Waching daily May 2 2018

Video games are a funny things, they're like movies you can control, and a movie,

in its most basic form has 2 parts, a visual part and a audio part, among all the little

sounds that make up the audio track of your game there's almost always a music track

to go with it, whether it be subtle and atmospheric or ver obvious orchestral music.

Music is the best way to make someone feel a certain way, and if done right in combination

with visuals and gameplay elements all of them come together into something great.

Today we're just talking about one of these parts though, the music!

Super mario galaxy Possibly not what you were expecting but hear

me out, mario never has been particularly focused on music, why?

Because music is usually best used for more story based cinematic games, make you feel

a certain way in a cutscene or get you excited before something big is about to happen, sad

when a character dies, you get the point.

In mario, you walk to the right and jump… just some upbeat tunes will do the trick!

But then mario galaxy came around and someone figured "eh why not, let's make this orchestral"

and you know what?!

It works really, REALLY well!

From the moment you start up the game, the first introduction to the music in this game

you'll never want to stop listing!

There is a total of 28 songs used in the game and they are honestly all very good, some

better than others, but all GOOD!

Spyro This game might actually be the exact opposite

of mario galaxy, they are both 3D platformers but where mario galaxy went for a orchestral,

really obvious style of music, spyro the dragon , and in particular Spyro 2 ripto's rage

does for a more atmospheric type of music, something less obvious but still catchy to

listen to.

It adds to the feeling of the level you're in and is composer wonderfully.

Not something I would catch myself listening to aside from playing the game but in a way,

that's not a bad thing!

This soundtrack blends together so well with the game, one wouldn't work without the

other.

It's like watching a horror movie without the sound, it's not scary, playing spyro

without the music would take away most of the charm, and just listening to the music

on it's own doesn't give you the charming feeling either, it's the combination of

music, level design and gameplay which works so well in this game when they allsome together.

Rayman This list keeps getting more abstract as we

move down it.

The Rayman soundtrack, specifically the one in Rayman 2 : the great escape is hardly music

anymore as you might think of music.

The music almost blends in with the sound design of the world and it wouldn't surprise

me if you went through most of the game without noticing the levels have music at all, it's

so subtle but it does it's work.

This is all helped by the fact that unlike most game, and unlike any other game on this

list, the songs aren't just audio files playing while you play the game.

No, the game loops certain parts until you cross into a new area at which point it will

transition the loop into the next part, making the music feel seamless while making you feel

like you're playing the game at exactly the right speed.

If you notice the music changing at all, because of course this all helps with you not even

noticing the music if you don't pay attention!

Kingdom hearts We've had our fill of atmospheric subtle

music, we want a damn orchestra again!

So we look to square enix.

I dont think I'm telling any sort of lie when I say that there's not a single song

in the ENTIRE kingdom hearts series which is bad in my opinion.

Of course there is more memorable ones.

Songs like organization XIII's theme, a song you hear pretty often and sticks with you

because of it's dark and eerie tone.

But there's also songs like friends in my heart, a lighter more emotional piece.

The range in one of these games, let alone the entire series is actually insane.

But I'm talking about best GAME soundtrack not GAME SERIES soundtrack so naturally I'll

go with Kingdom hearts 2, the game that introduced us to organization XIII and their theme but

also riku's theme, roxas' theme, and well, I think I go go on for a little while, let's

just say there's a LOT of good songs in this game and BOY am i looking forward to

Kingdom hearts 3!!

Final fantasy Don't tell me you're surprised because

you can't be if you've ever heard me talk about this game, first let me say that while

any given final fantasy game is a great soundtrack, I personally pick Final fantasy X as my favorite!

While all the final fantasy games have big and impressive stories, non build a world

quite as well as number 10.

This world is built through cutscenes, character interaction but above all, the music in this

game!

The music playing when going to zanarkand, the last place of your journey..

At least as far as you think at that point… is calming as quite, unlike what you would

think of preceding a final encounter.

Every area has a nice sounding piece of music, even areas that look a little alike will be

recognizable because of the music that plays.

Because of this all the range in this game's soundtrack is insane!!

Like I mentioned to song to zanarkand is quite and claiming while something like tidus's

theme is still calming, yet fuller of sound and the hymm of the fatierh sound mysterious

and a little unnerving and the final boss theme is an actual metal song!

After a whole game of listing to an orchestra that's kinda jarring and I love every second

of it!

Thanks for watching this countdown list!

Got an idea for another lisT?

Let me know in the comments down below and while you're there, let me know your favorite

game soundtrack!

I'm curious to read you guys' opinions!

Until the next time, Bye!

Chem10, Video #1 - Conversions Part B - Duration: 4:54.

Hello! So in this video I will be showing you another conversion problem, except

this problem requires a few more steps because we're not only converting from

micrometers to meters, we're also converting it from days to minutes and

we're still going to use the unit prefixes table along with a few extra

steps in order to find meters per minute... So like I said in my previous video we

should start with a plan to make sure that we are properly converting each

factor to where we want it to be at the end. So in this plan I start with

micrometers because that's our initial, and then we convert micrometers to

meters. And since we have meters at the end we

stop here. Then we that's when we convert from days to hours to minutes to

find the denominator because you can't just convert directly from days to

minutes. You need to convert days to hours, to minutes. Okay, so we're going to

start with our initial unit which is 70.0 micrometers per day. And you

always write the units that you want at the end, to make sure that as you're

crossing out units, you end up with meters per minute... So we are first going

to do the conversion factors from micrometers to meters. So since we got to

cancel out micrometers, micrometers would go to to the bottom and meters would go to

the top. Next we do the conversion factors for day. So this is already

crossed out and then we have meters over day now. So day needs to be in the

numerator because they have to cancel, and then we would convert that to hours.

We have hours right here. Next, we convert hours to minutes.

So since hours is the denominator here...-let me just cross these out first-

so hours is that the denominator here, here so hours would be at the numerator

in order for it to cross out. And since we need minutes to be at the denominator,

minutes would be at the denominator. Now we have meters over minutes and all we

have to do is just plug in our values based from the unit prefixes chart and

what we know on how many hours are in a day and how many minutes are in an hour.

So we look to the unit prefixes chart for "Micro" and micro is 10 to the negative 6.

And micrometers is smaller than meters due to the prefix "Micro" being 10 to

negative 6, which is a very small number. But remember, when we're putting in the

scientific notations within the conversions, the exponents are always

positive and the bigger unit (in this case) it's meters, it

would have a 1 and "Micro" the prefix is 10 to negative 6

but the exponent is always positive. So for the next two conversions you don't

really need to do any unit prefixes within these two because we already know

how many hours are in one day and how many minutes are in one hour so we just

plug that in there. So in one day there are 24 hours and in one hour is 60

minutes. So after you input in all those values within your calculator like so,

you would get an answer of 4.861 times 10 to the negative 8 meters per

minute. However, don't forget about your significant figures! We have originally

started with 3 significant figures here so we have to end in 3 significant

figures here. Now to properly round this answer to 3 significant figures, which

would be 4.86, you would have to look for the last number and see if it's

greater than 5 or less than 5. In this case, one is less than five, so you do NOT need

to round the 6 up to 7. You would just keep it the same so it would be

4.86 times 10 to the negative 8 meters per minute. And this is how

you properly convert by using multi steps when involving two different types

of units.

Chem10, Video #1- Conversion Problems Part A - Duration: 4:55.

Hello.

So in this video I will be teaching you how to convert

from

nanometers

to megameters by using

the unit prefixes table.

First before I begin,

I will be talking about the unit prefixes. So as you see here I have

written down the symbols of the prefixes. So T stands for "Tera", G stands for "Giga", M

stands for "Mega", K stands for "Kilo", d stands for "Deci", C stands for "Centi"

lowercase M stands for "Milli", mu stands for "Micro", n stands for "Nano", and P stands

for "Pico". And next to each symbol is the corresponding scientific notation which

will be... which we will be implementing into our conversion factors from

nanometers to mega meters...So before we begin I highly recommend writing the

number or the initial value that you have at first and then writing the unit

that you want to find at the end so you can make sure that you're properly

crossing out any conversions or if you can see if you're missing any

conversions... Next you want to write a conversion plan to make sure that you're

following the steps needed to properly convert from nanometers to mega meters.

So in this plan we originally start with nanometers, so we can't really convert

directly from nanometers to mega meters because it's just is not appropriate and

right, so you would have to first convert from nano meters to meters

and then from meters to mega meters. So since we need to convert from nanometers to

meters we would write our conversion factor as having meters at the top

because we're trying to look for meters, and to cancel out properly we have to

have nanometers at the bottom. So this properly cancels out.

Next we are going to convert from meters to mega meters so we need to have

meters at the denominator (or the bottom) and mega meters in the numerator at the

top because that's what we're looking for. So therefore, these cancel out and

now we have the unit of mega meters that we needed... So now we put in our units

based from the unit prefixes chart. So as you can see here we have the prefix Nano

which is N and N is 10 to the negative 9. However when you put in these scientific

notations within the conversions, the exponent is always positive regardless

of what it is on the chart it's always positive when you're inputting it into

your conversions. So, meter is bigger than nanometer as you can see Nano is 10 to

negative 9 and meter would be bigger, so the bigger unit would always have a 1

and nano meter which is 10 to the negative 9 but the exponent is always

positive (in the conversions) would be 10 tonight instead same thing goes for the mega meter over

meter. Mega meter, mega is 10 to the 6 so it would be bigger therefore it would

have a 1 and the prefix mega is 10 to the 6 and it's already positive so we

just input it as it is at the denominator... So after you input in your

values, you divide 8.30 by 10 to the ninth and then divide that answer by 10

to the sixth in your calculator. As you can see here, we have done that and our

answer would be 8.3 times ten to the negative 15, so I have -let me

just write that down- to negative 15 mega meters however don't forget your

significant figures! We have started with three

significant figures here so we need to end with three significant figures here.

So this would be 8.30 times 10 to the negative 15 -OOP sorry there- to negative

15 mega meters. And that is how you convert from nanometers to mega meters

by using the unit prefixes chart.
