Hi I'm Gerry from Gerry's Craft Room Today's video is part of Save the crafty
Youtuber video hop a group of talented crafters have prepared
a whole week of inspiration for you I will tell you about how you can join this hop and
have a change on winning one of the amazing prizes
at the end of the video
And I want give a big thank you to all of our generous sponsors
I'm going to use Nuvo Aqua flow pens and I'm going to show you a few fun techniques
I start with spraying the water colour card with water on both sides to prevent warping
I am going to add one colour and because of the water the colour starts moving
I will add some more water now and then and this way you get a bit of a fluffy look
I start adding the second colour and I just lightly touch the paper letting the colour
come out I'm not squeezing the pen
I just keep adding colour and filling up the gaps
always when I work on white card and start adding colour in the end
there will not be much white left what can I say I am terrible with white space
and I just love colours I'm adding some of the gold Midas touch
along the edges and it gives an amazing shimmer I squeeze the pen a bit to blend it with the colours
by the way I added the products I used in
the description box for you there you can also find all hop info and the
link to the next channel in line
you can see the colours keep moving a bit
until they are dry I dried it with a heat tool because I was
Inspired and wanted to go on but you can also let it air dry
I squeeze some of the colour out of the pen and I am going to make some splats
with the aqua brush just by tapping on it and this will give you some pretty shiny splats
I am squeezing some colour out of the pink pen and I am going to colour some salt with this
I add the coarse salt and spray some water
and then let it set a bit
for my next layer I cut some planks from a Tim holtz die
am going to colour them with a few layers
I start with the gold shimmer and then I add the brown colour called cinnamon stick
and I keep adding it in stripes to get a bit
of that wood look I have been thinking about what I wanted to
show it can be a bit intimidating joining a big group of talented crafters
but it's always a good thing to keep on breathing and just stay yourself
After drying you can see the colour is a bit lighter
I add a bit more brown and I colour the edges by adding the colour layers you create more depth
to add to that fun wood look
I squeezed some colour out of the pen to get a bit darker edges
and have more control over the ink I add more brown by touching it lighty this
time so I get nice fine lines I pick up the colour from my acrylic block
to get the deeper colour instead of squeezing it on my the planks
and now the coarse salt comes in I am adding bits to the die cuts
just placing them on the ends I am wearing a glove, I don't usually do
that it's so much harder to work with but this ink is so pigmented and I don't
like it under my nails because I take pinches of the salt it will
go just there and then I'm going to let it dry
on with the flowers I cut a bunch of flowers I start with a bit of water and then I add
colour to the center then I come in again with the water brush
and I'm going to spread the colour
I saw it needed a bit more colour because
it dried pretty fast
when the flowers are done I just let them dry
the planks are dry and I rub of the salt the result is some pretty texture and colour spots
I keep the coloured salt to use on another project
I am adding some splats of the gold shimmer
to create some more texture and shimmer and let that dry
and now the big flowers I spray them with water and add the darkest colour in the middle
and I add the lighter colour on the petals spray some water if they are to dry
they look kind of weird this is because the paper absorbed the water
but this will be fixed once they are dry
I like to have some ink on my acrylic block
to dip in the brush if I want extra colour instead of squeezing the pen on my project
I am going to shape the flowers using a stick the flowers are still wet
I hold the petals with one hand bend them around the stick and pinch them together
crunching up about half of the petal and then I let them dry
after drying I am going to shape the petals with a ball tool
at the narrow side next to the center and then turn it over and shape the middle
I use the nuvo flower shape set for this it comes with the little foam mat
and 3 different sizes ball tools after shaping I glue them together
I use the ball tool to push them in the middle you can also use a pen or something flat
this set was on my desk so it was easy
here are the finished flowers now it's time to assemble
I start with taping the planks I cut and coloured some ivy with distress
oxide bundled sage and that is going to be my first layer
by the way if you like this card and want to make it just like this great have fun creating
but you can also take parts of this cards or just some techniques you like
the colour scheme add or loose some things
just let yourself be inspired and follow your heart
I am going to add some thin wire and I wind that around a skewer
so I get a fun curly piece that will add a
playful detail I just glue and tape it to the card
you can keep the spiral close together or stretch it a bit
just play around with it
Now I am going to add the flowers I use glue
to adhere them to the card
and I finish with some nuvo crystal drops
and now for the giveaway on my channel you can win one of these Creative Expressions
