Hey everyone!
Today I have more of my favorite sort of tech- automation!
I guess it's a little weird to be a DIY and an automation fanatic at the same time.
To both want to do things yourself and also want machines to do it for you
but of course it depends what kind of things need doing.
Like most Chinese I hang my clothes to dry, and don't really see the point in a clothes dryer
and wouldn't really use one.
On the other hand I don't like fast or microwaved food, so the automatic cooker that stir-fried
fresh ingredients in the right order that I reviewed a while back?
That was really interesting to me.
Oh I can hear the oil splashing.
Sizzling I would say.
First layer the oil goes in, and then the garlic.
Even though I like cooking I don't always have the time.
I guess everyone has their own mix of household chores they really hate and would love automated,
and others that are no big deal.
One person's home automation dream is going to seem like a completely ridiculous waste to someone else.
Today I'm going to check out this automated trash can and see if it's an answer to my
completely ridiculous home automation needs.
I hate bagging up the kitchen garbage, it's gross and somehow I always get eggshells or
slimy chicken bones touching my hands.
I know, I'm weird- you know you have your thing, this is mine.
So the TowNew smart trash can is supposed to make all my trash bagging problems go away.
Lets open it up and take a look.
Here's the instructions, and it's all in Chinese.
I don't think you need to download an app for this.
Ok the motion sensor is pretty common.
Let's throw some trash in and see how it works.
Oh cool!
Look!
Oh..so what now?
There will be another?
Ok.
Ok let's do it again.
Ok.
Huh cool.
So that's pretty interesting.
I thought it's going to tie it in the trash can but actually it has a heating element
inside and then it seals it by melting it.
So even if I have water inside I think it's won't leak. It's pretty solid.
I like it.
It's too cool, lets try it out one more time for the camera.
So it's not like some crazy app enabled IOT thing- but I don't think anyone wants that.
It does one job- bag garbage, and if that's your thing, it's great.
It does require proprietary bag refills, but those are about $11 for 180 bags so not too bad.
I don't see any sort of DRM so I think like a lot of these things if the device catches on
there will be cheaper third party refills available.
Ok as far as I know this is not available outside of China yet.
I'll put the link in the description box so you can tell them to start selling it overseas if you want.
If you'd like to see more unusual products from China please subscribe.
Having a lot of subscribers is the only way I can convince local companies to send me review units.
It's one click for you but makes a big difference for me so I really appreciate it.
That's it for today, I'll see you all next time and remember- if I can do it, anyone can do it.
What is my purpose?
You bag garbage.
Oh my god.
Yeah welcome to the club pal.
