The study started in the Faculty of Pharmacy in 2015
by the ministerial decree no. 376

in the Faculty of Physiotherapy by the ministerial decree
no. 3238 on August 18th, 2015
The university was founded to deliver a distinguished high education
and the most important characteristic of this education is that it's student-centered
The faculty members only help and guide
the student where he/she is the one who carries most of the responsibility to learn
therefore the student achieves self-actualization and pride because he/she is the one
who managed to acquire most of the information on his/her own
The student also becomes happy for gaining knowledge
and this is our main focus in Deraya University to achieve interactive learning and self-learning.
The Faculty of Pharmacy
includes several laboratories equipped with the state-of-the-art devices
to create an exceptional learning environment
for the student to practice the practical parts
after the theoretical lectures

and equipped with the latest and best equipment
like a data projector and a smart board

The credit hours system allows the student
to compile more than the regular full year
The small number of students

and to have hands on practice in each lab
where each student does the practical lesson alone

and teaching rooms where the students can receive knowledge

and stress management
through extracurricular courses given by the university
In addition to that
we have elective courses to broaden the students' horizons
And I think that we are one of the few private universities
that teach ancient Egyptian history and philosophy
That's a proof that we value Human Sciences
as much as
we value specialized pharmaceutical sciences

Here in Deraya University, our priority is the students
We try to develop their presentation skills
where they are not just students who are given lectures
but we try to teach them presentation skills
and how to interact with the lectures as if they were workshops
At the same time
starting from the first year
we teach the students how to make good accredited researches
and how to use the library
and look for the needed information on their own
Therefore, the students will feel their responsibility towards the society
Deraya University's students will be distinguished
The faculty members were carefully chosen
We choose the people gifted in education and teaching
We choose faculty members who completed their PhDs
in Egypt or in any other country
and who have a considerable experience in teaching
whether in public or private universities
where they should be able to deliver information to students
A magnificent library that holds
scientific paper reference books, magazines and journals
besides the electronic library
to help the students gain knowledge
as our motto is "Knowledge Shaping the Future"
The university leadership believes
that students activities
is an inseparable part of the educational process
because it's an integral part to create a bright promising generation
The students' activities are managed by
the Student Welfare Department
Besides that, the university built several playgrounds
for the students' activities
Deraya University nurtures and fosters brilliant and excelling students
not only academically
but also physically especially in sports
because students' activities enables the students
to be exposed to different experiences
that will help him/her in his life in the university and after graduating
There are many different activities at Deraya University
like football, volley ball, tennis
and many other activities
that students can participate in
the different students' activities are not only physical
but also cultural, scientific and scouting
And we always encourage our students
to participate in the fraternities and sororities
that I personally supervise
and we aspire that all our students
will participate in these activities
The Pro. Dr. President of the University, the Deans
and the Vice Deans all support these activities
We have some students
who enrolled themselves in the Egyptian Pharmaceutical Students' Federation
(EPSF)
This group of students made some notable activities
in the previous years
and achieved a high score among the other participating universities in this federation
A competent and efficient Administrative Staff
whose job is to facilitate and help the students
in everything they need
A specialized department for housing
to provide the sojourn students with a suitable economic accommodation
under the university's supervision
The university provides regular buses
to take the students from and to Minya City
There is a specialized medical center in the university
to treat and take care of the students' health
The university cafeteria enables the students
to have an enjoyable time
in the breaks between the lectures

means spacious green land spaces
The university's main aim is the practical skills
so we focus more on practical labs than lectures
we focus more on clinical experience than theoretical teaching
Finally, here in the university
we arranged a program
to help the students acquire several skills
that will help them when they graduate to find prestigious jobs
These skills include language skills
not only English but also Arabic
because many university students are not very good in it
In addition to languages, they learn computer skills
They learn how to use computers through practical lessons
The university also tries to deepen the cultural dimension
in the students through studying Philosophic Thinking,
Scientific Thinking and History
