Cold Case Homicide #41 for 1997 - Duration: 2:17.

Gracelyn Greenidge was a 41 year old nursing assistant who worked at a

seniors residence on Christie Street. She led an exemplary life and was respected

by all who knew her. On Monday, July 28th, 1997, she worked her regular shift from

3 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.. On Tuesday, July 29th, 1997, she failed to report for work.

The staff at the seniors home became concerned as this was out of character

for her. Gracelyn had resided alone for four years in an apartment at

50 Driftwood Avenue. A fellow worker went to this address to check on her. There was

no response to the knocks on her apartment door. Through the mail slot

Gracelyn could be seen on the floor covered in blood. The police were called

and the victim was found deceased on the floor. It was apparent that a violent

struggle had taken place between the victim and the killer. The cause of death

was blunt force trauma. As a result of a DNA examination, a male DNA profile was

developed. A number of individuals connected to the victim have been

eliminated. We have the killer's DNA, now we just need a name to go with the DNA,

nothing more. This killer is not currently in the national DNA databank.

Anyone that knew Gracelyn that did not speak to the police during the original

investigation is asked to contact cold-case investigators immediately.

You may have the key to this case and not even realize it. There is no doubt that

there are people that are close to this offender or were close to him back at

the time of the offense and you know he did this, I am confident of that.

It has been over 20 years since this murder occurred, it is time to step up and help

solve this case. The Chief of Police has authorized up to a $50,000

reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or

persons responsible for this murder. If you want to remain anonymous that is okay,

we have his DNA, so all we need from you is his name, nothing more.
