Pictures in your video - Jesse's Tips & Tricks - Duration: 3:19.
Hello everyone.
Welcome to a new episode of...
Jesse's Tips & Tricks
Today we will be dealing with pictures in our video edit.
Pictures?!?
I know, I know, I know.
All is film.
And in a perfect world you would always have video footage as b-roll.
But since Seattle lost the Supersonics and the treaty of Tordesillas has once been signed...
this is obviously not a perfect world!
So a filmer might send you pictures to use as b-roll.
Let's just make it as awesome as possible!
Here are my tips to do so.
One thing we never want to see is a static still frame without any movement.
If you're watching a video and suddenly there's no movement whatsoever…
The viewer will be like, wait, is it broken, is it still loading?
I still hear the audio…
What's going on, I'm freaking out here!
So, whatever you do, we never ever want to see static still frames!
At the most basic level, you could zoom in or zoom out a little.
A little movement is all it takes.
And remember, zooming in, even if it's just little bit, will draw the viewers attention...
to what you're zooming into.
While zooming out takes the attention from a certain subject...
and places it in a broader perspective.
To make things easy on yourself when you want to zoom into a certain subject...
first place the anchor point at that subject.
Now you can just scale and you don't have to adjust the position...
since it will zoom in and out to the anchor point.
To add a little smoothness to the movement, give your keyframes some easing.
Instead of just having a simple movement from A to B...
easing out the first keyframe of the movement gives it a nice take off...
while easing in the last keyframe will give it a smooth landing!
Especially the ease in at the end is important...
because it really gives the impression that the movement has reached its destination.
It can be a bit confusing when to use ease out and when to use ease in.
Well, you start the movement with ease out and end it with ease in.
An easy way to remember: You come OUT of your mamma, and go IN to the grave.
To make things more interesting, you can also give your picture a bit of 3d movement.
To do so, go to the effects panel, video effects, perspective and choose basic 3d.
Now apply basic 3d to your picture.
This is what Swivel does.
And this happens when you change the values in Tilt.
Play around with it, but don't overdo it!
Stay subtle.
Make sure you scale enough so the picture covers the entire video frame.
And, like when zooming, always end the movement with an ease in.
With some scaling, swivel and tilt, you can easily make pictures in your video edit...
look more interesting in a matter of seconds.
Can we do more advanced things with our pictures?
Absolutely!
Do we have time for that in this episode?
No.
As you can see…
It's easy as 1, 2, 3!

TS Bright - Overrunning Order (Music Video) - Duration: 1:59.
Don't know why I'm doing this
But it seems
Important and
I heard there is
No connections or ground
For anything
I guess I believed in it a bit
If you get lost
Remember how we were
Taught to climb the tallest tree
To see more
But the thing
Is most of those
Who got there chose
Chose to stay there
You can not define pet fish
Other than
Irresponsible
But they have a plan
One serene night
You will hear
Fish tank walls groaning
And suddenly
Water's overrunning
You go to the bottom
You can not win
But the thing
Is most of those
Who got there chose
Chose to stay there
