How to edit videos by using adobe premiere pro tips cc for beginners tutorials

pisac is you on the greaseball I'm a slimeball but I love teaching so do it

means less because you're learning the game from a slimeball should you learn

from a professor should you pay a professor twenty thirty forty thousand

dollars to learn exactly which I wish I could sound like Luther Vandross

I can't sound like Luther man cuz I'm brand kids I sound like a horse meet the

Sun like a saxophone you almost can tell I'm drunk

excuse me but I'm far from drunk I'm very normal I'm very down-to-earth

I'm very I'm I'm together y'all so stop trippin Danny oh man we bout to learn

some manners I'm we're gonna get from the silliness and we're gonna get very

professional and I'm going to teach you guys how to shoot a video shoot a

professional quality music video under any condition i'ma show you how to

properly light it and if you can't light it I'm sure you how to use natural

lighting to get the best quality footage as you possibly can this particular

video we're gonna be doing and and we shot in under natural lighting so imma

show you how to not only shoot it but edit it and not only edit it but color

grading so without further ado please gonna get straight to it fam so buckle

your seatbelts you know I mean get your Yahoo's could you know how we do get the

kool-aid get your look off get your nigga your

sigil and whatever you like to do when you sit back watch these videos cuz this

one by three and a half hours long alright so it's your home the grand

chisel thank you for watching and get your pump on the side note on the for

real for real get your pencil your pen in your notebook so make sure you take

notes grab out your camera's if you don't get the camera guess what

you got an iPhone you got a Samsung just shoot for you can shoot 4k or 1080p on

your doggone phones the same rule applies alright home is a home ass it's

your home agree ztz and we're gonna move on to the next chapter and begin this

true training we're gonna do it with fun ain't gonna be all uptight and stuck-up

now I mean and you ain't paying $100,000 for no cars you're paying your homie

grant is about fashion dollars an hour geez - homies so let's move on all right

welcome back round now we're gonna work on edit

and I'm gonna answer a few questions general questions a lot of people want

to know the timing of a edit when the cut will break you know do you do it to

the rhythm you're not do it to the rhythm is there a particular rule well I

want to say no that's not a particular rule that there is as a fundamental or

principle the principle is not to leave your audience bored

so with that principle you're going to add it according to that

so let's hypothetically say you use another you get a a very slow slow R&B

song or a very slow piano song and you're cutting in your edit in nature

hypothetically there's just hypothetical so you got a slow loving peaceful piano

song and you're showing flowers and birds and trees and water and birds lion

and butterflies you're not gonna use at the Rupp edits you're not gonna use fast

clips you're gonna tip they're reasonably realistically you're gonna

use soft transitions soft transitions peaceful transitions sometimes you might

cut but it depends on the audio and the more tutorials you watch the more you

understand I'll have you do homework assignments and watch other videos and

things like that so if you're doing a nice smooth slow R&B song and the mood

is candle lick the scene is low low light you know just you're basically

working with shadows a lot of shadows with just a few person Luminator you

know like few body parts or maybe close-up so champagne bubbling candle

you're going to use slow fades you then you may have a medium like this was

this won't be kind of medium so this can kind of work with fades or just cuts but

the tempo of the song is going to determine the speed of your cuts so

pretty much like a upbeat you're going to almost kind of edit the video

according to the beat spirit tempo in favor of the song if I could put that

all in the nutshell for you you know I can't put nothing in a nutshell for

y'all because you know I talk too much so for the most part that's how you

would do it alright so with that in mind we're going to go in here and attempt to

start editing now what you're looking at right now is what I did this is a just

kind of a pre pre color grading and color correction and I'm not going to

tell you down with all of the ins and outs of that right now because that's a

tutorial all in itself a lot of times you just plug and play and you edit and

you give the video back to the client this is much more advanced so we're

definitely digging to this because you remember and that's what you know that's

just an for you paying for it you know advanced knowledge but what I did was

sometime I kind of do like a free color gray pre color correction and just if I

can give it to you in a nutshell this is raw coming straight from the from the

camera and this would be considered me I apply a coloration to it that will be

considered correction because this is obviously not the correct look so this

will be considered correction so that's me bringing back the huge the saturation

the curves you know using using these master tools here using exposure

bringing exposure up because it was underexposed obviously bringing the

density up bringing the saturation up so I can bring some color back into his

skin some videos are oversaturated so I my under it depends on what vibe I'm on

right now I'm trying to pump it up a little and then curves as you see we

have the s-curve and you give it a thin film you know film stock use s curve s

curves so that's why they call it s curve and what it does is it it fades

shadows and highlights the way film does so it takes that edge off of that video

look so that's that's pretty much it there we're gonna get back into this and

then of course I that's that's that's some correction and then this would be

considered grading I had a mojo to it and the Mojo is like give it a family

look because what it does is it adds certain blues or certain heels to

shadows so as you see here you know like is it's kind of kind of gotta like a

reddish type of hue to it but if I cut on the Mojo it chants it blue or like a

teal and we're gonna talk about that later on I got some tutorials and I'm

gonna try to check out and help you how to appreciate certain color wheels and

things like that goes very deep very deep and then we add the sharpen and I

can actually add more sharpening than that but we get back into that layer now

the reason why I don't color correct first and then edit is because as you

see if we try to play it back here this won't play real choppy well it's not now

but it's going to playing a little choppy but it's not

gonna play as smooth i fixed on my mistakes wasn't confident in my struggle

and I tried the round plays with and that's okay so right now to make editing

easier I'm just gonna take all of that off all right so now with now let's work

on editing so we're going to move on to the next chapter just the introduction

we will move on to the next chapter and actually start literally doing some edit

and we're gonna walk you through the thought process of it

alright so let's run let's move on and start working

all right if I'm ulema check it out so right now the subject matter is he's

saying that his career is kind of on the stand still in the standstill

because his team is kind of doing a few other things and he's contemplating on

if he should move on without the team or wait on the team if you went on the team

his career kinda understand sterile if he if he if he move on he want to make

sure that he you know keeps his integrity with his team his loyalty to

his team but at the same time you don't want his team to hinder his progress so

if all that you know it's a lot weighing on his mind so sort of tempo ain't gonna

be like we Crump anybody get in Crump just survive I'm just speaking my mind

right now I'm you know I'm kind of feeling things right now so you know

that's kind of what I'm working with so of that we go over here we looked at the

sources the other sources the other b-roll footage and we listen to the

tempo and the speed and the pace of the music we also listen to the core

progressions how does it make you feel yes all those thoughts goes into editing

well a good video director with it would consider all of these thoughts so keep

that in mind so with that gonna play it and we want

to get a feel for it

I crept up on the competition niggas in trouble when they was calling Nancy I

was working doubles that does excuse a please excuse this hustle be carrying my

own weight and I haven't pulled a muscle I fixed on my mistakes wasn't confident

in my struggle and I tried the round plays without pitching into the huddle

with that always resorting to fumble knives gametime Fratellis other niggas

they in trouble the underdog with them Rises on day see it come alright so

we're gonna work with that a little bit so I'm listening to what he's saying

and keep in mind - this was all guerrilla shot see so we kind of

improvise in here on you know the elements and what we're going to move on

and what we're going to be editing so right now with the little bit what he's

saying here and I should have sat down with him a little longer and got a

little bit a little bit more detail but you know work with what we got

so um what we're going to do here is we're gonna start showing some of the

elements representing what he may be feeling or that's gonna come up to that

point so as you see here got like flags I got like you know sports arena I got

the lights I got him standing you know you know little things like that so what

I'm gonna do is let's do it again waves again I crept up on the competition

niggas in trouble when they was calling Nancy I was working doubles okay so we

we kind of established some shots where he's that right here so what we're gonna

do is let me go in here and normally normally I would separate all these

windows I got two monitors I would put this over to the right and I would use

all this as editing but um but we can use this for now alright so we're gonna

first the flag and we're not gonna use the flag first because we don't want

this to be patriotic here right there's not we're not trying to do that we're

not trying to no type of subliminal message the flags

mean absolutely nothing in this video it's just the element that's at this

park you see so keep that in mind here and we're not gonna raise those elements

into the second half so all right so let me find some elements here

see so right there so that's a good establishing shot so we can go from that

and we won't spend too much time on that cuz we don't want anybody think that

we've been you know we try to keep it as unpatriotic you know keep it neutral as

possible so that establishes something that establishes the location where are

they at where are they so we'll put that there and as far as these here keep in

mind all of those assist performance strikes so I'm gonna slide them back

we're gonna bring them in as needed but right now we're going to establish some

other things all right and keep in mind remember too that this is shot in 4k so

um I could play around with pushing things here

I crept up on the competition and by the way I'm I apologize I should have let

y'all know what I just did this is a fade in here and I created this fade in

by holding ctrl and clicking on the timeline here and you can you can pull

them down you can you know you can adjust it if you hold ctrl you can

create a bevel and I'm gonna get more detail about what these things are but

what that does is allow you to apply a little curve to it so that this is a

linear fade and linear means a straight line it's just lying that's what's

called linear line so it's a straight line it's rigid this little curve gives

it more of a softer man as opposed to a solid fade in anyway you know use those

a whole lot when it comes to just editing video like this we use this and

like special effects something like After Effects or something like that but

for the most part we just use that and that's a simple fade in not the

beginning of the tutorial I want to make sure you know I reiterate this you

cannot Adobe allow you to I think it's a 15 or a 30 day free trial before you can

start using it there's other ways obviously you can get it you can there's

different ways that you can get Adobe Premiere but I like to I like working

with the Adobe Premiere and the reason why is because of After Effects and

Photoshop they are work hand-in-hand now we're gonna get into all that later

that's more advanced I just just follow me just stick with me and you're gonna

learn all all of those different things and techniques so anyway I just wanted

to lay that down to you because there's a there's a variety of transitions so

right here we're going to use phase and cuts all right so let's fade it in first

okay

now now right here and it's it now movement and feel got a lot to do with

things too so we're gonna keep that in mind movement and feel so it I'm gonna

feel how long this should be before we cut to something else I will cut here

cuz you don't want it to be too long you gotta keep in mind yet yeah you

entertain it you don't want to bore bore your viewers so you got to be careful

how long you keep things there's a lot of random shots here so they work

walking to practice I want to cut we're not gonna cut here cuz this is like the

same shot you got to give it a little bit of variety so we're cut over here

this is a different angle and they're doing something different here so I stay

I'll make sure I don't pick nothing wobbly oh sorry about that I don't pick

anything wobbly or unsteady unless I did it on purpose so for example here I'm

still established for my camera see you saw the camera shaking and this is

wobbling okay it look like it's established right here and you're

standing ok now we're not see none of those right now I'm just establishing my

camera you don't need so I would immediately take it from there

so now we get a sense of what's going on okay he's that he's at the field all

right so now let's see how these two clips play

4K Video Explained – Understanding 4K Video Resolution & Pros and Cons of Shooting 4K vs 1080p - Duration: 4:56.

So what's the big deal with 4k? We hear everywhere now. There's 4k cameras, 4k TVs,

4k on your phone. What does 4k even mean and should you be shooting with it?

Hey everyone, Camber here with you in Alaska, and today we're talking about

video resolutions and which one you should use for your films. And if you're

new here this channel is all about teaching you how to use your camera to

make good videos, so if that's you consider subscribing.

Now when 4k first started getting popular in cameras, people would argue

that you don't need to shoot in 4k because no one even has anything to

watch it on. But now there's plenty of TVs and monitors that can display 4k

footage and do it justice, and 4k footage will even look sharper on smaller

screens that aren't 4k compatible. So what is 4k anyways? 4k is a video

resolution, or in other words it's the size of your picture. So the minimum

standard for high-definition footage, also known as HD, is 720p; and this is

1280 by 720 pixels giving you just over nine hundred and twenty thousand pixels.

And the next step up from that is Full HD, also known as 1080p, which is 1920 by

1080 pixels giving you just over 2 million pixels in your image. So the next

up in line is Ultra HD, also known as 4k, and this gives you 3840 by 2160

pixels, just under 8.3 million pixels in your image. So the obvious benefit of 4k

is that it has way more pixels and will provide a much sharper image, however

just because you shoot in 4k doesn't mean your final product has to be in 4k.

If you don't need to export in 4k, you can still shoot in 4k and export in

1080p. But why would you do this? Because this will greatly increase the detail

and quality of your footage because you're packing all those extra pixels

into a smaller package. So let's say you're editing and you look at a shot

that isn't framed quite how you want it. And since you're using 4k footage in a

1080 timeline, you have four times the amount of pixels so you can crop in and

fix the frame into how you want without having any noticeable decrease

in quality. However, it'd be a bad technique to use this as your go-to

because you want to learn how to frame shots properly, but it is a good fallback

in case things don't turn out quite how you thought they would. And aside from

cropping your image, you also have the ability to add pans or zooms to your

footage in post without any noticeable loss in quality when you're using 4k in

a 1080 timeline. Another benefit of shooting in 4k and exporting in 1080 is

the ability to stabilize your footage in post when you don't have any choice

but to handhold shots. Stabilizing footage in post requires zooming in and

then digitally stabilizing the footage. And you can still do all these things if

you're shooting at 1080p, however since you're having to zoom in,

your image is going to start getting softer and look more pixelated the more

you zoom in. And the 4k makes it work because you have four times the pixels

that you're working with so you can zoom in and still have a clearer picture.

Aside from all these editing benefits of 4k, shooting in 4k is a way to

future-proof your work if you think there's going to be reason for you to

have a higher quality version of that footage. And of course another benefit of

having 4k is the ability to charge more because you are providing a higher

quality video. So there are a lot of good benefits to shooting in 4k, however, there

are some downsides as well. Shooting 4k for an extended period of time can cause

your camera to overheat much quicker than it would if you were shooting at 1080p.

You'll also be limited on your frame rate at 4k as compared to 1080p. The a7Sii

can shoot only 30 frames per second at 4k, but it can do 120 frames per second

at 1080. And the GH5 can shoot 60 frames per second at 4k, but it can do 180

frames per second at 1080. Since your files are much bigger at 4k, that's going

to require you to have larger memory cards and hard drives for storage and

backup of your footage. And these larger files will also cause a greater demand

on your computer processor and increase your editing time. However, you can always

edit with proxy files and then switch back to 4k once your editing is complete.

More on that in the future when we get to editing. And finally, exporting times

for your 4k project will be greater than they are for 1080p. So overall, remember

that story is the most important part of your video.

Shooting in 4k will not guarantee that your video is good, but it can enhance a good story.

And that's all I got for 4k, so if you made

it this far, hit that thumbs up. Let me know down below what resolution you

prefer to record and edit with. Go ahead and subscribe if you haven't, and

remember that the only way to get better at something is to practice. So get out

there and film something. See you soon.
