Waching daily Apr 24 2018

- Making videos is no joke.

Running your own business for that matter

is no joke either.

(beep)

Sometimes you have to do all the things,

even when you don't like all the things

or you'd rather be doing other things, right?

It can get super time-consuming,

and before you know it you're like,

"I didn't have gray hair when I started this.

(laughs)

But seriously, let me help you lighten your load

a little bit.

To share with you some awesome ways to repurpose

your content, freeing up some space in your schedule

by not having to reinvent every piece of content you share,

but only get a little crafty is my biz buddy,

soon to be your biz buddy, Ms. Stacey Harris

of Hit the Mic.

Since I'm away on maternity leave,

I've invited her over to share some bombs with you,

so let's go take a listen.

- Hey guys, and thanks to Holly for bringing me on.

I'm really excited to talk about repurposing content,

because here's the deal.

There's no reason for you to keep reinventing the wheel,

and the fastest way to get off the content creation

hamster wheel is to use it in more than one way.

So when you are working through Holly's planner,

you might notice that there are entire sections

on utilizing your content to promote it on social

and things like that.

What I want to talk about is I want to take it a step

further, and I want to talk about how can you

actually take a video you shoot and turn it into

not just other pieces of content for your site,

but other pieces of content for other sites,

and possibly most importantly, pieces of content

on social to drive traffic back to the original

piece of content on your site.

So let's say you're doing what I'm doing right now,

shooting a video.

Yay, we shot a video, that's amazing.

Hopefully you used the planner so it went super well

and you were on point and everything was fantastic.

What's next?

Well, obviously editing and publishing and all

of those things that are Holly's problem. (laughs)

But also promoting it, because here's what a lot of us

are doing.

We're creating content, and creating, and creating,

and creating, and creating, and creating, and creating,

and creating, and creating.

And then we're not actually telling anyone

or promoting it.

So what I do after I create a piece of content

is I break it into smaller pieces of content.

So let's say I'm doing a video like this,

as our example, and I'm sharing three tips.

Great.

One of those tips, I'm actually going to re-share

on Facebook Live with a link back to my site

where the full video resides.

But I'm also going to take a clip from that video

and share it on Instagram, and Twitter, and LinkedIn,

because yes, even on LinkedIn we can upload native video

now, meaning it autoplays in timeline and it appears

as part of LinkedIn, and it gets really great engagement

because it stands apart from all of the links

that you're seeing on LinkedIn, just back to sites

or text content.

It's really standing out.

So we've now taken that one video,

and we've repurposed content in the fact

that we shared it kind of differently,

we did a live video.

But what else can we do with it?

Well, we could take a photo and share a photo

that is a still from our video,

and share it on Instagram, and Twitter,

and Facebook, and LinkedIn, and all of those places.

We can also actually pull the audio out of the video

and create a podcast, maybe share it on SoundCloud,

maybe create a .wav graphic for Instagram

using just the audio.

Now we can also pull the text and have the text

transcribed from that audio or the video,

and now we've created a blog post,

maybe for our site, maybe for someone else's.

This is honestly how I create guest content.

I don't create any new guest content

unless it's really, really a high value for me

with that audience.

I would say, in probably nine out of 10 cases,

we're pulling transcripts from video,

or from the podcast, and we're repurposing them.

We're restructuring them into blog content,

something that's a little more readable

than maybe a straight transcript is,

and we're submitting that into sites like

industry sites, and niche sites that my ideal clients

are reading.

Whatever makes sense for you.

Maybe you are a health coach, and there is an industry

leader website.

It's going to be a really great place

for you to submit content.

This is also something we do in LinkedIn Publisher.

Now LinkedIn does not get nearly enough credit.

It's a super valuable tool when utilized strategically,

because you can get a huge ROI on your time,

meaning you can get a lot of return for a lot less time

than maybe you're spending on Instagram Stories

or Facebook Lives.

It's true.

It's crazy.

So I will take a transcript, create a blog post,

and I actually usually imbed the video,

if I do a video.

If I don't do a video, what I will do is I will just

have a link back to the podcast,

or I will just let it exist on LinkedIn

as a blog post.

It's a great opportunity to, again,

share your message in a new way

without reinventing the wheel.

So think about this as you're putting together

your content plan, especially as you're utilizing

the business cinema planner.

Thinking about your script, thinking about your storyboards,

thinking about your video ideas and the concept of,

"How am I going to be repurposing this?"

I have actually been doing this as I script videos.

I'll mark out, "This is what I'm going to share

"on Facebook Live, this is an audio clip

"I want to pull out for Instagram,

"this is something I want to share on Instagram Stories

"to help drive traffic to the video on the website."

Look at what it is you are creating as you're creating it,

and figure out how to repurpose it.

But also, don't forget all that content maybe you

already created.

Be sure to take a step back and look at what you can do

with all the content that already exists,

because again there is value there.

Even if you've shared it lots and lots of times,

maybe find a new way to share it.

Again, maybe do a Facebook Live talking about it.

Share a clip of it.

Share an audio.

Whatever it is that works for you.

But remember, repurposing is where we really suck

all the value and return out of our time investment

when we create content.

Don't just create it once and share it once.

Be creating it and finding dozens of ways

to share it and repurpose it.

And if this all sounds really overwhelming to you,

there are teams that can help you.

I have a team that helps me with this.

I have a VA who specializes in, you guessed it,

helping their clients repurpose content.

They do all of this stuff for me.

It doesn't have to be you.

But the strategy and the system has to be figured out first.

Alright?

If you have any questions, you can check me out

at thestaceyharris.com.

- We are giving away a $25 Amazon gift card

to one lucky winner.

- What I would love you to do is subscribe

to my channel, which will be in a link below,

and of course make sure to subscribe to Holly's channel.

And then leave a comment for us.

Let me know one way you're going to start repurposing

every single piece of your content.

What is the one thing you're going to do

going forward?

For me, the one think I always do is a Facebook Live.

We'll do a Facebook Live talking about one point

from a podcast or a video and use that to drive traffic

back to the original piece of content that lives

on my website.

That's one thing we always do.

So figure out what that one thing is for you.

Alright?

I will see you very, very, very soon over at

thestaceyharris.com.

Have a great day.

- If you liked this video, make sure to like it

and share it up, because you know somebody else

might like it, too.

And remember, you're someone's reason to smile,

so don't give up.

How can we reduce copy of artistic idea? (Video Project: Experiential English II) - Duration: 11:03.

*mobile phone notification*

Hey! Let's see this, I think it must be a great opportunity for you.

This challenges me so much. It's not that easy.

Let's find some solutions!

*abstract art*

Do you know that is not a good idea at all.

you might copy some of others' idea unintentionally

that's why I have a good choice for your inspiration.

Let's see, the way that I choose to avoid copying others' work is to find inspiration from offline sources

Follow me, I look around for many things that might bring me a great idea

that means if you're too focused on only one art work, you might pay attention to it

and gather over detail unintentionally.

Alright class, today's assignment is

I want each of you to design any kind of cloth you prefer

using the method of sketching we have learnt from today's lesson.

Have a good day.

Hmm...I don't even understand his confusing "today's method"

and I don't know what on earth I am going to sketch.

*sign* still have no idea.

Ohhh..

I think ... it can be the 90s theme.

it can be the 90s theme.

Oh no! It's midnight already.

Gotta find a solution.

Sorry, I can't help. I don't know what to do.

Okay girls, don't forget to send me your homework.

What! They're exactly the same pattern. I'm so disappointed.

That wasn't a good solution at all,

actually, that wasn't a solution either.

It's called copying.

When it comes to a kind of an artistic idea,

it's better to use your own creativity and your own energy to create your art piece,

but it's alright to be inspired by someone's idea or by whatever theme you like,

and don't forget! no copying allowed!

*Music's playing*

Wow! This song is extremely cool.

I am going to do a cover of it, even though it's already 2018.

*Music's playing*

Bro! This song is f*cking fascinating

Maybe, I'll create my own song, inspired by this song.

*intense music's playing*

Wow! This song is imperfectly perfect.

Everyone's gonna emotionally love it.

Hey! Would you like to listen to a song written by me?

Yeah, sure.

*Music's playing*

*Music's playing*

I think it sounds exactly like a particular k-pop song.

Are you sure it was all written and created by you?

Clearly, it was not just an inspiration.

If you're gonna label your artistic output that it is all yours,

it is important that you use your own strength and creativity

in the process of making it, or you can just do a cover of a song.

*lyrics*

Today I don't feel like doing anything

I just wanna lay in my bed

Don't feel like picking up my phone

And leave a message at the tone

'Cause today I swear I'm not doing anything.

Tomorrow I'll wake up do some p90x

see a really nice guy have some really nice sex

And I'm gonna scream out this is great

*OMG! This is great!*

I might mess around and get my college degree

I bet my old man will be so proud of me

But sorry pops you'll just have to wait

Oh Yes I said it

I said it I said it 'cause I can

No I ain't gonna comb my hair

'Cause I ain't goin' anywhere

No no no no no no no no no oh

One thing is all I need

You don't have and you can't be

Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah

Ohhhhhh
