Waching daily Jan 1 2019

It's so much easier to hunt mutants with a digital dog, or kill zombies with a digital

daughter-figure by your side.

Who needs real friends when you've got these buddies?

Like real-life dogs, Dogmeat is widely considered to be one of the Fallout series' emotional

centers.

A faithful and loyal German Shepherd, Dogmeat makes trawling through the wastelands all

the more bearable, providing much-needed companionship in a lonely world gone wrong.

As useful as he is loyal, Dogmeat's keen sense of smell is often the only way to stay alive

in Fallout's post-apocalyptic open-world.

"You're still constantly overreacting.

I have absolutely no idea how I've managed to keep you alive so long."

Always ready with a joke, funny or otherwise, Claptrap provides some comic relief and absurdity

in a game that's already about as absurd as they come.

He brags about his bravery while displaying extreme cowardice, and has some serious abandonment

issues.

Most of all, he just never shuts up.

"Oh wow!

Pandoran bandit!

Usually I see you guys while looting your dead corpses.

Clearly, he's gonna be the one that dies first, amirite?"

But, deep down, we all love him for it, and Borderlands just wouldn't be Borderlands without

his constant, nonsensical banter.

All things considered, he's a pretty solid companion, and we wouldn't take him any other

way.

Ellie is your companion throughout the majority of The Last of Us masterpiece, and the main

motivator for most of the action.

As humanity's only hope for a cure to the cordyceps-like infection turning humans into

what are essentially zombies, Ellie's safety becomes the player's responsibility, and a

big one, at that.

However, she's more than just a valuable package requiring safe transport.

Throughout your journey, Ellie becomes your surrogate-daughter, your rescuer, and your

friend.

"How about 'Hey Ellie, I know it wasn't easy but it was either him or me, thanks for saving

my ass.'

You got anything like that for me, Joel?"

Hal Emmerich, who goes by the alias Otacon, is one of the best companions in video game

history because he's a lot like the average gamer.

He's a not-particularly-tough computer geek, he loves anime, and he knows how to remotely

control a walking tank equipped with nuclear weapons, if needed.

Even if these traits don't apply to you, there's no denying that Otacon's a lot more similar

to Joe or Jane Gamer than perpetual badass and master of espionage Snake.

Originally a Sith-built droid and successful assassin for Darth Revan, HK-47 proves his

worth as a valuable companion not only in combat, but in conversation.

Probably the most quotable character in the Knights of the Old Republic series, HK-47

comes programmed with that dry, droid-like sense of humor we're accustomed to seeing.

"If I see one more idiot attacking a jedi with a blaster pistol, then I'll kill them

myself."

All in all, HK-47's one droid we love questing through space with, as he's equally well-equipped

for both battle and stand-up comedy.

Always there with a quip, a complaint, or a lewd story, Sully all but makes the Uncharted

series.

Sure, playing as Nathan Drake is great, but the games wouldn't be anywhere near what they

are if you didn't have Victor Sullivan.

He's your pal and father-figure, helping you mastermind treasure-hunting schemes, shoot

bad guys, and yell, "Draaaake!" every time you fall down a ravine to your untimely death.

Even when he's not accompanying you directly, he always seems to bail you out of trouble

by showing up with some sort of stolen vehicle.

"I can't leave you alone for a minute, can I?"

"I had everything under control until they blew up the boat."

One thing's for sure: if you're ever fleeing crumbling ruins, you'd better hope Sully's

waiting for you at the end of the tunnel.

Dogs are great.

But if you're a robot boy hell-bent on defeating the evil, well-oiled armies of Wily, a robot

dog is even better.

Rush, Mega Man's faithful, transforming robot dog, first appeared in Mega Man 3, and has

since appeared in virtually every successive Mega Man game to-date.

The canine compatriot is ultra-helpful, turning into a springy coil, smooth-riding hoverboard,

or crucial submarine whenever you require his assistance.

And you thought your Yorkshire Terrier was cool for playing dead, rolling over, and mangling

stuffed animals.

Horses are proud and noble beasts, but few are as majestic as Link's recurring steed,

Epona.

You first meet the beautiful animal in Ocarina of Time.

Though baby Epona initially wants nothing to do with Link, she eventually warms up to

the pointy-eared Hyrulian after he learns Epona's Song, and a lifelong friendship is

born.

Epona is a perfect companion.

After all:

"There's nothing more fun than sitting on an animal that's bigger than you and riding

it around."

Epona has since appeared in later games, helping us traverse fantastic landscapes in legendary

quests.

How to get the VP9 Codec on your Video! ■ UPDATED ■ Upscaling to 1440p (2k) - Duration: 8:30.

Hello and welcome to the updated Tutorial on how to get the VP9 codec on your Youtube Video

This is the old Video I did, the old Tutorial and this doesn't work anymore.

The old method of getting the VP9 Codec was to do something in the enhancements-tab of your Video.

If you did that then you would get the VP9 Codec on your video.

But that doesn't work anymore.

The two other methods are either:

1. Getting a lot of Views and Traffic.

Then you will get the VP9 Codec automatically.

Or 2. uploading in 1440p (2k) or higher (like 4k).

These are the only methods of getting the VP9 Codec.

So you can check if you have the VP9 Codec simply by Right-Clicking on a Video

and clicking on "statistics for nerds".

And then you will see the "Codecs" and mine is actually VP9 on this Video but

I have examples on which there is not VP9.

For example this Video doesnt have VP9, its codec is AVC.

And that is an objectively worse codec over VP9.

It does not matter on which Resolution you set you Video, it will be worse than VP9.

So the simplest thing would be to simple make 1440p (2k) Videos from now on.

If you can do it, do it.

If you cant, then this Tutorial is for you.

I will put Timestamps in the Videodescription and you can follow along the timestamps

if you want to skip, how I got to this conclusion and if you just want the Tutorial.

The Process

So what I did was:

I had a 1080p Video and I rendered it in different Resolutions.

The Resolutions I chose were: 1080p, 1440p, 1260p, 1200p, 1320p 1422p

And I rendered them.

I compared the render-times, the Handbrake times (because I use Handbrake to compress the videos).

And then I measured the Bitrate, the File Size and I uploaded them all to Youtube to

see which one of them would get VP9.

And the interesting thing is that I've waited all the time that I needed to render and upload these Videos.

And I put so much effort in creating this table that you can see right here

which is a weird mess of German and English and Handwritten

which was completely worthless because 1422p which is ALMOST 1440p

got rounded down to 1080p and not rounded up to 1440p.

So unless you have at least 2560x1440p it does not count as 1440p and it won't get VP9.

So this whole table is completely useless, we can just concentrate now on 1080p vs 1440p.

The tutorial

So if you wanna upscale your Video from 1080p

or 720p to 1440p (2k) and then upload it to Youtube without having bigger Files,

which is important if your connection cant handle bigger files, my connection cant handle bigger files,

that's why I did it.

You have to render the Video in your Video-editing-software at exactly the same settings, THE SAME BITRATE,

same Quality Settings, except: The Resolution has to be 2560x1440 Pixels.

Either that or more, but it cant be less.

And to keep the same Filesize you have to have the exact same Settings AND BITRATE.

And a quick note: If you use Handbrake, like me, then you will have to upscale the video

before you render it in Handbrake, because Handbrake cannot upscale, only downscale.

So keep that in mind if you use Handbrake.

Testing

And to test if the Quality would degrade

I tested this with my own workflow, which is: rendering Uncompressed in my editing software

and then compressing in Handbrake So in Handbrake there are 2 methods of choosing

what Quality and bitrate your Video will have: The Constant Quality Setting and the Average Bitrate Setting.

And I used the Constant Quality Setting.

I tried 2 things: the first thing I tried was I kept the exact

same settings that my 1080p Videos have for my 2k Video.

And this produced a much larger file and that is not what I wanted because my connection

cant handle bigger files, I need them the same size.

I tested around with different Quality Settings until I got the closest to the 1080p filesize:

while my 1080p preset was Quality 19, the closest to that for 1440p was Quality 21.

This produced almost the same Bitrate and almost the same file size, it was slightly

lower, so slightly worse quality, but it was by a tiny fraction, by like 2% or something.

So it was negligible.

And then I tested if the Quality would change, so I tested if the 1080p Video and the 2k

Video with the Quality 19 and the 2k Video with the Quality 21 would have the same or

pretty close results on Youtube and locally.

And you can see the tests now.

As you can see the 1080p doesnt have the VP9 codec and it looks pretty bad.

You can see in the lower right corner the arm.

Its very undetailed, the foliage is undetailed, everything in here is very undetailed and blurry.

And the Text is the worst.

So lets see the 1440p Quality 19 Video.

You can clearly see the Text is way better.

And the lower right corner is actually worse, I dont know why.

It's weird because some places are worse, some are way better.

The foliage looks better in my opinion.

And with worse settings, aka Quality Setting 21, it looks better.

I dont know why but with lower bitrate it actually looks better in this example.

But you can see the VP9 Codec is clearly better.

And to top that off, You have 1440p Resolution available.

And if you compare 1080p avc to 1440p VP9 upscaled, there is just such a big difference.

Just looks at this wall texture.

This wall texture suffers so much from 1080p and VP9.

It is so weird that this is not native 2k it is just the same 1080p Video upscaled before uploading but it just looks WAY better.

So to conclude if you want to have the VP9 codec and much higher Quality on Youtube

and even 2k technically, eventhough the Video was initially 1080p or even 720p.

I didnt try this with a 720p Video but I can imagine, it is pretty similar (just another Handbrake setting).

You just have to edit the Video in 1080p normally and then render in 1440p (2k)

and if you use Handbrake, just keep in mind that Handbrake cannot upscale, you have to do it beforehand.

And if you keep the same settings and bitrate the filesize will be the same

but it will still have higher quality on youtube.

And I will do that from now on.

So yeah, thanks for watching, if you havent seen my old Video, you can go and watch that,

there was a big discussion on how we can still get VP9 on our Videos.

And I hope you all will only get VP9 from now on.

I will put all these Videos and the Playlist in the description, so you can watch and compare for yourself.

And yeah that's it, bye guys.

Little Mix star Jesy Nelson shocks fans with n-word video - News Live - Duration: 1:57.

Little Mix star Jesy Nelson has shocked fans by posting a video containing a vile racial slur.

She posted an Instagram clip showing her out with friends on New Year's Eve, but followers were shocked to hear the N-word in the footage.

Jesy, 27, was seen with her pals singing along to music in the back of a car on the way to a party.

One of the group could then quite clearly be heard uttering the n-word on camera. That video has now been replaced with a soundless version.

Fans were stunned to hear the racial slur in Jesy's video and they flocked to Instagram to complain.

One wrote: "Hey fav, you should probably delete the video of dilem saying the n word on your story.

"Also, tell her it isn't appropriate for her to say it!'"

Another commented: "Ok but why did you record your friend saying the n word on your story?."

One more added: "Ok but why did you record your friend saying the n word on your story?"

Jesy was recently asked to get out of an Uber taxi because the driver took exception to her friends' singing.

She said at the time "So we've just been thrown out of our Uber guys and had to get another one because James was pretending he was in The Greatest Showman and then kept saying, 'You're driving me nuts'.

"So he kicked us out. What have you got to say for yourself, James?"

The controversial singer also sparked a feud with Good Morning Britain presenter Piers Morgan over a tattoo of a revolver on her thigh.

In that light, a dramatic haircut seems like a pretty tame way to round off a wild year.
