EDIUS.NET Podcast - Exporting a 4K video - Duration: 3:37.

In a previous podcast we have already seen how we can create a 4K or UHD project.

In our example we are working on a UHD project.

After you have finished editing your project, you can choose to either burn the movie to disc

or to output it as a file.

If you want to burn the movie to disc, please note that this is not possible when using UHD resolution.

A DVD is always written in SD format, meaning with a resolution of 720x576 pixels.

Blu-ray is currently only capable of standard HD.

However, if you wish to burn a UHD movie to Blu-ray, it will automatically be scaled down

to 1920x1080 pixels.

If you wish to keep your movie at its 4K resolution, you have to export your movie as a file.

Generally, the sequence has to be exported in accordance with the project setting.

If you are in an UHD project, your movie will be exported with a resolution of 3840x2160 pixels.

The decisive factor when choosing the right export codec is how you wish to utilize

your movie.

If you want to archive the movie and edit it in a project later

then using the Grass Valley HQX codec is a good choice.

You can export the movie as an AVI HQX file.

However, the Grass Valley HQX codec cannot be played easily on a typical PC.

It also produces relatively large files.

If you want to play the movie on a media player, the H.264 codec is suitable.

A relatively small mp4 file will be created.

This file can then be played by almost every UHD Media Player or UHD TV.

The H.264 codec is also useful when you want to upload the movie to YouTube.

Choose a mp4 file in H.264 codec with a bit rate of 40 Mbit at 25p if you want to upload

your movie to Youtube.

More detailed information about upload encoding is available to you

in the YouTube Help Center.

The link is available to you in the description text below this video.

Now YouTube users can see the movie in full resolution on a 4K monitor.

Even users with lower screen resolutions will be able to see the movie in the best available quality for them.

YouTube also provides lower resolution versions of movies automatically.

Duncan Selbie EU Exit staff video Jan 2019 - Duration: 4:37.

Hello everyone. Today I'm with Marguerite Regan. We're going to talk

about the EU. And, you know, fast approaching the end of March and just to

give a bit of an update about what we in PHE are seeking to do, via as much

support as we can for those EU nationals who are feeling, you know, what's

happening. First thing to say, before Marguerite you talk about the (EU exit staff) network,

the Cabinet Secretary, that's the Head of the Civil Service, has been plain,

very clear, that there's no constraint whatsoever to people from an EU national

background continuing to work in the Civil Service, and therefore with PHE.

So, for all of the other concerns there may be, that's not one that people should

should continue to have. But Marguerite can you say something about the network and it's work.

Sure. Yes. So the EU Exit Staff network was set up in 2017 and it's

intended to be a support network for anyone that's being affected by the UK's

transition out of the EU. So membership includes EU nationals, people who are UK

nationals who are married or have family members who are EU nationals, and PHE

staff who are supporting or managing EU nationals. And the group, you know, it's an

information sharing group. It's for bringing any questions and queries, and

it's a support network primarily. So we have regular meetings, we have a Yammer

group, and people can raise issues directly with the mailing list through

euexitstaffnetwork@phe.gov And the network is really

closely aligned with the HR team and the PHE EU exit programme team. They're

both represented at all team meetings, at all the network meetings, to give updates and

field questions. And we're also part of a umbrella group of EU exit staff

networks across government. And that group has direct engagement with the

Cabinet Office and Home Office and the DfEXEU team so that we can raise and

escalate issues to that group aswell .As well as myself there are three great vice

chairs Soili, Evdokia and Jorg who are in regional offices, so there's a

good group there. Basically if people have any

questions and concerns they can raise it directly and we bring them, we can deal

with them ourselves, or escalate them as appropriate. And the next meeting is on

the first of February. So what I'm saying, you know, of all the preparation which

we've been doing for well over the year, maybe a bit longer, about how we can

continue to do our work post-Brexit, is as nothing to the concern

about our people, each other. Are we doing enough? In PHE, are we doing enough? I mean it's very uncertain

times, and it's I think it's just about keeping people updated. I know that PHE

comms are planning on sending out some regular updates. We send out updates to the

mailing list and I'd encourage everyone who's affected to sign up to the

mailing list. And yes, I think, you know, if people have concerns they should feel

that, you know, they can go to their managers, and go to HR directly with any

questions, or come to us because yes, at the moment it's just about reassurance

and sharing the information as and when it becomes available.

Well three things. First hear the message that if you're an EU national and you're

working for PHE, that will continue uninterrupted without concern

post-Brexit. We've had that straight from the heart of government. And

secondly, say thank you Marguerite and your colleagues for the network and

to know you have my very personal support, coming back to me if

you need to about issues as they arise. And thirdly, to say to everybody in PHE

who is the manager of somebody else, just to check if they're an EU national

that they're okay, they've got connnected, connection into the network and you know

just look out for each other. And, of course, come to me personally and

directly if there are issues that you want to talk

to me about, to me personally about. Marguerite, thank you again. We will obviously

keep close to this over the next few weeks.

Thank you. Thank you.
