Narrator: Welcome to Chattahoochee
Technical College's Schedule Planner Video Tutorial.
This video will explain how to use Schedule Planner,
a tool that helps you find the optimal class schedule.
When used as a complementary tool
to academic advisement, Schedule Planner allows you
to maximize the number of classes you take
each semester
and graduate in the shortest time possible.
Students who enroll in 12 or more credit hours
in the semester— typically four or more courses
—are considered full-time students.
To use Schedule Planner, you must log in
to your Banner Web account.
To do so, go to our website, www.chattahoocheetech.edu.
Within the "me@CTC" menu,
select the Student Portal option.
In the student portal,
select Banner Web – Login with email.
On the login page,
enter your student email information and password
in the configuration listed under the Students heading.
You have now logged in to your Banner Web account.
To access Schedule Planner,
select the Student Services & Financial Aid menu option.
Then, select Registration.
On the expanded menu, select Schedule Planner.
While using the Schedule Planner,
take note of the helpful information fields
marked with a blue circle around a lowercase "i".
These are helpful hints
that will help make using Schedule Planner easy.
To get started, select the campuses
at which you want to attend classes.
Keep in mind that Schedule Planner
will only show you options that match your search criteria.
If Schedule Planner does not produce an option
that includes a selected class, then you may have to increase
the number of campuses you have selected.
Once you have selected your campuses,
click Save And Continue to move forward.
At the top of the following screen,
note that you can make changes to course status, campuses,
and term for which you want Schedule Planner to search.
To add courses to your search, select Add Course.
Reference the list of recommended courses
from your advisor and select the appropriate subject
and course from the dropdown menus.
Once you have entered the information
for your first course, select Add Course.
Repeat until you have added all the courses you want to take
for the upcoming semester.
As you add courses, you will see them added
under the Courses heading.
When you are done adding courses,
select the Done button to return
to the previous screen.
Once you have added your courses,
you will want to add breaks or certain days or times
you do not wish to take classes.
Consider adding breaks for time you will be working,
when you're responsible for child care, or for anything
that will prevent you from attending classes.
Schedule Planner takes this into account
and will not generate a schedule that includes a course
which meets during one of your selected breaks.
Once you are satisfied with your course
and break information, select Generate Schedules.
As you can see, Schedule Planner may identify
a large number of schedule options.
In order to narrow down your schedule options,
you can add more breaks or remove some campuses.
To view a particular schedule, hover over the magnifying glass
or select View.
To compare multiple schedules at once,
select the boxes next to the schedules
you wish to view and select Compare.
On the View Schedule screen, you will see available seats
and day and time information for the classes
that meet your search criteria.
You also get a visual of the length of your courses.
Most courses meet for the entire duration
of the semester, but some meet
for only part of the term.
At the bottom of the screen, you will see a calendar view
that displays your courses and your breaks.
Please note that if a schedule option
includes an online class,
that class will not be displayed here,
as there is no assigned meeting time.
Note that this screen gives you the options to lock a course,
which will ensure that a particular course
is included on all future generated schedules.
You can also favorite a schedule,
which allows you to easily return
to this schedule without reentering your search criteria.
You may also shuffle your options
if you don't want to view them in order.
Once you are happy with your schedule,
select Send to Shopping Cart.
Please keep in mind that you cannot register
for classes using Schedule Planner—
it is simply a tool that allows you to view
schedule options.
If you do not send your schedule to your Cart
and complete the registration process in Banner Web,
you will not be enrolled in classes
for the upcoming term.
Once you have sent your schedule to your Cart,
you will return to your Banner Web account.
To register for your courses, select Register.
Scroll to the bottom of the next screen
to see if your registration attempt was successful.
View the courses for which you have successfully registered
under Current Schedule.
If you'd like to view a detailed version of your schedule,
which includes class times and locations,
select Course Schedule Detail at the bottom of the screen.
Registration Add errors will be listed
below your current schedule,
accompanied by a red exclamation mark icon.
Descriptions of registration error messages
along with other helpful information can be found
at the top of this page.
Please remember that you must make
all required tuition and fee payments
by the appropriate payment deadlines
in order to remain in your classes.
Those deadlines are listed at the top of this page
and on the academic calendar.
