Hello, I'm Soham Desai A wonderful welcome to all of you, tuning into this edition of
crash course history, key concepts 2.1, south Asia.
This video will focus on how the development of states and empires resulted in the foundation
and transformation of religion and culture.
This Provided social stability for the society.
However the development of religions also created some opposing views and beliefs.
This in turn affected the political and economical development of empires within south asia.
In the Indian subcontinent, in south asia, this relates to the religions of hinduism
and buddhism.
Hinduism in India originated from the indo european migrations of aryan populations from
central asia.
With the migration the vedas were introduced to the indian subcontinent.
The vedas were a collection of hymns and poems that portrayed religious activities and literature
described that formed the basis of primary religion in india.
Hinduism did not just influence religion, but it also served as a foundation for a social
system.
Hindu Hierarchical structure originated from social divisions between the native dravidians,
who were of darker skin tone and the Aryans who were lighter and had more capabilities
both politically due to their militaristic forces and economically.Patriarchy was also
established early on and became reinforced by laws and traditions which taught patricahal
standards and promoted the dominance of men in society.
Hinduism Then underwent a transformation that made it a more integral and a part of life
in south asia,.
This change was initiated by the philosophical teachings of the upanishads, which focused
on the meaning of life and the connections of individuals to the entire universe.
Their philosophies focused on individual personal reflections, this resulted in the development
of several important concepts.
The "Atman" which is the individual everlasting soul found in every single living being."Brahma",
the all powerful supreme being in which all atman are reunited too.
Acting as the one major god in hinduism, in which their are avatars and reincarnations
of, thus fuelling the debate on whether to classify hinduism as monotheistic religion
or polytheistic, "Samsarah", which was another major concept is the endless cycle
of birth and rebirth, "Dharma", defined as one's duty, and "karma", a belief that
those who do good, will achieve enlightenment or be reincarnated into a better life form.
The ultimate goal for all hindus was for the "atman" to be united with the "bhraman"
through continually doing good deeds and having good karma throughout multiple lives, and
eventually being reincarnated into higher and higher states of life and being.
This allowed for the formation of the caste system, which was built upon, social divisions
and described classes with strictly defined social roles, it determined one's place within
society.
The caste system precipitated many aspects of life during this time period and was a
basis for cultural, religious, and economical activity.
Hinduism had profound effects on indian culture, as epics such as "Ramayana", the tale
of prince rama, and "Mahabharata" the war between family and the hesitation to fight,
These epics developed hindu norms and morals.
Hinduism also had lasting influence on politics and economics.
The caste system had an influence on both politics and economics . The highest caste,
the "Brahmins", who were priests and teachers, held the greatest power and influence.
The "Kshatriyas", were second and acted as administrators and warriors thus holding
great political power as well.
The largest caste "vaishyas" were traders, merchants, and landowners, commoners who held
control of economic production.
The lowest caste, the "shudras" were labourers that held little to no political power and
influence.
Buddhism was the other major religion that impacted south asia, it was founded by a man
named Siddhartha Gautama, who lived as a prince, and was a kshatriya.
He observed suffering all around him and decided to abandon his caste and life as a prince
in search of a way to end suffering.
He lived and aesthetic life and gained enlightenment, observing both meditation and fasting.
He became the first buddha, known as the enlightened one.
Buddhist principles were established.
"Nirvana", was the buddhist state of enlightenment.
Another principle being "The four noble truths", which talked about the elimination
of suffering leading to nirvana.
ahh the eight-fold path hehe eight folds get it?
The eightfold-path was a process where buddhism changed their way of life, giving up materialistic
possessions and Undergoing a change in mentality which involved right understanding and right
thoughts.
Both hinduism and buddhism share some similar beliefs and principles such as karma and reincarnation.
However, there were also many significant differences between the two, one being, buddhists
did not believe in the caste system or social inequality.
Many buddhists believe in both monasticism, and asceticism, beliefs in which followers
gave up materialistic and worldly possessions in a search to end suffering and achieve nirvana.
Buddhism was embraced by emperor ashoka of the Mauryan empire, who promoted its practice
throughout the indian subcontinent during his rule.
Besides that period in history Hinduism has had a dominant control over a majority of
India.
Ladies and Gentleman, that just about wraps up key concepts 2.1

Kid Rock on Fox News: 'Screw That Joy Behar B–ch' [VIDEO] | Heavy.com - Duration: 3:34.Kid Rock on Fox News: 'Screw That Joy Behar B–ch' [VIDEO] | Heavy.com
Kid Rock was interviewed by Fox News Friday morning and shared what was likely meant to be a positive message to America about putting aside political differences, regardless of beliefs, to love one another … except for Joy Behar.
You don't need to love Joy Behar, according to Kid Rock.
The rock star was initially talking about how people are too politically correct these days, and how people should stop hating each other over differences in opinion.
However, as he is expressing what sounds like a message of solidarity, he throws in a jab at Joy Behar, a well-known liberal host of The View.
Steve Doocy, who was interviewing Kid Rock, immediately attempted to cut Kid Rock off and apologize to viewers, telling the rock star that you "cannot say that," while Kid Rock tries to correct himself by saying "I mean, 'lady.
Kid Rock insisted he was joking, and tried to followup his comment with an explanation.
Doocy says, "listen, she just has a different point of view than you do," to which Kid Rock agrees, claiming the main point of his rant was to bring the country together, and to remind everyone that "we're all Americans.".
"Exactly, hey maybe I'll go on [The View] and I'll hash it out with her and talk about it, but aside from joking, which I was, just go out and hash it out with people and have your thoughts and ideas, but be able to still go have a beer with somebody and be able to say 'hey, we all love this country, and let's have different ideas,' but still try to move forward.
The video quickly went viral, and Joy, along with the rest of "The View" crew addressed Kid Rock's statement on air Friday morning.
Check out Behar's reaction below.
Although Behar smiled and invited the rock star to join "this bitch and these bitches" on the show and to have a beer together, the other ladies were a bit torn.
Meghan McCain was confused as to why Kid Rock would suddenly be so "off tone" to how he normally relays his political views.
"I just wish he practiced what he preaches just as we should all practice what we preach," McCain said.
"Coming together – because we are all ultimately Americans.".
Behar finished the clip by joking about Fox "having to apologize for something," especially on her 20th anniversary as a host on The View.

Tender hearts... Tender hearts
We can't change them
We can't change them
The first rays of sunlight
We can't change them
We can't change them
Whatever...
changes...
The friendship in the heart
is eternal forever
The friendship that has bound and impacted the heart
cannot be changed even by time or God
These are the fragrances of the memories that showered at every moment
And remained like rivers
In the tide of the heart
You are a sweet wave
I'm like a staute even if you are splashing at me
I stood still forgetting the past
Your memory isn't seen in the breath
Whom does the raindrops that mixed in the soil belong to?
At the time when the cloud speaks in the form of thunder
In the twist of forgetting the tender toddler steps
During our childhood
Even if I don't see you for a moment
My heart revolted not being able to bear that
and dug the mines in eyes
Let the tears keep flowing down like a waterfall
The thing that opened the closed doors of memories...
...is the time that changed a stone into a human
The minute that bound us is a blessing
It's the re-birth that doesn't have death

Well, you only need the light when it's burning low
Only miss the sun when it starts to snow
Only know you love her when you let her go
Only know you've been high when you're feeling low
Only hate the road when you're missing home
Only know you love her when you let her go
And you let her go
Staring at the bottom of your glass
Hoping one day you'll make a dream last
But dreams come slow, and they go so fast
You see her when you close your eyes
Maybe one day you'll understand why
Everything you touch surely dies
But you only need the light when it's burning low
Only miss the sun when it starts to snow
Only know you love her when you let her go
Only know you've been high when you're feeling low
Only hate the road when you're missing home
Only know you love her when you let her go
Staring at the ceiling in the dark,
same old empty feeling in your heart
'Cause love comes slow, and it goes so fast
Well, you see her when you fall asleep
But never to touch and never to keep
'Cause you loved her too much, and you dived too deep
Well, you only need the light when it's burning low
Only miss the sun when it starts to snow
Only know you love her when you let her go
Only know you've been high when you're feeling low
Only hate the road when you're missing home
Only know you love her when you let her go

BREAKING: Trump Destroys 'Weak, Liar' Cohen In Explosive New VIDEO!!! - Duration: 14:00.BREAKING: Trump Destroys 'Weak, Liar' Cohen In Explosive New VIDEO
he put out a statement talking about a project which was essentially I guess
more or less of an option that we were looking at in Moscow everybody knew
about it it was written about in newspapers it was a well known project
it was during the early part of 16 and I guess even before that it lasted a short
period of time I didn't do the project I decided not to do the project so I
didn't do it so we're not talking about doing a project we're talking about not
doing the project Michael Kohn what he's doing is he was convicted I guess you'll
have to put it into legal terms but he was convicted with a fairly long term
sentence on things totally unrelated to the Trump Organization having to do with
mortgages and having to do with cheating the IRS perhaps a lot of different
things I don't know exactly but he was convicted of various things unrelated to
us he was given a fairly long jail sentence and he's a weak person and by
being weak unlike other people that you watch he's a weak person and what he's
trying to do is get a reduced sentence so he's lying about a project that
everybody knew about I mean we were very open with it we were thinking about
building a building I guess we had in a form that was an option I don't know
what you'd call it we decided I decided ultimately not to
do it there would have been nothing wrong if I did do it if I did do it
there would have been nothing wrong that's what's my business
so he's lying very simply to get a reduced sentence I don't know when I
decided but somewhere during the period of time I was never very enthused
somewhere during the period because I was running for president my focus was
running for president but I when I run for president that doesn't mean I'm not
allowed to do business I was doing a lot of different things when I was running
after I won obviously I don't do business when from January 20th but more
importantly I ran a business in fact I often joke about the fact that I was the
only person that campaigns and simultaneously ran a business but that
was that was a project that we didn't do I didn't do that was the project that
wasn't done for a lot of reasons number one is that I was really not that I had
to do it but I was focused and running for president I wanted that to be my
primary focus not running or building a building
well this was a deal that didn't happen that was no deal I mean if you look this
was an option I guess I don't know if I want it I want to be very specific but
to my way of thinking it was an option that I decided not to do so excuse me
excuse me this was an option in a forum but here's
very simple we had a position to possibly do a deal to build a building
of some kind in Moscow I decided not to do it the primary reason that could have
been other reasons but the primary reason it was very simple I was focused
on running for president there would be nothing wrong if I did do it I was
running my business while I was campaigning there was a good chance that
I wouldn't have won in which case I would have gotten back into the business
and why should I lose lots of opportunities so here's the story go
back and look at the paper that Michael Kohn wrote before he testified in the
house and or tennis it talked about his position what he's trying to do because
he's a weak person I'm not a very smart person what he's trying to do is end and
it's very simple we've got himself a big prison set and
he's trying to get a much lesser prison sentence by making up the story now
here's the thing he was right it doesn't matter because I
was allowed to do whatever I wanted jury the campaign I was running my business a
lot of different things during the campaign so very simply Michael Kohn is
lying and he's trying to get a reduced sentence but things that have nothing to
do with me now let me go a step further I think you should go back I think Allah
January it was just reported very well by Catherine Herridge it's terrifically
broader Orbach he talks about a letter that he signs I don't even remember it
and it specifically talks about this deal this deal was a very public deal
everybody knows about this deal I wasn't trying to hide it okay
we're gonna talk about it but we have a lot of we have a lot of things
I think we're very close to doing something with China but I don't know
that I want to do it because what we have right now is billions and billions
of dollars coming into the United States in the form of Paris or taxes so I
really don't know but I will tell you that I think China wants to make a deal
I'm open to making a deal but frankly I like to deal we have right now I
probably will be meeting with President Putin we haven't terminated that meeting
I was thinking about it but we haven't they'd like to have it I think it's a
very good time to have the meeting I'm getting a full report on the plane as to
what happened with respect to that and that will determine what I'm going to be
well I have a couple of reports we're getting a finalized report are you
talking about on the Russian situation with the ship and the Ukraine yeah we're
getting a finalized report I'm gonna have it on the plane sometimes it just
wasn't set up
it only wasn't set up I mean I would I would have met with him but we didn't
set that one up by meeting with President Xi which is a very important
meeting happen to do with trade and as you know I'm making about three or four
meetings we just didn't have time
I'm gonna bring it up yes
I don't hear you gotta talk see that you have a helicopter
no the question was asked yesterday about parties with respect to Paul
Manafort who it's very sad what's happened to Paul
the way he's being treated I've never seen anybody treated so poorly but the
question was asked to me by the New York Post and I said no I have not offered
any party and I think they asked for whatever would you I said I'm not taking
anything off the table that was done as a question from the New York
because the long time ago he did me a favor a long time ago he did me a favor
just take a look at his written document go back take a look at what he wrote and
I think January is a written statement and that's the back
I don't know what the helicopter
Special Counsel investigation is accelerating at some point possibly soon
we're going to see Robert Muller's report or parts of it it was not
released to the public parts of it will certainly be leaked we'll have that
information the question is how should we assess it Alan Dershowitz has thought
a lot about this question he's a retired Harvard Law School professor author of
the case against impeaching Trump and he joins us tonight professor thanks for
coming on so are we likely to see this report in whole or part and what should
we think when we do well first we will eventually see much
of the report probably the whole report eventually but we should never see it
until we also see the president's legal team rebuttal because otherwise it's a
completely one-sided presentation remember it's like an indictment even
though it won't be an indictment it's one-sided it's based on the testimony
only of witnesses that the prosecution sought to call and as everybody knows an
indictment can't be used as evidence of guilt it doesn't undercut the
presumption of innocence it's just a charging document and that's the way we
ought to read the report issued by Muller it's simply an accusation and we
must see the other side of the story before we can come to any conclusion
somehow people think it deserves more credibility because it's a Special
Counsel report but that's not true Special Counsel is just another
prosecutor looking at one side of the case and he will present a one-sided
account which will be very critical of his subjects so the report there's no
requirement that the report has balance in it or shows both sides of any
question quite the opposite it's a prosecutorial
report it will not show balance anybody who expects balance fairness nuance is
looking at the wrong kind of document you can't have balance when you haven't
heard the other side of the story when you haven't called witnesses who might
be exculpatory when you've only tried to put together a prosecutorial case and
that's why it's essential that the president's team be permitted to issue
their own report at the same time the Muller report is issued interesting so
the people who said we need a special counsel investigation to find out what
happened as an informational exercise we're lying to us so let me ask you a
more fundamental question about this but absolutely yeah so every person who
wields power in our society by design has some sort of oversight we can we can
defeat our elected representatives and elections we can recall or impeach our
president or judges the special counsel were told can't be fired because that
itself would be an impeachable offense so is there oversight of any kind of the
special counsel well first of all firing the special counsel would not be an
impeachable offense because it wouldn't be a crime the president would have the
authority to do it it would be politically very damaging to right away
look technically there is oversight over the special counsel in the percentage of
the Attorney General of course our Attorney General was recused now we have
an acting Attorney General but the regulations provide that the Attorney
General is not supposed to micromanage the work of the special counsel he's not
like any other US Attorney who's under the direct supervision the ultimate
control the Attorney General has is whether to release the report under what
circumstances to release the report whether to redact parts of the report
whether to reject parts of the report and send it back to the special counsel
and say look you didn't do a good enough job go back to the drawing board and do
it again it's unlikely any of those things will occur except I think that
the Attorney General would be wise to demand that before the special counsel
report is released to the public or even Takei
that the president's legal team be given an opportunity to review and rebut it
and provide their own report then the American public in Congress can see both
sides in tandem and make an intelligent decision as to where the right is and
how to bring nuance and find the truth the truth is best achieved through an
adversarial process through presenting all sides of an issue not presenting one
side of an issue that's the whole premise of this show by the way
professor thank you great to see you tonight thank you thank you god bless
you and God bless america

Hello, Complexly friends!
My name is Nicole Sweeney and I am a producer here at Complexly, mostly working on Crash Course,
but also on some other stuff, like the federal court system videos on this very channel that you should definitely go check out,
because I happen to think that they're pretty great.
Next weekend is the Project For Awesome and as always I am super excited about it.
If you don't already know, The Project For Awesome or P4A is an annual charity event that includes a 48hr livestream and an awesome IndieGoGo campaign
AND lots of people all over YouTube making videos about charities that they care about,
so that people will go to projectforawesome.com and vote for those charities to receive some of the money that's being raised.
The thing that I love about that is that it encourages everyone in the community to get invested in an organization
in a way that doesn't actually require you to spend any money.
It's an opportunity to think about a cause that matters to you and to go find the people who are doing the work to fix that thing.
It's also a really cool chance to flex your creative muscles and try to tell other people why the charity that you picked is so great.
SO! My playlist.
This playlist begins with some advice on identifying causes that you care about, and how to get involved,
and then pick a charity that does work on that cause.
Then, I've got some videos talking about how the heck to make your video in the first place.
Even if you've never made a video, you can make a P4A video.
There are some videos from lovely vloggers who made videos explaining their whole process from beginning to end;
tutorials on how to do the whole thing – shooting and editing – on a phone;
and then some slightly higher level (I guess? I don't know.)
videos on how to spruce up your sound or lighting if you've made some videos, but wanna make your P4A video extra snazzy & special.
Plus, Hank made a video with some P4A specific tips about how to, like, talk about your charity and get other people excited about it.
Then, as a bonus, the decade old original P4A vlogbrothers video.
Thank you for watching, happy video making, and don't forget to watch the 48hr livestream next weekend,
and check out all the awesome perks on the Indiegogo campaign, and all of that other stuff at projectforawesome.com

SMVLL - CUMA WORLD + LYRIC VIDEO - Duration: 3:26.WHICH HAS CLICKED THE SUBSCRIBE BUT TO DO THE FAST SUCCESS
Hey everyone it's seeker and believe it or not guys even though
I made a video all the way back in June about
What I use for streaming and recording.
I still get a lot of questions about it and I thought I'd make a new one because I have had quite a few changes
plus I am in the middle of having a stream/video editing room built
So that I can get out of this very cold garage and if you can't hear the reverb going through the microphone
There's a lot of reverb and so I'm gonna fix both of those with one stone
but I get this question a lot and I thought maybe it'd be cool since it's been about five or six months and I have
Made some changes now that I primarily
stream and edit from here as opposed to my other location that I would go over it again I would show you what I got
Actually behind me is a pic of my PC I'm on my green screen right now but guys
Let's go ahead and get into it I'm gonna go ahead and just show you a video just go over a couple of things
It's all gonna be hardware this isn't showing off OBS or
Premiere or any of the editing stuff that I do or how I record although
I do plan on doing that in a future video right now I just want to go over the hardware this is the hardware or
The computer and things that I use when I'm creating editing
Streaming, so let's get into it guys, I hope you like it
I leave a comment let me know what you think
Okay, guys
here's my streaming setup as I currently have it as you can see I got it on a long table and
I have everything mounted to the table with my PC behind it on another table and the reason
I do that is because I don't want any shaking from like the cameras mounts and things like that to be
Affected by when I move the regular table so I got the two cameras mounted to the reverse table but the microphone has you know
That's fine to be mounted there because if it shakes a little bit you're not going to know
But we have that mounted we have both of the monitors actually mounted to the table
which is really cool because they you know I can move them I can adjust them I can swing them in and out and
Additionally I can use all the space under them like when I'm streaming I just push the keyboard under there and that's a mechanical keyboard
Right there I love that Logitech keyboard but my favorite thing is that little stream
Deck that you see right there which I will do another video on that I just started using that thing it's absolutely amazing
But we have two 24 inch monitors that
We have mounted up on it and coming back from the side you can actually see behind it if you look you can see all
The cables and it's not the prettiest it's a little bit of a mess
But that's alright we also have a couple of studio lights that's how we keep our green-screen nice and flush
You got to have good lighting with a green-screen otherwise it's just not gonna work very well
shadows and things like that and different you know textures are different
Light patterns essentially are going to mess that up so you definitely want to keep that
but the PC itself
Very proud of this PC I built it specifically for streaming its a Ryzen7 1700x it's an 8 core processor with 16 threads
it's got 32 gigs of DDR 4 RAM I do like RGB so you can see all the blue blue glowing
RGB is in there it can change colors but that's besides the point it's got a Samsung Evo 970 512 gig
nvme as its primary drive its got to
512 gig
SSDs that are in raid 0 for faster read writes for video editing I got two other hard drives that are also in raid 0
for video storage and then I have another backup hard drive that's on the server that's actually and in clone
or mirror
Drive so that when I back them up if one of the drives fails everything else is protected but that's on a different computer
there's that monitor mount though that I was talking about very cool that you can
You know mount it up so you can have all that space under - you know like I got for example my Alexa there that's
the Dymo labelwriter you got the elgato
It's all actually sitting under the monitor which is really awesome it gives you all that extra space so mounting it
In my opinion essential I just absolutely love it that's the best way to go about it in my opinion
Right, there guys that is my blue Yeti it's got the pop filter on it as you can see that keeps you from the P's
And you know popping it breaks up the wind now right here guys
I slowed this down so I could talk longer but I just wanted to show you the inside of the case with the side of
the case off just because
I really like the RBG the the blue glow and I can change the color with the remote or
Even use them with software but you got the blue glow on the LEDs that's on the memory on the fans around in the case
it's just something I really like so I just wanted to take the tempered glass side panel off and just kind of show you the
inside of the case because I thought it was pretty cool looking
All righty everyone there you go what did you think leave a
Comment below and let me know and guys if you liked the video you can hit thumbs up but if you didn't like it you
Know what to do it's all right
Above me you can check out coolstax.com and subscribe and guys over there I did leave you a couple of other videos to
Check out on my channel as well I hope to see you in the next one

EAS 1600 Video Project Fall 2018 - Duration: 2:48.Good evening and welcome to the Georgia Tech news network. I'm your host Jordan Flagg, and I'm Mary Hartness. This evening
We're reporting on some breaking news, which we have just received which is that Hawaii's infamous volcano
Kilauea has again begun spewing lava into surrounding areas and it's a dire situation.
Thanks, Mary. Now let's talk about what that means for the residents that live in close proximity to this volcano.
Even before this point, Kilauea is the most active volcano on the Big Island of Hawaii and has been undergoing an eruption since 1983.
This can be attributed to the fact that it sits on top of a hot spot, an area where heat radiates so intensely through the earth
that mantle plumes of hot rock are generated by convection currents and pushed upwards into the plates.
It is in no way unexpected or unusual, but it is still worrisome for the residents of the Big Island.
Kilauea is a shield volcano, a type of volcano which gets its name from how these features look from above.
Fortunately for our friends in Hawaii, a shield volcano is not prone to violent explosions due to the fact that they typically produce mini
eruptions. Over the years, these mini eruptions build on the sides of the volcano, which do allow for further flow of lava
which can be harmful for the surrounding residents.
Another type of volcano is a cinder cone volcano, which has a cone-shaped vent due to the massive violent eruptions
Which are a result of surrounding gas charged lava. This lava exists within the central crater imagery that dominates most people's perception of volcanoes today.
Meanwhile composite volcanoes
Which are also known as stratovolcanoes are unique because they are often tall
carrying magma from deep inside the earth out through the central vent as well as through breaks in the crater wall and fissures on the
Side of the volcano slopes. Some of the most famous composite volcanoes are Mount Fuji, Mount Saint Helens, and Mount Rainier.
As you can imagine these eruptions are usually quite violent.
The least well-known type of volcano is a lava dome, which is formed by low viscosity lava that rather than forming a cone, instead piles
Over and around the vent. These domes do not have very smooth surfaces and can grow quite large with the Novarupta dome
Which formed during the eruption of Katlmai volcano in 1912 measuring 800 feet across and 200 feet tall. While most of the world's volcanoes
exists along mid-ocean ridges, many volcanoes also exist on land on subduction zones
Which is where one plate dips beneath another. Those in Hawaii should be aware of potential issues with sulfur dioxide, carbon
dioxide, and hydrogen gases. Even more dangerous
Although released at about one percent by volume, are carbon monoxide, hydrogen sulfide, and hydrogen fluoride.
People on the Big Island should be aware of lava flows which can travel up to 40 miles per hour. This concludes the night's broadcast
Please monitor your local news channels for more updates and we'll see you next week.
Goodnight
(slow, dramatic music)
- My name is Diana Mitchell, and this
is a picture of my daughter Brooke Mitchell.
In July of 2015, I had the biggest nightmare
when my daughter came to me and told me she
was a heroin addict.
In 17 months, with treatment and trying
to get all the help I could, we lost her on January 2017.
Brooke was pretty much a straight A student, honor roll.
She loved to swim, she was on the swim team
for Northhampton for many years.
She was an avid reader, she loved the movies,
she loved the beach.
She was definitely an amazing person if you knew her.
We're dealing with children, and we're dealing
with parents that have never been through this before.
You have to have some compassion somewhere.
I'm sitting there blindsided, I have no idea what I'm doing.
This is not my life, this is not who this is happening to.
This is happening to me.
We're a middle class family, we work our tails off.
We have a good family, we have a good,
it doesn't happen to, you don't think it happens to you
until it does.
- Your child is a unique person.
They're a unique individual.
They've got unique things that are going on.
And you want to believe the most amazing things
about your kid, all parents want that.
They want to make sure that their kids are going to be wonderful.
Nobody wants to think that their kid
is going to be struggling with addiction.
- I think any difference you see in your child,
change of friends, drop in grades,
really isolating themselves to their rooms,
not telling you what's going on with them in their lives,
mood changes, being really angry.
The level of reaction that you get from your kid
sometimes is so out of
the norm and out of character.
And those are signs that parents see,
but a lot of times, they just say,
oh, they're just being teenagers.
Because, as parents, we always want
to think, oh that's not my kid, and it could be.
- I had started calling for treatment,
calling the school guidance counselor,
what do you know of where I can get help for my child?
This is what's going on with Brooke.
And she was absolutely floored
because she was an honor roll student.
This doesn't happen to honor roll students.
She's a good kid, she never got in any trouble.
As a parent, you have to listen to your gut feeling.
I knew something was not right
but trying to decide between a teenager
and trying to decide if something's wrong.
And addiction, which later I found out the specific signs,
but we don't really look for them
because it's not my child, couldn't possibly be doing this.
Oh, it's high school, or it's this.
So some of the signs were her friends changed.
That was the biggest one, which is the biggest sign
that everybody put.
But, of course, it was always explained away.
If your child's wearing long sleeves in the summertime,
you might want to rethink that.
If their tempers are flaring and out
of nowhere they're just, you don't see that person anymore.
Of course, once I found out she was an addict,
then I could decipher the difference
between the addict that was talking to me
and my daughter, and they were two very different people.
And I cannot stress enough to families to work together.
If Mom says, you know what, I think Jimmy's not doing,
something's wrong, Dad doesn't need to say,
oh, it's just a teen thing.
As parents, we know something.
I never in a million years expected it
to be this concoction of poison
that they're putting out here.
I call it poison, they call it opioids, Fentanyl,
you name it, it's all mixed together.
- I think the most important piece
is realizing that, as a society,
addiction is a family disease.
It's not just about the person that's using the substance.
It's about the whole family
and how their journey with their loved one
also makes them ill as well.
And so the whole family is in need of services.
And it's very easy to say, well, it's not me,
I'm not the one with the addiction.
But everybody needs help.
And as parents, I don't think we understand either
how closely we need to watch a sports injury
that could accidentally lead to an addiction
or a past surgery that people really aren't remembering
but the medication is still in the medicine cabinet.
It might not be your child that's possibly taking it,
but what about one of their friends?
I think we just have to be very mindful
about how we manage
the opioid epidemic and the availability
to especially our kids.
- Keeping your ears open, at the same time having
that compassionate, loving relationship,
open relationship, with your kids, is really important.
So knowing where your kids are going,
knowing who their friends are,
knowing who their parents of their friends are,
making sure that you have the who, what, where, why,
and how on a regular basis with your kiddos,
making sure that children understand your expectations.
Talk to your kids on a regular basis; it's so important.
One of my favorite strategies that I tell folks
when working with teenagers is go for a drive.
Teenagers don't want to necessarily look you in the face.
But if they're sitting next to you,
you can have some really amazing conversations
about what's going on in their lives with them
if they don't have to look you in the eye.
And so that has always been a good strategy
for young people and for parents.
- Having a conversation with your adolescent
and just frankly ask them the question
if they're using substances.
Sometimes, at that point, they're very honest.
And so then you talk about seeking professional help
because the biggest thing, we want to seek professional help
so we can get the screening and assessment
and the treatment planning so we can intervene
as quickly as possible.
- It's better to be safe than sorry.
And the sooner that you can begin to address issues
if they are there, the better.
It doesn't take long for especially an adolescent brain
to become addicted.
Brains aren't fully developed until they're 25.
So adolescents are particularly
at risk of making bad choices,
engage in risky behaviors, and think that nothing
is ever going to happen to them, that they're invincible.
- Know that no one else in this world
is going to support me but my parent.
And if you can't do it, find somebody else to do it.
Find a trusted family member, a trusted professional,
whether it be the Community Services Board
or another provider.
Find what works best for you and your child
because it's about survival at this point,
because once they try that drug, it's automatic addiction.
(guitar music)
- Well, I have my own history of substance use.
I am a recovering alcoholic, been sober
for a few years now.
And I thought I was done with everything,
and then in July of 2016, my little brother died
from a heroin and Fentanyl overdose.
And when that happened, I went and I changed my major
at school and decided to become a substance abuse counselor.
I'm hoping to make sure that Michael's death
wasn't for nothing.
If I can use his story
to help one kid not make that same mistake
or make one family not have to go through
what my family is going through.
He was 19, he was a cool kid.
He loved music, he really was a sweetheart.
He played football growing up,
started getting into guitar and just trying
to teach himself how to do that.
It's so weird him not being around.
And now I have a young one of my own,
and I go outside every night into my yard
and look up and try to talk to him and just be like,
ask him to watch over us.
And it's hard to
have him not be here, 'cause I know he
would've been an amazing uncle.
And I'm so sad that my son's never
going to get to know Michael.
It's changed everything.
Just life isn't the same anymore.
I just miss Michael.
(guitar music)
- So back and forth, through Brooke's treatment,
Myra would watch her everyday.
Did she do her work, did she do whatever?
She was in constant communication with her.
The amazing job that that woman did
for my daughter and the day she sent us,
hey, she's got the point, she did it,
she graduated, congratulations.
I could hear Brooke screaming through the phone,
just jumping up and down.
She was so excited that she had earned that.
And that's what they need to see.
These kids need to see that there's light
and that's it not always dark.
And they need to be shown it because they're already lost.
But thankfully, Myra Chambers and my daughter
and the Teen Treatment Center in Florida got my daughter
to graduate.
And she marched across that stage.
At rehearsal, the entire class stood up and clapped for her.
And then here I stand in 2017, and I've lost my child
because of a stupid decision.
- As a graduate of Hampton City Schools,
I care about you and your well-being.
I'm here not to check a box, not to make you feel better,
but to help you open your eyes and see.
Look around you, know your friends,
say something, do something, don't wait.
Don't think I'm going to get in trouble.
It's not about you getting in trouble.
It's about you saving your life,
your friend's life, your friend's friend's life.
Do something, say something.
(slow, dramatic music)
- She said, "I want to wake up one day
"and realize that life isn't as terrible
"as I've always thought it was.
"I want to feel happiness, not sadness,
"relief, not pain, love, not loneliness and hate.
"I could care less about how much money I make
"or how many friends I have, who likes me,
"dislikes me in life.
"If I ever want to make a change
"in the lives of others or in the world,
"I need to start with myself.
"Therefore, before my time is up,
"I just want to be okay again."
And she was working really hard at that.
So, in her words, hopefully we can make change.
(steady, serious guitar music)

Weebly Theater Page: Linking Websites and Video - Duration: 8:28.Hey guys, just me and the dog hanging out today
and we're gonna talk a little bit more about Weebly. I wanted to talk a little
bit more about your theater page - and so here I am on Weebly
and remember you should also have - I'm sorry let me show - you should also have a
link to the play you saw. So how do you do that? Again I'm just gonna say that
I'm pretending I saw Pike Street at the Berkeley rep, and so I just googled that -
here's that info here - and on your Weebly site, when you're in edit mode - again
there's a couple ways you can do this: one is you could put another button. So I
could come up here and I could take a button and I can drag it here and again
if you click on that it gives you more options, so maybe for this button text I
want to say get tickets: Pike Street - and I should delete this - and then now for
the link oh again you know you have styling options here so you can make it
look the way you want to. For the link now I'm going to link to a website URL
and I'm just gonna come over here and I am going to copy the URL of this page.
Let me move this down so you can see me copy that and then I am going to pop
back over into my Weebly. I'm gonna paste that there
and I can see that it's there - so there's that. And now you can see I have
two buttons - there's my get tickets to Pike Street and Theatre research paper - so
that would be one way to do it. Another way to do it would be to drag a text box -
so you could drag a text box wherever you want it. If you put it in the wrong
place you can just drag it around, even once it's on here. So you can drag it
by the buttons and maybe you want it here and so you could just put
text here - get tickets Pike Street. And then if you highlight this and press
this little create link button, that will also give you a place to paste in
a link to the theater showing you saw. So you can do that. I'm sorry
going crazy here- and again that's just a little - big dog - okay that's just a
little paperclip thing here and so I did not save that. OK so there are
options here and the other things that you're supposed to do - I'm going to pop
back over here - you have links to some of the sources you use when completing your
theater research. Feel free to repurpose the sources you
referenced in your paper or when you were doing your research and you did
your work cited page for our class. You don't have to reinvent the
wheel here. So let's say I was doing the the Pike Street Theater piece and now I
need one of the reviews. am going to just go
Pike Street play Berkeley Rep and I'm gonna add reviews. Alright
and now here is a review of it in Mercury News, so now again I can
use the button feature and I can link this that
way. So that is an option- so if you want to do
your whole thing with buttons - maybe you have another button over here that's
like --- here's a button like you could say
review one or maybe you want to put the name of the review - it's up to you. And
again then you can hyperlink in too - just copy this and then
and I can paste it in and then it will be hyperlinked. so that's a
great option if you want to get fancy and kind of include visuals you could
also take screenshots of pages. Maybe you want to make this a
little smaller, maybe you want to take a screen shot of this so-
I'm on a Mac so I would go command shift four and now I can take a snapshot that
I could put on my page and hyperlink the image. So that's just another thing to
think about again I really want you to be making this sort of reflective of
what you think looks right on the page, so feel free to be creative there. all
right, another option is you might have a video that you
took or somebody has done a a video review, and you can also embed HD video or
YouTube links here. You again just kind of pull this over and that will slap it
down on the page there for you. sometimes that might take a second as it thinks
about it - and I'm gonna make a video in a little bit talking about how do you
spruce all these things up so they look nice together. But here we go -
it's like add a video to your site and so now over here I just googled Berkeley
Rep Pike Street YouTube - so let's go to youtube and
maybe you realize - oh here's the trailer for Pike Street. So now I can
copy this link here and then I can pop over to my Weebly and I can add this and
again you can play around with the positioning this way.
okay I'm back at my Weebly and now I have a video embedded right which is
like a little trailer of the play that I went to see. So just some options, things
to think about. I'm sure you guys have your own ideas and that's good too
Hope you all are doing great

Red Velvet Release 'RBB - The 5th Mini Album' and "RBB" Music Video | Billboard News - Duration: 1:04.We talked about the teaser earlier this week and now we can enjoy not only the song,
the music video but the entire project as Red Velvet has dropped
'RBB - The 5th Mini Album.'
The visuals for the title track "RBB (Really Bad Boy)" have a spooky horror vibe and
see the five member group bust out their dance moves in a variety of settings from a pink
room with a checker-pattern floor, to a foggy prop-filled pumpkin patch with the
Hollywood sign lingering behind them. The members go on to escape wolves, pose inside
picture frames, and sing from low-hanging clouds. The EP features six upbeat
tracks which Billboard deem "Harmony-heavy, electropop."

The forgotten before & after lip fillers video - Duration: 4:18.get those spritzers ready because we have another lip filler special
hi guys my name is dr. Sarah Tonks I'm a cosmetic physician in London glad to see
you all back I know last week I said that they were only gonna be two lip filler specials turns out I actually filmed more people than I thought I had and now
we've got three hurrah so without further ado let's go over to our first
patient who's actually a chap the men get lip fillers done why yes yes they do
and look at our good-looking lad over here
he's already gorgeous how can we make him even more gorgeous well he wanted to
get a bit more volume only in his upper lip everything else for him was
absolutely fine and I have to say I do agree with him if I look at his ratio
you can see it's kind of a bit off isn't it so we don't have that whole 1/3 to
2/3 ratio going on here we can definitely improve what's going on just
as an aside would I do anything else can't really see the lower part of the
face due to the beard but a bit of loss of volume right here on each side but
not too much bit of loss of volume around the eye in the tear trough area
and beneath could maybe do that I think everything else looking pretty
tickety-boo so let's go over and see exactly how we did it this is definitely
more of a classic lip augmentation because I literally just injected along
the Vermilion border I also did the middle tubercle and that was about it
that was it we used 1 mil of Juvederm volift boom in and out very
straightforward let's have a look at him afterwards didn't touch the lower lip at
all just the upper kind of interesting isn't it because that's actually 1 mil
of filler that we've just put in the upper lip so this is why it's so
variable how much you need to put in people say oh I'm really nervous about
putting in a meal is it gonna change the way that I look too much etc well the
answer is it kind of depends what your starting point is because it depends on
the santé change if you have a tiny very
very skinny lip to begin with if you put in a million of course it's gonna look a
lot bigger than if somebody's got a really full pair of lips and what's also
really important is the ratio between the upper and lower lip as well so with
him we had plenty of room to play with the ratio because his lower lip is so
full in comparison with the upper and there he is on smiling look at that
what a lovely pair of teeth he's got a next up another young lady very very
straightforward she just wanted to have the same but a bit bigger easy enough to
do if you note she does have a little discrepancy here in the cheek volume so
this side not quite as full as the other and that has an impact on the lip
position so this side of her lip is a wee bit lower and for this lady we did
some pretty standard lip filler again going into the Vermilion border of the
upper lip and the lower lip this is using Juvederm volift and I switched out
the needle to a 32 gauge needle and concentrated on the lower lip in the
central 3rd this is 1.5 mils in total and voila here we have the final results
same shape bit more fullness change the ratio slightly I'd say she was more not
exactly 50/50 maybe more 40 60 now quick look at her smiling there we are we've
got a little bit more upper lip show okay guys that's it for this week I hope
you enjoyed the video and that little injection there of extra lip filler join
me again next week where I've got a couple of likely lads in doing some
cheap fillers I'll see you then

Video of Chris Watts confessing to murder after failing lie detector - Duration: 11:58.This is the chilling moment family killer Chris Watts confesses to murdering his wife
The Weld County District Attorney's office has released hours of interview footage in the case, including the moment he was told he had failed a polygraph test
Video of the moment reveals that Watts managed to keep his composure after he was very bluntly told by a member of the Colorado Bureau of Investigations that his answers were not truthful
That agent then began the process of trying to draw a confession of out of Watts, who after talking for some time eventually shut down the interview and demanded to see his father
Watts then confessed to killing Shanann to his dad Ronnie, who stayed in the interrogation room as the two agents returned and rubbed his son's back while he told them he had murdered his wife
At that time, Watts denied killing daughters Bella and Celeste, a crime he would not admit to until entering his plea deal at the Weld County Courthouse more then two months after the senseless murders
'It is completely clear that you were not honest during the testing,' agent Tammy Lee tells Watts in the video
'And I think you already know that. You did not pass the polygraph test.'Prior that that Agent Lee was seen with Watts in a video discussing his family and relationship with wife Shanann, whom he spoke about in the past tense despite her body having not be discovered at that time
'It honestly just makes me sick to my stomach because this is something that I would never do,' said Watts the day before the polygraph
'There's no way I would harm anybody in my family at all. I am telling you the absolute truth
'After being told he had failed the text, Watts at first replied 'OK,' before adding: 'I didn't…I didn't lie to you on that polygraph…I promise

'If I could have my babies back home right now, I would…I want them back…I want everybody back…that is the God's honest truth,' said Watts
He then revealed that he had cheated on Shanann, a fact that investigators had already been alerted to by a superior at his workplace, who was in the process of sending authorities emails between Watts and Nichol Kessinger
Agents then tried a different approach, pointing out that Watts' father had flown across the country to be with him and was in the lobby
Watts was then asked if he really wanted to lie to his father. This tactic proved to work, and soon Watts was requesting that he be able to speak to his father
Agents then informed Ronnie that he would be recorded and filmed if he went into the room with his son, which he acknowledged at the time
Ronnie was not prepared however to hear what he did, with Watts soon telling his father that he killed Shanann
'Oh my God,' says Ronnie, dropping his head into his hands.'She hurt them,' Watts told his father
'And then I killed her.'Watts then told agents a similar story, claiming that Shanann choked the girls to death and he killed her after witnessing the act
'The evil that I saw when I walked behind Shanann when she was [choking daughter Celeste],' said Watts
'I didn't know what to do. I didn't know what to (expletive) do. None of this made sense!'That too turned out to be a lie
In the lead up to the tragic murders, Watts had taken his daughters to a birthday party on the afternoon of Sunday, August 12
While Bella and Celeste played in the pool, their father started texting co-worker Kodi Roberts
At 5.06pm that evening, Watts set in motion his plan for disposing of his wife and daughters' bodies
He texted Roberts that he would be making the drive out to one of the more distant oil fields that was managed by his company, Anadarko Petroleum Corporation, the following day
It is the same location where the bodies of his family members were discovered.Watts, per his own admission in interviews with law enforcement officials, then took his daughters home, gave them both showers, fed them pizza and got them each a snack before putting them to bed
He noted that both girls were eager to see their mother, who was due to return home later that night
Shanann's father was one of the last people to see the girls, revealing he spoke to them on FaceTime on Sunday evening
Frank Rzucek stated in an interview with police that he spoke with both Watts and Bella, who was eating cold pizza and candy
He made no mention of seeing Celeste.Watts claimed that he put the girls down before 8pm and that Bella woke up twice, running out to ask when her mom would be returning home
He admitted to assuring his daughter that she would see her mother in the morning
A babysitter, who was the sister of the birthday boy whose party Watts and the girls attended that Sunday, also spoke with an agent with the Colorado Bureau of Investigation
She said that Saturday Watts had asked her to mind the children while he attended a Rockies game
It was later revealed that he was actually on a date with his mistress, Nichol Kessinger
The babysitter said that while watching the girls, Shannan called at 7.50pm to check on the children while she was away and later posted a photo
Watts set up the babysitter the night before by texting her father, stating: 'Do you think McKenna is available to watch the girls for a few hours tomorrow night? I won a raffle at work for a Rockies game
lt's with people I don't know from work, but I haven't been to a game in a while where the kids aren't involved and only last an inning lol
'The babysitter did have a different version of events as to what happened the following day though, saying that Watts left the party much earlier than he told authorities
Watts has been sentenced to life in prison for of slaying his pregnant wife Shanann along with their two daughters Bella, four, and Celeste, three, and their unborn son Nico
He pleaded guilty to killing his family on the night of August 12 in their in Frederick, Colorado home
Watts then dumped their bodies in oil he had access to at the company he worked for
