it says taking their orbits to be circular we are required to calculate the ratio of

their ki-netic energies.

we know well that, ki-netic energy of a satellite, can be directly given as, k is equal to, g

mass of planet, multiplied by, mass of satellite divided by, twice the radius, if r is the

radius of orbit, in which it is, revolving around the planet.

so we can simply state as kinetic energy is inversely proportional to orbital radius,

then for satellites, ay and b we can directly write, k of ay by, k of b is equal to, r of

b upon, r of ay, which can be written as, 4 r by 2 r, which is equal to, 2 by 1.

that is the answer to this problem.
