merge the two files back together.
Select Ctrl A
Navigate To:
Edit>>Column Editor>>Select Number to Insert>>Initial Number 1>> Increase by 1>>Leading zeros
Now let's edit the second file which is the m3u8 title's file:
Search and replace forward slash "/" with a "\n" which stands for a new line
Select Ctrl A
Navigate To:
Search>>Replace>>Find "/" >> Replace With >> "\n" >> Make Sure Search Mode Extended
is Selected
Change .mkv to .mkv.m3u8 Change .mp4 to .mp4.m3u8
Change .avi to .avi.m3u8
Now Bookmark all lines that contain either a .mkv, .mp4 or .avi to pull out the video
file names without their folder directory details.
Copy those Bookmark Rows to a new file.
Check that the number of records match the 1st file with the Http links.
If it does not then it means that a link had .mp4 ,.mkv or .avi within the file's name
and you will need to manually scan and fix it by removing the incorrect newline break
entry.
Rename or remove any invalid file name characters otherwise the file creation will fail.
In the first http file change .mkv to .mkv> or .mp4 to .mp4> or .avi to .avi> there should
not be any blank lines prior to the greater than sign.
Please Note: Upper or Lower case MUST match the original file name or the file will not
be found.
Here the original file was .AVI in capital letters and I initially changed it to .avi
lowercase and when I tried to access it I got a file name error so I had to change it
back to Capital .AVI.
Now Add line numbers to the M3u8 titles file and insert it into file number 1 and sort.
Navigate To:
Edit>>Line Operations>>Sort Lines Lexicographically Ascending
Next remove the line numbers
Press The ALT key & Left Mouse Key then hightlight all the row numbers and press the Delete Key
once all has been selected
Remove all line breaks
Ctrl A Navigate To:
Edit>>Line Operations>>Join Lines
and finally re-insert line breaks after.m3u8
Navigate To:
Search>>Replace>>Find ".m3u8" >> Replace With >> .m3u8"\n" >> Make Sure Search Mode Extended
is Selected
Make sure there are no Blank spaces after .m3u8 or the http links will have a blanks
after the file's link name and will display not found errors.
Change the blank in front of http: and https: to "echo ".
Now give the file a name and save all changes and rename the .txt to .bat and run it from
the Dos Command Prompt.
Validate that the file links do not contain blank spaces and run from VLC.
Please note as mentioned I do have both a m3u and m3u8 generator utility that you could
use instead of this makeshift process but these DOS commands run a lot quicker and there
is no limit on how many links can be run at one time.
I will link their setup details down below.
Copy all m3u8 files to the playerxtreme app using the browser's http and move them to
appropriate folders.
If you run into a file being skipped while trying to re-watch its link go to Settings
>> General >> Clear Cache.
Here I have over 4000 m3u8 Movie links.
I usually copy most of these TV and Movie links onto a Sandisk Wireless FlashDrive and
pick and choose what to watch or copy.
I prefer to only copy video links that I watch regularly or plan to watch in the near future
onto my Phone since it is a lot of files to scroll through.
You can watch the movie links directly from the Sandisk Wireless Flashdrive via webdav
by connecting to its wifi on 4G or copy the links to the Player Xtreme library on your
phone then move them to a folder and Cast to ANY Chromecast.
