Hey, BookTube! It's Sylwia!
So, I know that usually when I do my Reading Vlogs I start on a Saturday, but today I'm
starting on Sunday.
Today's Sunday, January 15th.
I'm going to do a Reading Vlog for today even though it is already 4:30PM, but, whatever.
And then tomorrow is a Monday and I do have work but only for four hours.
AND that kind of brings into an update!
I am back to being employed!
Thank you so much, all of you who sent positive thoughts my way and were here for me for this
month of unemployment.
I cannot believe what I have gone through in the last 3 months but I am employed.
I already started working.
I've worked 5 days already.
So that's a little update.
AND you're gonna see me in ~New York City~, that's where I live, because tomorrow I have
to go into Manhattan for a meeting.
So earlier today I read the first 100 pages of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.
This is my first time ever reading this book.
I've never finished this book.
This is my third time TRYING to read it, but this is gonna be the first time I've succeeded.
I've read all of the others multiple times, but this is the only one I haven't.
And the Sweet Evil audiobook just came in for me.
I am buddyreading this with Marines from mynameismarines.
Brace yourselves for my review of this book.
So it's, like, 9 o'clock at night.
I'm reading Harry Potter and I have to say I'm loving this edition?
This, aahhh, actually has a dust jacket that looks exactly the same but I took it off to
read.
And it just opens up really easily and I'm just really liking this edition a lot.
And I totally regret buying that beautiful box set from Scholastic.
That's one of the dumbest purchases I've ever made.
I'm not sure which edition I'll read Goblet of Fire in.
It's 10:44PM.
I'm stopping this at 169 pages for tonight.
I just read 73 pages of March, Book 1, by Senator John Lewis.
I was worried that I wouldn't like the art style but it's actually very easy to read.
I'm gonna finish it tomorrow.
It's Monday the 16th and I'm reading Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban as I get
ready for work.
I'm carrying 3 books with me into the city.
[sounds of cars driving by]
[sound of bus's turning signal]
[sounds of cars and wind and movement]
[mild restaurant noises]
[cars, city noise]
[soothing bus white noise]
[bus's turning signal]
[soothing outside sounds]
So I've had a pretty successful reading day, right?
I started off the day by reading Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban and finishing it.
Then I finished March volume 1 on the bus.
And now I'm reading Sweet Evil.
It's, like, 3-something-PM.
It's Martin Luthor King, Jr.
Day so it's kind of perfect timing to read March.
I just called my mom and asked her if she wants to go to BJ's.
She said yes.
So I'm gonna be reading Sweet Evil while I do that.
[soothing silence in BJ's]
It's 6:00PM.
I'm back from BJ's and I'm back to reading Sweet Evil.
It's around 7:00PM.
I'm 280 pages through Sweet Evil.
This book is a hot, hot mess, so I'm a little tired of it for today.
Now I'm gonna read some Gone by this problematic author and then later I'll read some More
Happy Than Not by Adam Silvera.
I'm 294 pages into Gone.
For those of you who don't know, Michael Grant has said some problematic things.
I actually have sources and explanations about that up on goodreads somewhere (linked below*).
This was interesting during the first 20 chapters but chapters 21-25 were really boring.
If it wasn't for the audiobook, I don't think I would be able to get through this and I
definitely will not be continuing on with the series, whether I like it or not, because
of Michael Grant.
The only reason I decided to pick up this book is because I bought it several years
ago, before he started saying problematic things.
And I still kind of question whether I should have picked it up or not.
I'm about to pick up my partner from work and I'm faced with the age-old question: should
I listen to an audiobook (in this case that would have to be Sweet Evil) or do I listen to BookTube
videos?
Hey, BookTube, it's Sylwia.
I ended up watching BookTube videos on my drive over to pick up my partner from work.
I'm thinking about how much I loved Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, like,
I requested the audiobook for the fourth book at both of the libraries that I'm a part of but
I, like, really want to start Goblet of Fire, like, right now.
I won't.
I will be patient, plus I have to finish all of these books and I want to get through my
January TBR.
I'm very, very tired right now though so I think for the rest of the night, I'm just
gonna watch BookTube videos and then go to sleep?
ALSO, I'm going to be part of a liveshow January 22nd.
I'm one of the judges for the #YABTAwards.
Please come and support me.
I'm so nervous about being part of a liveshow.
So that's January 22nd and then I'm also gonna be a part of one on January 28th.
I definitely need some cheerleaders for that.
Come talk to me in the comments! <3
