SARAH: Are round bales healthy enough for horses to eat?

Do they provide enough minerals to help maintain a healthy diet

in horses?

DR LYDIA GRAY: Interesting that they went with minerals

specifically because that wouldn't be where I'd go.

So gosh I feel like I'm the negative Nellie here.

But I don't like salt blocks.

I don't like round bales.

What do I like?

SARAH: You like research?

DR LYDIA GRAY: I do.

Oh--

SARAH: Feral ponies.

DR LYDIA GRAY: --shoo thank god.

So--

SARAH: We like a lot of things.

DR LYDIA GRAY: --round bales, they have their place.

They're easy.

They're cheaper.

They're convenient.

So if you're not out there every day,

you can put a round bale down and the horses have food.

But to me, the risks outweigh the benefits

in that you don't know what each horse is getting.

And I've seen horses pushed off round bales,

not allowed their space in.

And it's typically the seniors.

SARAH: Which is wrong.

DR LYDIA GRAY: Which is wrong.

They're already losing weight and having problems.

And then they're getting bullied off the round bale.

So you have to make sure that there's space for everybody.

The hardest thing, though, is it takes a little bit of effort

to make the hay in a round bale remain quality.

Because if you sit a round bale out in the weather--

we wouldn't sit a square bale out in the rain

and leave it for days and weeks.

SARAH: Right.

DR LYDIA GRAY: But that's how many people feed round bales.

So if you want to keep a round bale,

they can start out with really high quality hay.

But--

SARAH: Because they're grown the same--

DR LYDIA GRAY: It's the same.

SARAH: --way as square bales.

DR LYDIA GRAY: Yeah, right.

SARAH: It's just how they're baled.

DR LYDIA GRAY: Right.

But if you don't set it up off the ground,

if you don't cover it, then it's going to get wet,

it's going to mold.

The other thing in some parts of the country, because of the way

it's wrapped, and air doesn't get

into the middle-- it gets into the outer edges-- if you're in

and area of the country has botulism, that's a risk.

So there are some risks to round bales.

They do make small hole hay nets that fit round bales

SARAH: Oh.

DR LYDIA GRAY: So it slows--

SARAH: So it's a--

DR LYDIA GRAY: --consumption.

SARAH: --very large small hole hay net.

DR LYDIA GRAY: Correct.

SARAH: OK.

DR LYDIA GRAY: Versus a very small large hole hay net.

SARAH: Which would be confusing.

DR LYDIA GRAY: Yeah.

So you can slow consumption down.

You can regulate it, make it more consistent.

You can reduce wastage.

Wastage is a big problem with the round bales

because they step on it, they'll defecate and urinate on it.

But it just is such inconsistent nutrition

as you penetrate further into the round bale.

And if it's left to the environment, exposed,

I can't tell who's eating what.

And the easy keepers tend to gorge themselves on it,

and the hard keepers are like, "No, I'm good."

So it works for some people, and it doesn't work for everyone.

It's not a recipe for set it out and leave your horses.

I think you still have to observe your horses closely,

hopefully every day.

When you do what you love, the money will come.

In this video, we're going to talk about some ways to make sure that happens for you.

My name is Kamala Chambers.

I'm an Online Course Launch Strategist and I'm here to tell you that you can absolutely

do what you love and easily make money doing that.

I haven't had a job since I was 19 years old.

For the last 14 years, I've been living by the principles "If you do what you love, the

money will come," and now, I co-own a 6-figure business with my partner Luis Congdon and

we make money while we travel the world.

The very first step is knowing what inspires you.

What is that thing that you absolutely love to do?

If money wasn't an issue for you, what would you be doing?

50% of this is just knowing what you want.

If you know what you want, then it's so much easier to get what you want.

Now, 40% of this is taking action.

Now, if you know what you would love to do and you merge that with action, it's incredible.

You stay motivated.

You stay focused and you do whatever it takes to get to your goal.

Now, the last 10% is trust.

It's the ability to let go and trust that the money will come when you do what you love.

This way of being is not common but to me, it's the most normal way to be doing what

you love every single day of your life.

Trusting that the money is going to come and being an action to get to that place.

When you merge knowing what you want with action and blend that together with trust,

the money will come.

Here's an example.

Let's say, I wanted to be a writer and I've written lots of books.

One of the things that got me closer to that goal is that I knew that I wanted to be a

writer.

Then I sat down and I started writing every single day.

I studied about how to be a better writer.

I read more and then, when I merged that with the trust that the money would come, miracles

happened.

on this trend. But my friend Rikki

tagged me in the #NotMyYouTube

thing.

This is for you Rikki because I don't like doing tags.

But, I'll do it for you.

So the first one is,

"How do you find out about new videos?"

Um, mostly Twitter.

Sometimes I'll click on suggestions that YouTube

gives me but I mostly

find out from Twitter.

The second question:

"What a feature of the site you miss?"

I miss being able to find comments and being able to

answer every comment.

I still have trouble answering comments

because of Google+

and weird things that

won't let me find it. I'll get notifications

of a comment but I can't find it

on my videos to answer back.

And it was a lot easier before everything changed.

Three: "What's your least favorite trend on YouTube?"

The 100 Layer Challenge.

I just think it's a waste.

And most of it just looks disgusting.

Four: "What's the most drastic thing you've done to get

views/subs?"

I have no idea.

I don't think I've done anything drastic.

Five: "Do you have any regrets on YouTube?"

I don't think my name is super clever.

I like using it as a brand.

But I wish I came up with like a really

clever name.

For my channel.

Six: "How has your channel changed since one year ago?"

Definitely my channel has changed on organization.

I now feel like I have

and idea of what I really like to do on my channel

on educating on disability

and making more Latinx content.

A year ago I was just really doing whatever

and I didn't have a direction.

But I think now I do.

Seven: What do you do to support your favorite creator?

I try to share their content as much as possible.

I don't have the funds to support a lot of my favorite creators

on Patreon but if I see their work and I like it

I will put it on Twitter or put it on my Facebook page.

I just try to spread what

my favorite creators are doing that I love.

Eight: "How do you define success?"

If I make something, and I'm happy with it

a week later, for me then that's success.

It's just how I feel about my work.

If it's being recieved well, that's a bonus but

As long as I'm happy with what I'm creating,

I am successful.

Nine: "Are you happy"?

(hums "mhm")

Ten: "Why do you do YouTube and how long

do you think you'll keep doing it?"

Ideally I'd like to do it as long as possible.

I don't really see myself leaving YouTube.

Of course I see myself going off and doing other projects

with acting and activism.

But I want to keep my YouTube channel

available and I want to keep making content for

it because this is the only platform I have for myself

where I'm in full control.

And I decide what I want to say.

And, I can put it out there.

So for a long time, I plan on being on YouTube.

Eleven: "Has YouTube made your life better or worse?"

I would say better.

I have made a lot of great friends

because of YouTube.

I have really been confident in my disability

because of YouTube, because of the Disabled YouTubers

I have met.

And I just don't think I'd be at the place that I am today

if it wasn't for YouTube.
