Today is the last day of 2017! (Japan time)
We decided that we will each think of one kanji that we thinks represents 2017.
Japan's Kanji for this year is
What was it again...?
It was "北" (Kita/North) !
Oh yeah that's right.
"北" Represents isues with North Korea,
as well as the major rain that they had in northern Kyushu this year.
There were a lot of topics that had to do with "North" this year.
That is why they decided that "北" will be the kanji for the year 2017.
So we would like to do our own version of this today!
We have come up with two kanjis that we think represent our year.
Bren will go first.

米！（Kome/Rice) !
米 Also represents America. Seigo and I moved to America this year!
And in English?
Rice...
That's kinda funny
Well, this is my kanji for this year.
Plus I love rice!
I think I ate a lot of rice this year...
Yeah that's true! I was thinking that maybe we wouldn't be able to eat much rice in America,
but we bought a rice cooker in Japan.
And a huge bag of rice.
We eat rice almost every day!
So this Kanji means both America and rice.
For all of the rice that we ate this year!

That's weird!
Yeah, it also means "Weird".
This kanji means change!
We came to America this year,
and we came out to our friends and family.
Two big changes in our lives.
I also quit my job in Japan this year.
And we started our new life here in the states.
I really feel like there was so much change this year.
This Kanji also applies to Bren as well.
It represents the changes in our life together.
Yeah so did my kanji!
We just started making youtube videos about a month ago,
and we would really like to do many more things with this channel in 2018!
There are so many things we could do!
More videos about the differences between America and Japan,
Or more videos about LGBTQ.
We would really like to keep uploading videos on a lot of new topics!
Videos about our everyday life as well.
