Hi, this is Matt, your *handsome* English teacher, back for another video!

Alright, in this video we're going to teach you about a new kind of sound. The sound is /b/.

It's the sound the letter B makes in English.

This is not a vowel sound, like /eɪ/ or /æ/, but a consonant sound (phụ âm).

The sound /b/ is made with the *voice* uh uh uh ... If you touch here, you'll hear a rung--a *vibration*--uh uh uhh...and the *lips*.

It's different from Vietnamese, though.

In Vietnamese, you would say, "bơ bơ, bo bo," and the sound tends to stay *here*... we don't *blow* air out.

But in English, we do--we *blow* the air. So, to make the sound, you have to *stop* the air, like this... /b/! ...and then let it out.../b/, /b/.

Like, BE, BLUE, BOY, BLACK, BROWN, BABY.

Can you do it?

Lets practice some words together now with /b/.
