How Engineering Decreases Car Crash Fatalities - Duration: 2:21.
Imagine you are driving in a car, travelling 80 kilometers per hour.
And then suddenly, the unfortunate happens.
A head-on collision, an abrupt full stop.
In a split second, all kinetic energy of you and your car
are transformed to heat, sound and deformation.
G-forces will extend world's scariest rollercoaster, causing a lot of internal damage.
No human body will like such an event.
But engineers do their job and have invented three major features
that drastically decrease injuries in such an event.
First: The crumple zone.
Did you know that the front part of your car is actually not that rigid?
You can see that even in a relatively small collision,
the outer part crumples a lot.
This will extend the length of the path in which your body deaccelerates to zero,
which reduces g-forces by more than 50 percent!
Furthermore, modern cars are equipped with airbags.
This head protecting device is the reason for an eleven percent reduction of fatalities.
Using a combination of potassium nitrate and sodium azide,
a quick explosion can be created to fill the airbag with nitrogen gas.
Like a balloon can deform if you push on it, so can a good airbag,
creating a softer landing for your head.
But this only works when the deployment of an airbag is timed perfectly.
I recommend you to watch this video to see what will happen if that's not the case..
Yet, the effectiveness of an airbag is not even remotely close to that of a seatbelt.
By keeping your body in your seat, seatbelts are estimated to reduce your change
of dying in an accident by 45 percent.
These three safety features are together with dozens of other ones
the reason that driving a car has become safer and safer in the past few decades.
However, still more than 5 million accidents - causing 35.000 fatalities –
happen in the United States alone annually.
Worldwide numbers reach 1.3 million deaths yearly.
But thé solution is coming.
Autonomous cars exist, and they are already way better than their meat-based competitors,
only continuing to get even more superior.
So give it 20 years and all this won't be needed anymore.
But for now, wear your seatbelt guys!
Drive save!
And if the unfortunate might ever happen, you know engineering will do the best it can
to protect you!

My Mistake- By Doom Vroom - Duration: 6:19.
you know how there are those moments in
life in which you are presented with a
choice and you feel that you can't win I
suspect that the rest of my life will
feel that way my situation as unique as
it may be is completely my own fault I
recognize that that doesn't stop it from
being needlessly cruel it all began with
an innocent break-in perpetrated by
yours truly I'd broken into an outwardly
elegant mansion the inside was very well
kept and stocked with the most expensive
of furniture flooring countertops
toilets my new but something felt a miss
in hindsight I feel that how easy the
front door gave way to my foot should
have been the first sign that something
was wrong
I'd managed to empty some items of
interest a couple of money stacks in a
laptop both of which were found in a
home office area downstairs and then lay
my way up to the upper floor there is a
thing that goes something like assuming
makes an ass out of you and me well in
this case assume makes one of us dead
yeah the owner was home as it turns out
no cars in the driveway is not a
clear-cut indication that the residence
is empty the old guy came barreling out
of his bedroom and get a hard framed
certificate to the head
I only meant to knock him out at worst
it isn't my fault the elderly are so
fucking fragile I didn't check the rest
of the manor I just couldn't bring
myself to do so within 24 hours the
police were knocking at my door and
presenting me with some shiny steel cups
they were cufflinks in a sense but not
the kind that I wanted to be able to
afford I'm expecting to get sent to a
cold hard sell but I find myself at a
law office it turns out that the police
had brought me before the codgers
personal lawyer the police officer stood
beside me still cuffed as the lawyer
read me the will of one very recently
deceased Edgar Westbrook the suit tells
me that I have two choices with the
first beam to go to prison for life he
assured me that Edgar had greased enough
palms to ensure that sentence would
befall me should I choose to go to trial
the second and likely equally illegal
option was that I inherit Westbrook's
wealth sounds grave of an awesome right
but then the lawyer reads the terms
should I choose option 2 I must live in
the mansion make a will which would name
my killer as my beneficiary with the
exact to same options offered to him or
her and I must put out an ad in the
newspaper at the set of every bump
stating my place of residence and the
beneficiary condition of my will should
any of those terms be breached then
hello doll house for me not so awesome
now is it
I went with option two because freedom
when the police dumped me off but my new
home and slept an ankle bracelet on me
it really hit home how both options were
prison except one came with a life
sentence and the other a sentencing of
death I feel like a fuckin moron now
realizing that I chose death over in
life sentencing technically I could just
leave and get son to prison but that
somehow seems more final that the
potential death that awaits in the end
it just boils down to hoping for decency
and others in relation to decency I
found a note left to me well not to me
but the killer of Edgar Westbrook which
Jessel happens to be me it went on about
how ol Edgar might not be able to have
his cancer cured but he would be able to
treat the cancer that is his hometown
society I must admit that note makes me
feel like I've chosen poorly I guess
what it all boils down to is please
don't kill me
you

Nintendo Switch Sales in Japan / North America - Duration: 2:34.
Good morning Youtube.
Welcome to Gamer's Hub Channel.
In this video, I am going to give you the news on the Nintendo Switch and how it is
selling so far.
Let's start with the video.
There was a report that the Nintendo switch is selling really well in Japan.
So far the Nintendo has almost sold double of what the PS4 sold in Japan.
That was when the PS4 was released.
Keep in mind, the PS4 had a higher price than the Nintendo Switch.
However, these are good news for the competition since the more competition the better games
for us.
I have the PS4 and Nintendo switch and both offers different way to play games.
I like the Nintendo Switch because you can take it anywhere and still continue playing
games.
I was playing Zelda on a trip that I recently went.
It was really nice to play the game similar to an iPad but the gameplay is better.
That is what Nintendo is doing for the gaming community.
Imagine taking a PS4 or an Xbox game to wherever you want to play.
Now, the only thing i do not like about the Nintendo Switch is there are not a lot of
games right now that are worth buying.
Some of the games are really expensive.
It shouldn't be that way.
I hope Nintendo releases Mario Odyssey before the end of the year.
That is going to be a great game you can play.
In the meantime, I'll still continue playing PS4 games at home because they usually give
you better graphics.
Specially if you have a high definition TV.
Whenever I want to go on the road or a friend house, I'll just take the Nintendo Switch.
I'm going to leave the sources cited in the description of the video.
However, I just wanted to leave this video really quick because the last time that Nintendo
released a console which was the Nintendo Wii U.
It was a failure.
The only thing is that you cannot get a Nintendo Switch unless you go to eBay.
However, I'm going to make a video on how you can look on a nintendo switch when its
in a store.
That way you can buy a nintendo switch if that is what you want.
Instead of going to eBay and paying a high price.
Well, that is going to be everything for today.
I hope you have an excellent day.
Please leave comment in the comments sections.
Subscribe to the Gamer's Hub channel.
And have an excellent day.
Take care my friends.

The Chicken or the Egg or the Dinosaur - What Came First - Duration: 5:07.
Ah the age-old argument, what came first
the chicken or the egg? If the egg came
first then what laid it, if the chicken came
first then where'd come from? This
dilemma even puzzled Aristotle who said,
"If there has been a first man he must
have been born without father or mother
which is repugnant to nature, for there
could not have been a first egg to give
a beginning too birds or there should
have been a first bird which gave a
beginning to eggs, for a bird comes from
an egg". Although it seems like scientists
have actually finally answered the
question which took long enough, only
about two and a half thousand years. An
expert panel was formed consisting of a
geneticist, a philosopher and a chicken
farmer. The philosopher on the panel said
I would argue it's a chicken egg if it
has a chicken in it. If a kangaroo laid
an egg from which an ostrich hatched
there would surely be an ostrich egg, not
a kangaroo egg. By this reasoning the
first chicken did indeed come from a
chicken egg even though that egg didn't
come from chickens. But now let's just
say that the egg is a chicken egg. Neil
deGrasse Tyson said on the argument, the
egg was laid by a bird that was not a
chicken. Well it must have been some kind
of chicken right? And now we get into
evolution. If we are looking at this from
an evolutionary perspective the egg came
first as eggs evolved before birds did.
Evolution doesn't happen quickly it's
not one generation to the next it's
thousands and thousands of generations, each
one the tiniest bit different from the
one that came before it. It's widely
believed that birds evolved from
dinosaurs and you can see this yourself
when you look at those skeletons in
museums and those little guys clucking
around. All the non-avian dinosaurs
dinosaurs which were not evolving flight
died out but many dinosaurs were
evolving so the mighty t-rex looked a
little less like this
and a little bit more like this. The
raptor look less like this and more like
this. Actually that makes it look a hell
a lot more scary looking. You see one by
one they developed bipedal locomotion,
then feathers, then a wishbone, then more
complex feathers and then they took off.
Of course all the while this was
happening they were getting smaller and
smaller. So it's widely believed that
dinosaurs look less like those monsters
from Jurassic Park and more like
overgrown chickens although to be fair
they do say that in Jurassic Park that
these are not real dinosaurs.
In fact what some
scientists are tinkering with today is
creating Dino chickens. Scientists
attempting to understand how the beak
evolved have written a paper about how
they could modify chicken beaks to grow
not beaks but Dino snouts. Another group
is attempting to grow a chicken with
dinosaur legs. But what about actually
bringing dinosaurs back to like Jurassic
Park style. Well we know the method they
use in the book and the movie, it
wouldn't work there's no way to extract
the DNA from a mosquito without taking
the mosquito DNA out too, so if you tried
to grow something from it it'd be a
weird Dino mosquito monstrosity ah Jesus
Christ kill it with fire. Famous paleontologist
Jack Horner is actually making it his
life's work to bring dinosaurs back from
the dead. He's basically the inspiration
for Alan Grant from the movie and he
also worked as a consultant on it. Now
he's digging in Hell Creek, Montana where
they found many t-rex fossils. Now they
haven't found any DNA, DNA breaks down
too quickly. DNA has a half-life of about
500 years so we're about...
65 million years too late
but what Jack Horner has found is dino
proteins in blood vessels. So what is he
working on? More dino chickens. Get a
chicken, give it a snout and teeth
instead of a beak, give it a tail, flip
its wings upside down on boom you got a
kind of dinosaur. So really we will never
be able to bring back actual dinosaurs
unless there's like the discovery of the
century pretty soon of like a fully
formed frozen dinosaur in the Antarctic
or something which is probably pretty
unlikely as, you know, 65 million years it's
long enough time. So back to our original
question what came first the chicken or
the egg? It's the egg laid by a dinosaur
that had feathers. Thanks for watching Mike out

Gala home win kicks off busy April - Duration: 2:07.
The busy schedule has begun.
The month of April is jam-packed with highlights in all competitions and on Saturday the Reds enjoyed a good start to the month
with a 6:0 home win in the Bavarian derby against Augsburg.
It's great to play after such a long time.
It's been nearly half a year.
Obviously it's even more rewarding when the team shows such a dominant performance
and such a good game.
Eight games remain in 30 days and we're concentrating
on what really matters now.
In the next few weeks we want to lay the foundation for what we hope will be a long season.
Sven Ulreich had a fairly quiet afternoon against Augsburg on Saturday
but that should change dramatically on Tuesday evening
when Bayern Munich encounters Hoffenheim.
Unfortunately Carlo Ancelotti will have to do without Thomas Müller as well as Thiago.
Müller suffered a dangerous foul against Hoffenheim and has ankle problems.
He needs a two-day break.
I have also decided to rest Thiago although he doesn't have any specific problems.
Carlo Ancelotti's team wants to maintain the gap at the top of the Bundesliga table while Thomas Wörle's FC Bayern women's team
is determined to close the gap to the top of the league.
Following the 1:0 win against SC Sand on the weekend the Bayern girls are table third,
only trailing Wolfsburg and Potsdam by four points.
Now the team needs to keep pushing because the championship is far from decided yet.

What If Earth Ran Out Of Water And Food? - Duration: 3:47.
Conservation is something we're hearing a lot about these days, because Earth has
finite resources and we're kind using them up fast.
But what if we didn't conserve?
What would happen if the Earth ran out of food and water?
So, the good news is Earth isn't going to run out of water anytime soon.
The water we have doesn't exactly do a disappearing act, it just changes state, evaporating into
the atmosphere then raining or snowing back down.
The problem is, most of that water -- about 77 percent -- is salt water water.
And the fresh water we need is mostly frozen at the poles.
But some exists in rivers and streams, which is good for us!
And those sources get replenished from rainfall, which is even better.
But as populations grow and more people rely on these sources, we have to start literally
digging into other resources, namely underground aquifers.
These subterranean wells carry us through droughts so we don't have to curb our habits,
but new climate data is showing that we're draining the largest water reserves in Africa,
Eurasia, and the Americas faster than they're replenished by rain.
So much of the groundwater we use is lost to evaporation or ends up in the oceans meaning
it doesn't get reused, and that's leaving billions of people without clean water.
Not only is there less water, but these dwindling resources don't exactly abide by geographic
boundaries.
So nations are fighting for control over limited resources, and it's sparking wars.
The conflict in the Darfur region of Sudan began as a local dispute over access to clean
water between African farmers and Arab pastoralist communities.
Then it escalated into an all-out war that has hundreds of thousands of lives and displaced
an millions since 2003.
Yemen is also seeing increased riots over access to water.
In both cases water will solve the conflict but that magical peace-bringing water doesn't
exactly exist.
And the biggest user of water, and the people feeling these shortages the most?
Farmers, the people who also bring us food.
As water becomes more scarce the price will go up, which will in turn drive up food prices.
And then we're in the same position with groups fighting for access to a vital but
limited commodity.
We're going to see food wars the same way we're seeing water wars, literally wars
over available food.
And war has a nasty habit of destroying land, meaning we could destroy all our crops in
the process, leaving us with nothing at all to share once there's peace.
But scientists are already thinking about protecting us from ourselves with seed vaults.
There are vaults all over the world that stores seeds to preserve genetic diversity of food,
and the global backup is the Svalbard Global Seed Vault as the backup in Norway.
These vaults aren't meant to supply farmers, they're intended to be a genetic resource
to breed plants in the future so we don't lose variety through war.
This will not only give us diverse food, it will give us a way to preserve our ecosystem
so we can grow the crops that sustain us.
Because without some forethought into preserving our ecosystem, well, we could go the way of
the dinosaurs.
The Earth will be fine; our planet is resilient.
Us and the environment that sustains us?
Not so much.
So unless we want a future of wars over the snacks on your desk right now, we should probably
start taking conservation initiatives seriously.
This video was written by space historian Amy Shira Teitel.
On the topic of water, she just made a video about releasing water into space!
Check it out.

Oya History Museum in Japan. - Duration: 8:55.
Hi there! This is Yurya Blinchik!
And today I want to show you amazing stone place located in Utsunomiya city.
If you take a look around you will see many rocks.
Because It used to be the main stone mining at this area.
But in modern time It is converted into a museum of stones.
You can see the museum over there.
It's name is Oya History Museum.
Here is the entrance, let's get in.
Look all furniture is made of stones!
I can even see the certifacate of excellence from tripadvisor!
This place is really famous.
Here is the exhibition room.
Many stone blocks.
All of them are handmade. Very hard work.
Here you can see all the tools workers had been used to get the stone blocks.
Lots of historical photos.
In a later period workers had started to use electric saws.
Some decorative parts of old houses made of stones.
Don't worry, this is not the main part of museum!
Now let's get into real underground quarry.
The entrance is just behind me.
It's rather deep.
And rather cold.
Here we are.
Very spacious hall made of stone.
I can see the machine for making stone blocks.
Let's go down the stairs and take a look closer.
Is this salt on the walls?
I can't say for sure but It definitely looks like real white salt.
Here is shown how did the workers mine the stone blocks.
Looks like Hell.
This place looks like Tomb of the Pharaoh.
This lights and even music make the special mood.
It was very good idea to take scurf with me.
It's really cold. I think the difference with outside temperature is about 10 degrees.
Here is the thermometer. Let's check It out.
It is about 3 degrees now. Less then I thought.
I should wear some wormer clothes for today's video.
I can see some professional photographers try to make photoshootings with the models.
Buy the way I also took some good pics, see them in my instagram! All links are in video description.
One more stone Hall.
The rooms of the museum are almost empty.
But you can see some strange figures sometimes.
Here is the plan! Looks like we are inside of rock now.
I can't even imagene how many people had been worked hard to make such a big Hall inside of rock.
One more interesting art composition.
It is very conceptual.
But looks great!
Actually It was made not so long time ago by very popular Japanese florist designer Shogo Kariyazaki.
Hmm what could It be...
It is presentation of the expansive sparkling vine.
I did not know the museum can be used for such events.
But It is not all. The stone museum is also perfect place for making historical TV drama.
All the photos behind me are various TV series made inside of stone museum.
I found the Samurai X movie, do you know It?
Sometimes you can feel like you are in dungeon now.
But Japanese made some cute heart shadows everywhere and It doesn't seem so fearfully anymore.
I want to recomend this place for all Indiana Jones lovers.
Because you can imagine like you are the hero of this movie.
Get a real jorney inside of stone museum.
Also I want to show you the small market nere the museum.
I can see many original stone goods here.
And of course you can try the oroginal fast food and drinks menu.
I can see many stone decorations in food court.
Looks fantastic!
They are sold in the store.
Can use them like vase, candlestick, ashtray...
The stone eggs. Have no idea how to use them.
Look at these glass jars!
They are not only cute but smell very nice.
It is something like natural air freshener.
Very stylish present!
And every jar has It's original Herbal fragrance.
Hope you liked my video, see you soon! Bye!

AIKIDO - Igor Koga Sensei - Duration: 6:55.
Aikido… to me is life
To me it's life
It's my life
I think everything I've built
Everything that I chose for my life
was based on Aikido
Since the college I choose
untill now with my work
I'm sure Aikido has influenced a lot
I think that is what "lifestyle" is
Much is said about lifestyle
The fitness thing and so on Cool
I think Aikido is my lifestyle
I think it's cool that Aikido does not force you to anything
There are no impositions
Like: You have to stop drinking, stop smoking
No
As you train
Your training level increases
Your body feels this
Your body feels the need to change your lifestyle
So you
choose to stop drinking
Choose to stop staying in the "night"
I'm not against it
But in my current state I can't
It's no longer compatible with me
The Aikido lifestyle is that
You keep training
You don't train Aikido for something specific
Compete, win a medal
You train Aikido for yourself
There are some elements, like commitment
discipline
perseverance
They are all inherent to training
But I don't believe it's imposed
The person gradually discovers herself slowly
While training she sees, feels her own needs
So, when a student comes to me and say:
"Ah, Sensei, now I'm feeling that I need to feed myself better. Drink more water"
For me, this is already a victory
It's a sign that that student is listening to his own body
From now on he will know what to do with his own health with his life
Aikido provided this to him
This is Aikido to me
Is about being a better person
take better care of yourself and your health
and by taking better care of yourself and your health others around you
will feel this difference
and will start to feel that too
My mother had a restaurant
Very close to Kawai Shihan Dojo
At that time
I was delivering food from the restaurant to his house
to his Uchi Deshi
But I was training Judo I had no idea about what was Aikido
Didn't knew
And Kawai Sensei always said:
"Go down the stairs Go and see"
I never understood what it meant
Until the day I followed his advice
"Let me see what this man is talking about I'm going down these stairs that he talks about"
I went down and found myself in a giant tatami mat
I stayed in that grandstand, sitting
"Wow, what this bunch of men in black-skirts are doing?"
One day
I was there watching a training on Friday night
It was Sérgio Furuyama Sensei's class
He was down there
He always saw me on the seats
He said: "You, come down here, come and train!"
When I got on the tatami and trained Aikido for the first time I said
I found my martial art That I like and will do for the rest of my life
And I'm training since then
That was my first time in Aikido And I'm training since then
I like Kihon a lot
Basic Techniques
Ikkyo
Nikkyo
Sankyo
Yonkyo
Irimi Nage
Kokyu-Ho
Shiho Nage
Kotegaeshi Nage
These techniques, today
I don't know until when But
I think for a long time I'll continue studying hard
I have the opinion that
if you train every day Dai Ichi Kyo
Then you can train more
Because
Dai Ichi Kyo, Irimi Nage
Shiho Nage
These techniques you will have to train for the rest of your life
Through this basic structure
Which is the basis of your pyramid
It's the foundation of a building
It's the pillar the building
It's the backbone of our body
So
If you take good care of this spinal column of your body
You're going to build good things
I believe in that It's my opinion
I just want Aikido to grow
I think
there are some new guys
in quotes
because we're not that young
that are investing in Aikido
There are people who go outside Brazil
Some go to France Some go to the United States
Others go to Japan
These people that are coming
That are seeking knowledge out there
They want that Aikido grow again in Brazil
It's an slow work on turtle pace
which is very slow
but I think it's pretty solid
So I just want Aikido to grow
spread more and more
and that above all else
that people are happy
