Sitka Snippet Video - Copy Buckets - Duration: 4:33.

This short video shows how to create and manage Copy Buckets in Sitka's Evergreen.

Copy Buckets are useful for keeping item records together over a period of time.

Copies added to a bucket will stay there until you are ready to work with them and being

in a bucket has no effect on circulation.

Click Cataloguing -> Select Copy Buckets

The Copy Bucket Interface is split into two tabs

Bucket View tab -> you can View or Create buckets

Click Buckets - existing buckets are listed Create Bucket

You can Edit or Delete Buckets Or you can view Shared Buckets

Click Shared Buckets - enter ID of shared bucket - Click Load Bucket ->the bucket will

be displayed

To Create a New Bucket - Click Buckets -> Select New Bucket

Enter Name Enter Description (Optional)

Ignore checkbox for 'publicly visible?' flag This flag does not make the bucket visible

to the public.

Click Create Bucket your new bucket will be created.

Use the Pending Copies tab to add copies or items to the bucket

Pending copies -> Buckets -> choose a bucket

Scan or enter barcodes

to add to the bucket

Select all items

Click Actions -> add to bucket

Bucket view The copy bucket interface has been streamlined

and all the Buttons replaced with the standard function bar

Click

Edit Selected Copies allows you to batch update item attributes

Example update shelving location for these items to "On Display"

Save - shelving location is updated you will need to click refresh to see the changes

Delete Selected Copies from Catalog allows you to batch delete copies

If the item is in the bucket - deleting it from the catalogue will not delete it from

the bucket for this reason we recommend you add copy status as a displayed column

Once you have selected copy status - remember to save your columns

You may also add copy records to a bucket when they are displayed on some other screens,

such as Holdings Maintenance, Item Status, Check In and Items Out in patron accounts.

Add Items to Buckets is included in the actions list on these screens.

For Example we are on Item status click on actions we can add items to bucket

prompted to add to existing bucket you will see a list of choices or you can enter a name

for a new bucket
