well I know we're winding down from pumpkin season but who's ever really
done with pumpkin right I've got a recipe for you for fried pumpkin well
hello there para peeps and welcome to another edition of panic D videos
haunted history recipes I'm Mary Ann and today we're gonna take a look at one of
my favorite locations in Gettysburg the farnsworth house their pumpkin fritters
well the Farnsworth House Inn has civil war-era foods and so the recipe that
we're doing right now possibly have been done even during the
Civil War very simple ingredients and definitely always very tasty treat
as I mentioned in the intro this one is for fried pumpkin it's kind of like a
hush puppy but it's pumpkin so here's the
ingredients that I have for today of course you're gonna need pumpkin and
some flour egg salt some baking powder course some pumpkin pie spice and some
nutmeg cinnamon those are the ingredients for the fritters themselves
but of course we're gonna need to fry them in something so here's some
vegetable oil and of course after we're all done of course a light dusting of
powdered sugar mmm the measurements for all of these ingredients and of course
the full recipe we found down below in the description first thing I'm going to
do is I'm going to take my vegetable oil over to the stove and let it start to
heat it has to get to 350
time to start mixing I'm gonna start with my egg because it's
the rest of the ingredients there's my cupcake
calls for a half a teaspoon of salt but I never put that much if you want to go
right ahead I'm just gonna put a little little pinch of salt in there my baking
powder and all of my spices
as you can see it doesn't make a whole lot but at the Farnsworth house the
pretty much made to order and get a half a dozen in a serving for them this is
supposed to make 15 I'll probably get a little bit more cuz I'm gonna make a
little bit smaller
about 350 degrees Fahrenheit so we're ready to fry these is whatever you like
doesn't get these in here she wanted by the spoonful so I'm just the music
I just want to make sure that you leave plenty of space in there for them to
float around fry them till they're golden brown
I'm gonna do a half dozen like what you get at the Barnes house
then we're going to take those out and we're going to drain those off onto some
paper towel
I'm just gonna go ahead and fry the rest of them up and we'll be right back
pumpkin fritters all fried up now we're just gonna make a little bit more
delectable
