Sergio: My dream always was to become a citizen of the United States. Thanks to the Los Angeles

Public Library my dream came true. Last year I saw a sign for the citizenship

class here in the library. I was here every Saturday for three months. I borrowed CDs,

flashcards, and books to practice and study at home.

Francisca: He encouraged me to take the class and we studied and practiced together.

Sergio: I became a citizen April 10 of 2014.

Francisca: And I became citizen five months later.

When a new family moves to the community

I tell them the most important place is the library. A place where everyone is welcome.
