How to Upload Videos to Amazon S3 and Embed in Your Site - Duration: 7:00.

how to upload videos to amazon s3 and embed them in your site

so I want to show you how you can use

Amazon s3 to store your videos and then

embed those videos on a website on a

landing page you know wherever you want

so this is an alternative to uploading

your videos to YouTube Vimeo dailymotion

sites like that and then going ahead and

embedding from there so this way gives

you a little bit more freedom so if

there's music playing in the background

in your video you know it's not going to

get pulled down for licensing issues

yeah you kind of have full control

because the video is hosted on your own

amazon s3 account now you can go ahead

and go to s3 amazon com and create your

own account it is free but you do get

paid for uploading videos to amazon and

the bandwidth charges as well but this

is a very very small amount and you only

paper you so if you don't use this for

you know a month a few days you don't

get charged anything so once you go

ahead and upload your video you need to

make sure that the video has actual

permission to to play in someone else's

website when when they're when they're

not logged into your Amazon s3 account

so in order to do that you can select a

file and just go to more and make sure

that it is set to public so it'll give

you kind of wide open permissions second

thing that we need to do is make sure

that we change the metadata on this file

to ensure that it's recognized as video

content otherwise if I were to click on

the URL of this file with the wrong

content type it'll actually just

download the file from my browser to my

computer as opposed to playing it within

the browser so in order to do that we

would just click on the actual file

we've uploaded we go to properties we go

to storage class metadata and we make

sure this is set to content type video

forward slash mp4 or whatever your video

format is so now if I go ahead and

click on the actual URL we're going to

see that that opened in the browser and

it's playing vs. downloading so what we

want to do now is is add this video URL

that we see up here to some embed code

and then we want to go ahead and embed

that onto a site and I can show you

exactly how to do that so let's go ahead

and grab the URL so again you can get

that from by clicking on any of the

files you'll get the URL of your video

that's hosted on s3 and I have a little

document here where I have two options

for embed code so we see here that i

copy my URL right here word says your

video URL here com so I'm just going to

replace that and i'm going to paste this

in and in the bottom here i have the

same thing and i'm going to paste this

in again so you only need to use one of

these embed codes this one has autoplay

running so we see here it has autoplay

equals autoplay and I have the width and

the height so you can adjust that before

you embed it this one though has no

video control so if you're using it for

a video sales letter or something you

just want to autoplay but you don't want

anybody to skip forward this is what you

would use the one below shows the video

control so people can stop and start it

and kind of advance the video wherever

they want so I'll show you what both of

these look like so now that I've put my

URL in there I just copy this and I'm

going to go to site where i can embed

video so here is my squeeze funnels

account and i'm just going to go here

and add a video and i'm going to go to

embed and i'm going to place this here

now this is the autoplay one so let's

save this

and we see that that is plain so now if

we go back to our code here again let's

copy the other one so let me just go

back into here and show you what this

one looks like so I'm just going to go

ahead and add another video function I'm

going to go to embed and again this

would be different on WordPress and

whatever site you're using but anywhere

word asks for an embed code so here we

see I have the one that says controls

just get rid of this line and here we

can see we have the controls to start to

pause to advance to change the volume

and even to download so really that's

all we have to do and you can see that

it's playing the video in you know when

the size that we'd put the 560 by 3 15

so you can adjust that but it's very

high quality on these are hosted on

amazon s3 where a lot of large websites

host their video so it's it has a lot of

bandwidth a lot of capacity videos

aren't going to buffer they're going to

play they're going to stream really

properly without any interruptions now I

put a link below this video so that you

guys can actually get this code this

embed code and once you upload your

videos to Amazon s3 just make sure you

make the videos public from a

permissions perspective and add the

content type as video you know whatever

your video format is from the metadata

portion and copy that you were

the embed code embedded into your site

and you're ready to go so I'm going to
