How to Use ISO for Amazing Video | #EasyWins - Duration: 2:36.
- Howdy guys, just to let you know
why there is a magpie in one of our easywinds.
Is that this poor baby magpie flew over,
landed on the back of our camera operator, Luke.
Because, it was being chased by some viscous mynas.
Now, myna birds if you don't know
are absolute pests with sharp beaks
and they'll kill anything.
I don't know why, I don't know if they eat them,
who knows, they're just annoying.
So, we've actually saved this baby magpie.
It's been hanging around our shoot this whole time
and so we're going to keep it safe.
Do this easywind with the magpie.
And then, we're going to go take it to a relevant person
like the RSPCA or something like that.
Anyway hope you enjoy this easywind, see you soon.
Oh, it pooped on the ipad, oh no!
Do you want to get to know your camera better?
Meet ISO, one of the key features to master
that will certainly improve both your video
photography skills.
So what is ISO?
In very basic terms, ISO is the camera setting
that will brighten or darken your shot.
As you increase your ISO number,
your shots will progressively grow brighter.
So, an ISO of 100 is used for really bright situations.
And between 400 and 800 is your average setting
for a well lit indoor area.
An ISO of 3,200, would be used for
evenings or more low light situations.
So, if you're ever in need of a situation
that you need more like in your shot,
then you can always bump up your ISO
to allow your camera sensor to capture more light.
But keep in mind, too much ISO can be a bad thing.
The higher the ISO, the more artefacts and noise
you'll be able to see.
The other downside is that a very high ISO,
your video or photo won't be as sharp as if you
shot at a lower ISO.
The specific ISO number will greatly
depend on your camera.
As some old cameras or cameras with a small sensor,
like a GoPro, drone, phone.
They might struggle at an ISO of 800 or 1,600.
Whereas, if you were using a professional
DSLR or video camera, you would be able to enter
the realms of 6,400 and beyond
before you begin to see any noise.
So have a practise to see what your camera
is capable of and remember,
don't be afraid of taking control of your ISO
and manually adjusting it.

and become a part of the Shootsa family.
Looking forward to seeing you soon,
till then, take care.
You going to say goodbye?
Buh-bye!
