There's a saying that says every next level of our life demands a different
us. What's important about this statement is
understanding what is that next level of our life? Or what is success for us? But
what if we don't know what that next level is, what if we don't know what our
purpose is? You see, it's a lot easier to answer the question what is it don't we
like, what is it we no longer want to do, but it can be often harder to answer the
simple yet complex question of what is it do we want? Because so many of us
don't take the time to step back and reflect on this question of, what is it
do I want? And that tends to lead to the question, so what is my purpose? So what I
want to do in this video is to share with you some ideas, on how you can find
your purpose. You see, often you don't wake up in the morning and suddenly
think this is what I'm going to do for the rest of my life, or this is my
purpose. Even when I'm doing what I do today, I didn't wake up one morning and
say this is what I'm going to do for the rest of my life.
You see finding our purpose, comes from exploration, it comes from following our
curiosity, and so when we wait and think I'm still working out what my purpose is
before I start it, we can be waiting a very long time. It's the same concept as
waiting until you're ready, waiting until things are just right to understand what
your purpose is, because all of this isn't going to be handed to you. The
softer way to begin this process, to understand what your purpose is,
especially if you feel lost right now, is to ask a softer question of what am I
most curious about at this moment? You see, there is often wisdom in our
curiosities, wisdom in what appeals to our mind. You know, Steve Jobs shared this
in his famous Stanford University speech, in which he also talked about how we
can't connect the dots at the beginning, we only connect them looking back in
hindsight. And some of the things he took up
were from a young age, were things like calligraphy, things like design, all of
which while he didn't pursue them to be a career, ended up being very influential
factors into how he went about building Apple products. It's the same like me,
when I first started this journey, it started from the curiosity of I'm really
fascinated about the psychology of success, how some businesses could
experience incredible amounts of success in such short space of time, but also how
could some individuals get from A to B, and really trying to understand how they
did it. In essence, I was fascinated about codifying that journey, so I myself could
learn from those who had already done it. And that curiosity led into all the
other things I now do today. So my question to you in this video, if you
feel lost at the moment, if you don't know what your purpose is right now, is
to start exploring, by working out what are you most curious about now, and
taking those first steps to explore. You see, none of us can predict whether
something we try today, will be something we're going to do in the next 3 5 or 10
years, but we'll never know unless we begin to explore them, to find whether it
is something that we connect with, and it's often why going on holiday opens up
to opens us up to new experiences, new insights, new perspectives, and the more
we get ourselves out there to test these curiosities, to explore, then the more we
open up the mind, to what is possible, and also new ideas come through those
variety of experiences, taking us out of the normality of the everyday. So
hopefully you've enjoyed this video, hope this got you thinking, if you are in the
state of finding where your purpose is, or are just a bit lost in the moment. Leave
a comment below, on how you found it, and I look forward to seeing in the next
video!
