Dear All,
We are happy to tell you about our European project "proHear".
The project's whole title is
"Improving the Employability of People with Hearing Impairments – proHear".
It is a 2-year project.
It starts in November 2017 and ends in October 2019.
Who is going to realise the project proHear?
The project is a strategic partnership consisting of 6 organizations
from 4 European countries
Poland, Bulgaria, Lithuania and Iceland.
Why we developed the project?
People with disabilities are amongst the most disadvantaged groups in the labour market.
Only 20% of persons with disabilities in Europe are employed
and among those who are working many are underemployed
as they are notpaid a decentwage,
work below their capabilities and/or with temporary contracts
and have poor career perspective.
Because the problem is serious and we want to change this situation,
the proHear project addresses the employability of people with hearing impairments.
What are the project's objectives?
To provide specific support for people with hearing impairments
and improve their employability;
To develop innovative training tools
to enhance employment prospects of people with hearing impairments
to increase their motivation and self-awareness in the job searching process;
To improve the social inclusion of people with hearing impairments.
What are the project's target groups?
people with hearing impairments,
with different employment status inactive/unemployed/ employed;
project stakeholders who may affect
or/and be affected by an activity and outcome of a project:
organizations of and for people with disabilities,
educational institutions, employers, rehabilitation,
employmentand and social services, social partners and policy makers
What are the expected project outputs?
proHear Survey and Gap Analysis: developed based on desk research
and interviews with people with hearing disability and employers.
Innovative Training Content: course of study and training content
developed, based on the Gap Analysis' results.
Practically-oriented training and networking tool.
proHear Interactive e-Learning Platform.
Empowerment Kit: to sustain and strengthen
the efficiency of the training activities goals
We will also organize Local Info Days,
Training workshops, Local Career Days
and a Final Conference in Poland.
