Really interesting story about how to comment on YouTube, right? And I don't
know if you had a chance but the comments below this video that you just
watched, this really was really a party. Daniel Batal joined in and even though I
made the video upfront and shared my knowledge, he took it to another level in
the comments. He really made me understand that having comments below a
video can be like party. If you are intrigued and didn't read the comment in
the last video, take the chance and read through them. It's really interesting to
see how much you can take the whole commenting thing, the making a connection
to your subscribers, taking that to a whole different level. It's really
important and I'm glad that this made it as a particular growth strategy in this
cartwheel. Because active subscribers are really critical to make your channel
work in the long run. You don't... If you for example jump on the trend and
really have a big spike in your channel, well, what happens afterwards?! The
important thing is that people who find your channel subscribe obviously but
also keep coming back so that you have not only one-time hits but you continue
to have successful videos. And active subscribers are the central part of
it. And of course this is only one group that slowly grows and you want to have
other techniques to get more outreach on top of your active subscribers. And
obviously, this is all about shareability of your content. That's the next growth
strategy we are talking about. Shareability
means not sharing on social media as you can see here. That's the growth strategy
we will be talking about afterwards. Shareability itself is creating videos
that are so interesting, so intriguing, so fresh, so different that it really
motivates people to share this video with their friends. And there's a
whole psychology behind it how you can make your content shareable. I leave a
comment below this video where you find a really good blog article that explains
what from a psychological standpoint makes us motivated to share
something – like your video. But the question is how do you make it happen on
YouTube? And there is one thing that for video in particular works really well to
make something shareable. And that is challenges or tags. Now, challenges you
know. You do a challenge and everyone else chimes in and this is kind of like
a snowball that gets rolling in a sense. So this is something also a little bit
about trends but you get the point. Nothing I have to explain you about that.
But what is "tags"? I'm not talking about the metadata tags that you have on your
video. Each and every niche on YouTube has tags. Tags like in a game of
tag. Like someone is... it's someone's turn to do a video and
then they tag other creators who respond to it. And I once did a tag on my channel.
That's the next video that you'll see in this playlist. And just to give you an
example about how a tag looks like. It's nothing complicated and I have to quite
frankly say, I tried to do a tag here on YouTube in the YouTube advice niche and
tags in the YouTube advice niche are really uncommon. It didn't really work
out. The hopes is that it will get a snowball rolling and many people chime
in on that tag. In other niches – beauty, entertainment and all that– it's much
more common. You have know your niche about it. But just to give you
an idea and then afterwards, if you want skip ahead, see you after this video when
we talk about next growth strategy again.
