Information Technology division has to offer... gives you even more power to have
a successful college experience.
Hello my name is Amir Dabirian. I'm the
V.P. for the Information technology
and chief information officer for the campus.
I'd like to give you a technology tour of what we have done during the last
summer. Are you guys ready?
Now Titan Card Services is located in the newly
improved first floor of the library south.
In addition, Titan card has a new look. With this campus identification card, you
can pay for printing, food services on the campus, as well as some door access
such as your dorm room. On the back of the card, you'll find the phone number
for the 24/7 student counseling and psychological services for those in need
of help.
Visit Titan card today to upgrade your card for free.
Outside of the library, during the last summer,
the IT networking team doubled the campus internet speed
from 10 gigabits per second to 20
and added more Wi-Fi access points
for faster and more reliable internet connection throughout the campus.
Also, many classes were upgraded with the latest technology and
audio/video equipment for better presentations.
For advanced and scientific data presentations, the new high-tech data visualization Center is now available.
This facility utilizes all the tools needed for better
understanding and visualization of data in a variety of formats.
Other technology improvements to the library are the new charging stations.
They even feature wireless charging for supported devices.
The student genius Center has a new look in a new location.
If you have any technology questions related to your
password, email, or if you need to check out a laptop or load an app, you can get
help with all of that at the student genius Center in the library's first floor.
Just walk in!
For more support, contact the student IT help desk,
by phone, email, chat via the portal or text to get the help you need.
You can continue to access and download some of the best and most popular
software such as office 365, Adobe Creative Cloud, grammerly, Dropbox,
iFullerton and many more right from the IT website.
Information technology is
always improving the campus network security to prevent hackers from
accessing your personal data and information.
Just like for students,
the campus has a one-stop shop for all faculty and staff technology needs.
At the academic Technology Center faculty and staff can get help with
Titanium, portal, phone and Wi-Fi services and get answers and support.
At the second floor of the library,
there is the new advanced technology service center with
Digital Print Services as well as the Innovation Makerspace Center.
At DPS, you can print your digital documents
at any size or format you need.
The Innovation Makerspace was created this summer to fulfill
students creativity innovation and talent through advanced technology.
I'm very excited to show you this space.
It has variety of advanced technology devices and spaces for you.
First one we want to talk about is virtual reality allows to emerge into virtual reality.
Here we have what we call,
Microsoft surface hub. It allows you to
demonstrate using a specialized pen and be able to really create a collaborate environment.
Dell Canvas is for painting and using brushes.
The one behind me, is what I call raspberry pie station. You can integrate any kind of device into it.
Engineering and computer science students can use some of these devices.
Right behind you, we have a 3D printer that is available to you in this space.
Now, this the place that we want you to use for all your advance technology needs.
I want to say that our goal is to make sure that we have digital literacy for all students
and be able to emerge yourself in all these technology
in classroom or outside of your classroom.
We want to see you in the library
and using our technology every day.
