Dr. Basit Passion Video | Goshen Heart & Vascular - Duration: 1:44.My name is Adbul Basit, Interventional Cardiologist.
I became an Interventional Cardiologist because of my family experience.
My father had a massive heart attack, and I lost my father at a young age.
At that time, I decided to be a doctor.
I feel that nowadays or in the future that interventional cardiology will replace bypass surgeries and
cardiothoracic surgeries.
There are a lot of new innovations – the valve, stints – coming which are going to be almost
replacement for a surgical procedure.
The biggest surprise was about the quality of the patient care.
I am dealing with the patients who have heart disease, who have circulation issues, who
have suffered from a stroke.
The best compliment which I feel is when they are feeling good.
They have no symptoms.
They feel better.
Their risk factor is like I mentioned, they're under control. The other best thing is when
we opened the blood vessel and established a blood flow in heart attack patients, that
gives me immense pleasure.
When I go back home, my kids and my wife they can tell how good of a day I've had.
If I've worked hard, if I've worked for the heart attack patient I've taken care of, no matter
when I get back home, like 2 o'clock in the morning, my face is glowing, and they knew
I've done something which I like and why I am passionate.

Dr. Sayeed Passion Video | Goshen Heart & Vascular - Duration: 1:32.Hi, I'm Dr. Abrar Sayeed.
I'm one of the consultant cardiologists here at Goshen Hospital at the Heart and Vascular Clinic.
At a very young age, I had a personal loss, and that was very hard on me.
And it happened to be related to a little bit of medical negligence and I remember the day
crystal clear in my mind when I made a decision that one day I will practice medicine
and I will go above and beyond and make myself available to my patients.
I pretty much enjoy every day that I work but one day that stands out to me is that
I was called in the night about a patient who was found passed out at his home.
They brought him to the Emergency Department, and I had to come rushing into the night,
and we did place that wire in and the patient became stable.
He could get back to speaking with his family and just seeing that family huddle around
the bed of my patient and seeing those tears of joy, and that is something that gives me
immense satisfaction.
I am blessed to experience that, and that stands out in my mind.
For in that day I made a difference to a patient's family as well as to the patient's life.
When I came in for an interview here as I was speaking with the providers, I felt like
everyone involved was passionate about the work.
I have had experiences in bigger cities and over here, they are more accepting, more welcoming
and that is something that I hold close to my heart.
I feel like being a part of a family working here.

Dr. MacPhail Passion Video | Goshen Hear & Vascular - Duration: 1:27.My name's Blair MacPhail.
I'm an Interventional Cardiologist at Goshen Health.
I chose cardiology because it was something that made a difference fairly quickly.
You could see the results.
You could actually change the course of the disease process.
The things that attracted me to come to Goshen Health were a long-standing program that's
got an excellent reputation. They do the things I love to do which includes coronary
intervention and treating the acute MIs.
Also, the administration is good at working in a team-like fashion with doctors.
Everyone in the hospital, they work hard to try to do their best for the patient.
I personally feel like I'm having a great day when I can make a difference in someone's
life.
I love to take a patient who's having an acute event, such as a heart attack, open the
artery, stabilize the patient and to restore them back to their normal activity level.
Just before coming here, a young man presented with an acute MI cardiogenic shock. We rapidly
took him to the cath lab, placed a supportive device and then opened up the artery to the
front of his heart to stabilize him.
That is a good day.
That is a good outcome and that's why I enjoy doing what I do.
