Video 01: Substation Structure - Duration: 2:19.

Hello everyone!

This is Helinks tutorial video number 01:How to Create a ...

Substation Strcuture

Click on the "Single Line" icon on the dashboard to begin.

In the single line scree, click on "New Substation"

from the "Substation Strcuture" palette

and then click on the canvas to create a new substation.

Give it a name.

This substation contains two voltage levels.

To create a voltage level, do the same task.

V1

and

V2

Each voltage level has one busbar and one bay.

To make sure for the correct voltage level,

bay and busbar are made, click on that particular voltage level

and then proceed to create the busbar and bay from the ...

"Bay Types" tab.

Bay 1

Busbar 2

and bay2

So we have bay 1 and busbar 1 for V1 and bay 2 and ...

busbar 2 for V2.

Each bay contains one circuit breaker.

Again, click on that particular bay,

make sure this icon is highlighted

and then click on the "Circuit Breaker"

from the "Power Equipment" library to create one.

You can leave the default name in place.

The same for bay 2.

Use the right mouse click on Bay 1 and choose "Select ...

Children" to check its structure.

You can see that the circuit breaker is highlighted.

If you do the same for V1,

Bay 1 and busbar 1 are highlighted.

And for V2

Bay 2 and busbar 2.

If you do it for substation,

all the elements on the screen which are part of the ...

substation structure are highlighted.

So you have created a correct substation structure.

Thank you for your attention and see you in the next video.

Video 09: Network Diagram Configuration - Duration: 2:45.

Hello everyone! This is Helinks tutorial video ...

09: Network Diagram Configuration.

After importing IEDs to the project,

in order to complete the implementation,

they would have to be instantiated to the workspace.

That task is done in System Diagram of Helinks STS.

Open it from the dashboard.

As you can see IEDs are already imported and network ...

diagram is partially complete.

The gateway is a D400 from GE

and

IEDs assigned to each bay are connected to a switch ...

and all switches are connected in a ring topology.

What should be done is to complete the instantiation for ...

IEDs of bay 04 and 04 which are BCU and BPU.

And also complete the network topology.

First, let's create a switch for bay 04.

On the right hand side, under "Generic Devices",

click on "Switch" and click on the screen.

Call it S4.

Use IEC 61850 Connection under "Network" tab

and draw a line between S3 and S4

and S4 and S0.

Each time a connection is made,

an IP address is assigned by the tool

If an ICD file is imported, the IP address is generic.

If an IID or SCD file, in which the IEDs are already ...

instantiated, is improted,

the IP address is the same as in those files.

Now, we must place the correct ...

IEDs for bay 03 and bay 04.

IED for BPU is already in place,

BCU is missing.

Under "Siemens" tab,

click on Siprotec,

click on the screen.

It will be J03BCU.

and connect.

For S4,

ABB IED 630 will be

J04BPU

and Schweitzer under SEL tab

will be

J03BCU.

The network diagram is complete and all IEDs are instantiated.

Thanks for your attention and see you in the next video.

Video 03: Create functions - Duration: 2:48.

Hello everyone! This is Helinks tutorial video ...

03: How to create functions.

The first step is to open the function specification diagram ...

by double clicking on either a bay,

a voltage level, a busbar,

or a substation.

Do it for Bay 01.

In this window you can see all the functions created

for the primary equipment by Helinks STS.

We would have to create two additional functions.

Choose "New Function" from the "Functions" tab.

And then click on the screen to create.

Call this one "Time Overcurrent"

Create another function

called "Tap Changer"

since this is a transofmrer bay.

The next step is to associate proper logical nodes to each function.

By using one of the name spaces here provided by ...

Helinks, we can choose the proper logical nodes.

We choose the 61850-7-4 edition 1 namespace.

For Time Overcurrent, we can go to Protection ...

function logical nodes

and choose "PTOC" which is time overcurrent and "PTRC"

which is the protection trip.

For Tap Changer, we can go towards Automatic Control

and choose

Automatic tap changer controller ATCC.

Click in the function to add that logical node to the function.

Next, you can change the signals ...

in each logical node by using the right mouse click on a logical node

and then choosing "Configure Signals".

You can see for "PTOC", some signals are already ...

associated with this logical node

per default.

But for PTRC

we can see no signals are there.

So choose edit here

and you can add the signals from the attributes for PTRC ...

on the left side of the screen.

For example, you can choose Tr.general

add it to the logical node.

The functions for bay01 are finished

for bays 02, 03,

and 04, since they are coming from the library

they come with their own premade functions along with ...

logical nodes so all we have to do is to choose time ...

overcurrent from

the functions tab and create it in the bay.

That comes with its own logical nodes and signals.

Thank you for your attention and see you in the next video.

Video 06: MMS report specification - Duration: 2:22.

Hello everyone! This is Helinks tutorial video ...

06: MMS report specification.

One pillar of communication specification is MMS which is ...

vertical communication

The task is to specify inputs for the substation HMI clients ...

which then would be included in the report control blocks.

In Helinks STS, that is done in the function ...

specification diagram of the substation.

Double click on "Sub" to open that window.

As you saw in the video about virtual 61850 clients,

we already have made these clients.

To configure inputs for any of the interface logical nodes,

Use the right mouse click on one of them

and choose "Configure Inputs".

For example ITCI for "NCC".

Here you can choose which signals to include as inputs.

Click on "Select".

If you expand the "Sub" option,

you have the choice to include all the signals in the ...

substation, or in the voltage level or in ...

the bays. Or you can choose very ...

particluar signals

if you go deeper and find specific signals for each of the bays.

We choose to include every signal as part of the voltage level.

Two different report control block groups are created ...

once communication is configured.

All the Status signals

which have the "ST" functional constraint are ...

grouped into buffered reports.

And all of the Measurement signals

with the functional constraint "MX",

are gouped into unbuffered reports.

At the bottom of this window, you can choose to create ...

only buffered or unbuffered reports

or just let inputs be classified based on their functional constriant.

We choose that one.

Press OK,

and OK.

We do the same for ITMI.

The MMS reports are specified.

Thanks for your attention and see you in the next video.

Video 11:02: Communication Validation - Duration: 2:24.

Hello everyone! This is Helinks tutorial video ...

11.02: commmunication validation.

In part 1, we learned how to configure communication.

In part 2, we will learn how to validate it.

At the Dashboard, click on Communication.

In this page, we can view all the ...

information about communication applications,

through these different tabs, and verify them.

Let's start with GOOSE matrix.

Plus signs are available next to each publisher.

Which is J02BPU, J03BPU, and J04BPU.

If you open one of them,

you can see the name of the GOOSE control block,

the data set name, GOOSE ID, app ID,

mac address

and the name of the subscriber.

Next, open the reports tab.

As you can see, report control blocks have ...

been created based on the inputs we specified for D400 ...

gateway in the single line diagram.

Buffered report control blocks are made for the status signals

and unbuffered report control blocks for the measurement signals.

Data Set tab shows the data sets for the aforementioned ...

report control blocks.

Inputs tab shows the input section

for the gateway or HMI through the interface logical nodes

and

GOOSE message subscriber

which is J01BPU.

We can get more informaiton about each input or data set ...

or report control block

by clicking on them and viewing the properties section.

So far, everything seems correct and ...

the communication has been configured successfully.

Thanks for your attention and see you in the next video.

Video 11.01: Communication Configuration - Duration: 2:03.

Hello everyone! This is Helinks tutorial video ...

10: communication,

part 01: communication configuration.

Once the implementation is finished,

we can configure the communication sections ...

which have been specified such as GOOSE and MMS reports.

At the single line,

find the button called

set SCL communication settings from specification.

And click on it.

You have the option here to save the current configuration,

delete it,

configure it from new, or restore the original configuration.

You can also choose to configure GOOSE,

reports, or sampled values,

or all of them.

Moreover, you have the option to select IEDs

to be part of the configuration

or exclude some of them.

We will configure all IEDs,

and everything.

Press OK.

This notification window is showing whether the tool was ...

successful or not.

In case of errors

which is here,

we can check.

As you can see, the errors are related to

unmapped signals or unresolved signals.

And they should be inspected.

However, no major errors have occured

so we press OK.

Communication has been configured successfully.

You will learn about validation in part 2 of this ...

video. Thanks for your attention and ...

see you in the next video.
