I got a great place to show you a new fairly new home built in 2005 on 40

Beautiful acres, let's go take a walk,

We've barely walked in to the edge of the woods next to this deer blind, and we have already found 2 fresh scrapes and a rub.

Shhh!I think I hear some turkey now. Let's go!

There they are!

So we just saw the scrape and the rub Let's go on this trail.

There are signs of deer everywhere.

There's one right now

Live 2019 Like a Video Game! -- QuestLog Ep 1 - Duration: 3:15.

What's up everyone! Happy New Year.

I have decided something for this year.

I have decided I am going to live the next year of my life as if I were a character in a video game.

I have no idea how it's going to pan out.

My name is Jedd.

And you might be wondering, why have you decided to

live the next year of your life like Link, or Master Chief, or whoever?

And it's a valid question. Things are going well for me.

But frankly there are just a lot of areas of my life that I'm not fulfilled in

and I know that I could be doing more.

So being a gamer, and a game developer,

I figure if I can spend time in a game

and level up my stats, my skills, my loot,

why not do the same in the real world? Why not apply those principles to improving myself?

So I came up with three main questlines:

The first is health,

the second is business, the third is creativity.

And for each of these there are daily quests, there are loot drops,

and there's even a final boss that I'll be facing one year from today.

So first! Is health.

And not long ago I weighed in at the heaviest that I've ever been.

The healthiest thing I can do right now is to lose weight.

And so today I am committing to

exactly what I'm going to eat, when I'm going to work out,

and I'm facing a final boss at the end of this year of running a full marathon.

Did I mention this wouldn't be easy?

It's not gonna be easy.

Second, is my business.

I'm a developer, but I especially like making games.

There's one in particular that I've always wanted to make,

but I never got around to actually starting it.

This year I am going to commit to a daily quest

of working on it every single day; 365 days,

and releasing it at the end of the year.

So, third, is creative expression.

I know that one sounds a little bit weird, but let me explain.

I like the guitar. I love music in general, but I especially like the guitar.

Unfortunately I barely know how to play it.

And so I am committing to practicing 5 times per week for 30 minutes

and at the end of the year, posting a video of myself on social media,

for all my friends to see, of me playing a song on guitar.

Ok so each of these is a little bit ambitious.

Or maybe a lot ambitious.

But that's kind of the point.

They wouldn't really be epic quests unless they got me really fired up.

These are the areas of my life that are important to me.

And I think that's what matters is that I have this sense of purpose in doing them.

These are the areas of my life that I've been putting off

and me saying: I want to do these things with my life.

I'm going to keep this video blog every week,

and it'll be a way of not just keeping myself accountable

but also, hopefully, inspiring others who want to level up some area of their life.

So, yeah, this year should be interesting to say the least.
