Leen has put the wood in the epoxy.
Now we can start with the first large pour.
This time we'll use a bit larger vacuum system for this.
This pour we'll do with the epoxy resin for large pours.
This system has a few advantages.
The long open time ensures a lower temperature during
the hardening and this resin is quite thin,
causing it to ventilate well and easily.

We've poured the first layer of epoxy
and we've also let a glass split sink in the epoxy for a nice effect.
Now we've let the epoxy harden for about 72 hours.

Today, to start with, we're going to pour a thin layer of epoxy,
and Leen, can you explain exactly what we're going to do?
-Well Kees, I've made a mold here.
And what did we do first?
We've smeared this mold with a release agent,
with PVA, to make sure that the object that we're going to pour also
truly releases from the mold.
The second thing we're going to do is pour the first layer of about six kilos of resin.

-For a nice air bubble free result we put the mixed epoxy in a vacuum dome.

-Now we've poured the underside of the table and now we'll continue with the wood.
-We're going to put the wood completely in the epoxy
to make sure that later on, during pouring of the table,
no air will be released from the wood.
