Adversity Motivation Video - How Life Makes You Stronger - Duration: 2:58.
G'day it's Rowan here from Your Life Designed. Now I flipped my quote book
that we've got on the kitchen bench just the other day and I read this quote
and I though yeah you know what, I don't really see it. It's not me. Anyway I
got home later that night and I re-read the quote I thought you know what that's
actually really, really good. The quote is "we acquire the strength we have overcome"
"we acquire the strength we have overcome" by Ralph Waldo Emerson. It got me
thinking okay when has been a challenge in my life and what is the
strength that I've had to muster up to overcome that challenge. This quote very
much suggests that to overcome a challenge, there's some sort of
strength or force or power that is needed so I'm sure when you've had to
overcome some sort of challenge in your life you've had to muster up the
strength to leave or the strength to say goodbye the strength to
take action the strength to not quit or the strength to quit the strength to
lead and the strength to take a risk the strength to forgive the strength to
stand up and speak and say what you need to say or the strength to shut up and
listen. Or maybe it was the strength to overcome your fears, your fears of
rejection your fears of failure your fears of judgement. Whatever it is,
whatever it was, that is a strength that you have had to muster up in
yourself. Think of it like climbing a brick wall you've got this brick wall
you can see the top of that brick wall and with time and with strength you're
pulling yourself up bit by bit as I said you've got time on your side and you've
got strength on your side. Just like Andy Dufresne from Shawshank Redemption if
you've seen that movie. He's got that tiny little pickaxe and he's scraping
his initials into the wall when all of a sudden a bit of wall chips off and he
said from that point forward if he knew that he just needed time and pressure in
just the same way to overcome your challenge you just need time and
strength. So you're getting closer to the top of this wall but you can feel the
gravity I suppose the gravity of your uncertainties and the gravity of your
fears and insecurities pulling you back down but with time and with strength you
get up you get up to the top of this wall and
that strength that you have had to exert to get up to the top, that strength that
you've had to give you also receive. You acquire that strength and that is a
strength that you now have you carry forward and no one can take that
strength for you. That is the beautiful thing about overcoming a challenge of
getting out of your comfort zone, you have that strength you acquire that
strength. As the quote says "we acquire the strength we have overcome". Hope you
got something out of that, if so please Like, Comment, Follow, Subscribe so I do

NSHS Mu Alpha Theta Quadratics Video - Duration: 8:36.
Hi everyone!
In this video, I will be talking about the different equations of a quadratic and the
many ways you can solve them algebraically.
There are two main forms of a quadratic: standard form and vertex form.
The standard form of a quadratic is expressed as y=ax^2+bx+c.
The variable a in the equation represents how much a quadratic is being stretched out
or is shrinking.
If the value of a is greater than one, then the quadratic will "shrink" and become
narrower; while if the value of a is in between one and zero, the quadratic will widen
and "stretch out".
The value of a cannot be equal to zero, as it would then become a linear function, but
it can be negative.
If it is negative, the quadratic will be reflected over the x-axis and will be concave down.
The variable c in the standard form equation represents the y-intercept of a quadratic,
or the value of y when x is equal to zero.
If the equation of a quadratic is y=x^2+5x-7, for example, then the value of c is -7, which
means that y equals -7 when x equals zero.
The value of c can be zero, or any positive or negative real number.
Now let's talk about the vertex form of a quadratic.
The equation is y=a(x-h)^2+k.
The variable a in this equation is the same as in standard form, but what do h and k mean?
A quadratic has a vertex, or a point where you can see its relative minimum or maximum
value.
Its vertex is expressed using the coordinate (h,k), where h represents the x-value and
k represents the y-value.
With vertex form, you need to be careful when h is negative.
For example, if we need to express a quadratic that has an a value equal to one, and a vertex
of (-2, -3) in vertex form, it would be y=(x+2)^2-3.
Now, you may be wondering why the 2 is positive in the parentheses, but let's take a closer
look at the general equation for vertex form, or y=a(x-h)^2+k.
If we substitute -1 in for h into this equation, we get y=a(x-(-1))^2+k, which can simplify
to y=a(x+1)^2+k.
So, when you're expressing a quadratic that has a negative h value, don't forget to
change the sign inside the parentheses!
Since we have gone over the two forms of a quadratic, let's begin to solve some!
We have the equation, y=2x^2+12x+10, and we want to solve for x by factoring.
We can start by setting the value of y equal to zero because we want to see where the quadratic
intersects with the x-axis.
Before we factor, we can see how the value of a, b, and c are all divisible by 2, so
we can divide both sides by 2 to get x^2+6x+5=0.
Now, with factoring, we want to see what adds to the b-value and multiplies to the c-value,
so what adds to 6 and multiplies to 5?
If we look at the factors of 5, we can see how 1+5=6, and 1*5=5, so 1 and 5 are the common
factors.
We can factor the equation, x^2+5x+6=0 into (x+5)(x+1)=0, and we can solve for x.
Let's set each expression equal to zero and see what we get!
If we set x+5=0 and subtract 5 from both sides, we get x=-5.
For the second expression, if we set x+1=0 and solve, we get x=-1.
So, our answer would be x=-1 and x=-5.
Now, let's talk about another method to solve quadratics: the bridge method.
This is typically used when a is greater than one, and there is nothing you can divide the
equation by before factoring.
We are going to solve the equation, y=3x^2-7x+4.
We can start by setting y equal to zero, and we can see how nothing is common between the
a, b, and c values, so we need to factor.
In this method, we draw an "X", write the product of a and c on top and the value
of b on the bottom, and see what multiplies to ac and adds to b.
For this case, we need to see what multiplies to 12 and adds to -7.
The factors of 12 are 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, and 12, and we can see how -3-4=-7, and -3*-4=12.
Therefore, the common factors are -3 and -4, so we can rewrite the equation as 3x^2-3x-4x+4=0.
Now, we can look at each part of the equation separately and see what each one has in common.
3x is common with 3x^2 and -3x, so we can factor out 3x and be left with x-1.
In the other part, -4 is common with -4x and 4, so we can factor out -4 to also be left
with x-1.
Since the two parts have x-1 in common, we can factor 3x(x-1)-4(x-1) into (x-1)(3x-4)=0
and we are able to solve for x.
By setting each expression equal to 0 and solving, we get x=1, and x=4/3.
We are going to try to solve this equation, -2x^2-12x-9=0, using our third method, completing
the square.
With this problem, you want to try to form a perfect square trinomial, or a trinomial
that can be factored into a binomial multiplied by itself, like (a+b)^2.
We can start by dividing both sides by -2 to ensure we have a positive a value, so we
get x^2+6x+9/2=0.
We then subtract 9/2 from both sides, and now we focus on the left side.
How do we form a perfect square trinomial from x^2+6x?
We take the half the middle value, or the b-value, and square it to get the new c-value
on the left side.
So, for this case, we would divide 6 by 2 and square it to get 9.
We want to make sure both sides of the equation are balanced, so just add 9 to the right side
and we are left with x^2+6x+9=9/2.
Now we have something to work with!
We can factor x^2+6x+9 into (x+3)^2, and take the square root of both sides to get x+3=±3/√2.
Whenever you do these problems and need to take the square root of both sides, you should
have the ± sign there since a quadratic intersects the x-axis twice and you will have two different
answers.
Now, to get our final answer, we subtract 3 from both sides to get x=-3±3/√2..
Our final method is the quadratic formula.
The quadratic formula is x=(-b±√(b^2-4ac))/2a, where a, b, and c represent the parts of a
quadratic in standard form.
If we had the equation, 4x^2-6x+1=0 and we wanted to solve it, there's absolutely no
way we can factor it, and completing the square would take a long time to do, so we need to
resort to the quadratic formula.
In this case, a=4, b=-6, and c=1.
Let's substitute these values into the quadratic formula and see what we get!
We have x=(6±√((-6)^2-4(4)(1)))/(2(4)), and we can simplify the radical and the denominator
to get x=(6±√20)/8.
Now, before you box this as your answer, we want to simplify this as much as possible,
and we can simplify the radical even further.
If we take a closer look at √20, we can expand it into √4 and √5, and since 4
is a perfect square, √20 can be simplified to 2√5.
As a result, our answer would be x=(6±2√5)/8, which can then be reduced to x=(3±√5)/4.

Reflections on Prayer 6: What We Ignore (solo video) - Duration: 21:20.
Welcome back to Reflections on Prayer. In the last video we addressed the problem of disappointment
that comes from unanswered prayer and we talked about how we might better
pray in faith by expecting the things God always promises and trusting in God's ability
to accomplish a task when he is willing for everything else.
We are going to take a sharp turn in our last three videos by looking into how God speaks.
Technically, God's speech isn't considered an act of prayer in the Bible.
To pray simply means to petition God.
But we use that word prayer in a bigger way today, and the question of how God speaks
to us today is one that we are just as interested in.
The Bible is loaded with stories of people hearing God speak,
and God chose to speak a variety of ways in the Bible.
Unfortunately, we don't find as many specific directions about hearing God's voice today.
The disciples asked Jesus how to pray and Luke and Matthew both recorded those words for us.
But if the disciples ever asked Jesus how he listened to the Father,
wouldn't it have been nice to have that written down for us too?
Did God speak to Jesus audibly?
Did he hear a quiet whisper in his mind? Was Jesus carrying his favorite Old Testament scrolls up with
him every time he spent time alone?
When Jesus was led by the Spirit to go into the wilderness
- what was that like for him? Was it an emotional tug?
Was it just a thought he couldn't get out of his mind?
We just don't know. And that's the big challenge of this next subject
- listening to God speak.
God does not spell things out explicitly.
This has left an opening for a lot of Christian gurus to fill in the gaps.
But God also put boundaries on this practice (and for good reasons as we'll see).
So as we go on this journey to consider how
God spoke and how he speaks to us today, I want to acknowledge that some of my conclusions
will rely more on patterns I see in the Scripture instead of direct statements.
I invite you to think about the Scriptures for yourself and draw your own conclusions as well.
Feel free to disagree.
But to the best of your ability, base your thinking off what the Bible says
instead of what you read from some book or have experienced personally.
Experience is important in our Christian faith, but by itself it can be misleading.
But before we begin, I want to acknowledge the elephant in the room.
There are groups of Christians that believe that God stopped
speaking after the apostles died out and the Bible was completed
because there was no need for God to share anything else.
Then there are groups of Christians who can't decide
whether they should have beans or rice for supper without getting a decision from God.
And there is every position in between.
First Thessalonians 5:19-22 is a great verse to begin with
because it validates experience without abandoning reason. Paul says,
We quench the spirit when we treat prophecies with contempt.
But we open ourselves to evil when we do not examine them.
Our last three sessions will explore this topic assuming some sense of balance.
On November 3, 1948 the Chicago Daily Tribune posted the following headline:
"Dewey Defeats Truman." But that wasn't the case.
In fact, it was Harry S. Truman who defeated his challenger Dewey to win the election for
President of the United States that year. And the photo of Truman holding up that infamous
front page of the Chicago Daily Tribune has gone down in history.
You know newspapers publish retractions all the time,
but to miss something that big in 1948 when the news was slower was something
of an anomaly. Today, the news goes faster. There is less and less oversight.
The lines between opinion and fact have blurred. And it has created the expression "false news."
The danger of false news in the information age is that people will use others for ill
gain and we can be easily duped into making poor decisions.
A life can be destroyed by a false rape allegation. A person can die by adopting some ill-researched health practice.
The same is true for our spiritual lives.
We are bombarded with a thousand voices – voices that don't have our best interests at heart.
We want to hear God's voice in the midst of a thousand deceitful ones
so that we can experience his love, his leading and know life to the fullest.
How can we know that it's God speaking and not someone else?
The Bible identifies three deceitful voices and teaches us how to respond to each.
The first voice that seeks to destroy us is the fallen angel we know as the devil.
Read John 8:44, 2 Corinthians 11:14 and 2 Corinthians 11:3.
How does the Bible describe the devil in these verses?
The devil is "the father of lies" in John 8:44 who "disguises himself as an angel
of light" in 2 Corinthians 11:14. He "leads us astray from the simplicity and purity of
devotion to Christ" in 2 Corinthians 11:3. And he is a schemer in Ephesians 6:11 who
deceives the whole world in Revelation 20:3.
That he's called the "father of lies" in John 8:44 suggests not only that he is the best of all liars but that he is the source
of all lies too.
The devil enlists false teachers and false prophets to multiply his efforts.
In Mark 13:22 Jesus predicted that false prophets would "arise" and "show signs and wonders,
in order to lead astray, if possible, the elect."
In Matthew 7:15 he cautioned against "false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing,
but inwardly are ravenous wolves."
And Peter reminded his listeners that just as false prophets arose in the past, "there
will also be false teachers among" his readers "who…secretly introduce destructive heresies"
in 2 Peter 2:1-3.
The devil enlists other fallen angels to do his work too. Those fallen angels, otherwise
known as demons, are forces behind practices that the Bible prohibits. 0
Deuteronomy 18:1 says, "There must never be found among you anyone who... practices divination, an omen reader
a soothsayer, a sorcerer, one who casts spells, one who conjures up spirits,
a practitioner of the occult, or a necromancer."
This long list of occult practices included
predicting future outcomes based on omens and signs, using magical words to manipulate
nature, spiritual beings or people and consulting the dead to determine a course of action.
Because of these practices the writer continues, "the Lord your God is about to drive
the people out of the land." And 2 Kings 17:17 confirms that this was indeed the reason that
he sent Israel into exile.
Jeremiah 14:14 suggests that some simply used these as tools
of manipulation when he called them out for their "worthless divination"
and "the deceit of their own minds." But at other times these forbidden practices boasted genuine
supernatural power like when Pharaoh's sorcerers mimicked Moses' miracles
or when witch the of Endor conjured up a ghost of Samuel for King Saul, an act that sealed Saul's judgment.
This is because demons were at work. We see this in Acts 16:16 when Paul and Silas cast
out a demon from a slave girl in Philippi who had a spirit of divination.
How do we respond to the lies of the devil?
We first must cut ourselves off from his normal channels of communication.
Paul gives his leaders directions to refute false teaching in Titus 1:9
and John tells his listeners to refuse to support them in any way in his second letter.
There are great scientific studies debunking the magic behind Ouija boards and the power of psychics.
So often these "tools of sorcery" are more like what Jeremiah says: a "worthless divination"
and "the deceit of their own minds."
But that doesn't mean the devil can't and doesn't use them.
Christians are less likely to expose themselves to these practices because
of their stigma, but many Christians casually look for signs and omens around them to be their guides:
"if this happens, then I'm probably supposed to do this."
There is a place for signs in the Bible. But signs don't guide. They confirm.
Other Christians ask for guidance from deceased relatives. Still others lean heavily on superstitions.
The 21st century might be post-Christian. Yet in spite of modernity, the 21st century
is not post-supernatural.
Identify the illicit tricks you use to get divine information or help and cut them off.
But that's not enough.
The Apostle Paul reminds us that the devil disguises himself
as an angel of light, so the devil may even use legitimate channels of communication.
Read 1 Peter 5:8-9 and James 4:7. devil's
How do these writers tell us to respond to the devil's works?
Cutting off the devil's normal channels of communication will help, but he always looks for another way around.
This requires a healthy knowledge of Scripture.
Jesus stood his ground three times against the devil by citing Scripture in Luke 4.
After each temptation, Jesus responded by quoting a relevant portion of the Bible. But after
the second temptation, the devil does something different.
After telling Jesus to jump from a high point of the temple,
he quotes the Bible himself saying,
"He will command his angels concerning you to guard you carefully; they will lift you up in their hands so that
you will not strike your foot against stone."
The devil has figured out Jesus' game.
And he is familiar with Scripture too. So his last and biggest move is to appeal to truth
in order to deceive Jesus.
But Jesus doubles down with more Scripture: "It is said:
'Do not put the Lord your God to the test.'" The devil knew enough Scripture to be dangerous.
Unfortunately, sometimes we only know enough to be a danger to ourselves. able
Jesus was to resist because he had a firm grasp on the Word of God.
This is an important point, so I want to reflect on it a bit.
From a young age Jesus committed himself to mastering the Bible. In Luke 2:46
we get our only story with Jesus as a young boy where his parents find him "in the temple courts,
sitting among the teachers, listening to them and asking them questions."
When the Son of God took on flesh, he humbled himself and had to learn and grow just like us.
If we had been in Jesus' place at the moment of his third temptation, how would we have responded?
For so many of us who understand God and the Bible in bits and pieces, it might
have been easy for the devil to dupe us.
"God loves you. He'll forgive you," he might have said.
"All of your sins have been paid for. Certainly this little thing won't hurt."
Maybe he would have said, "God knows you are going to sin anyway. It's not like this
will surprise him."
Each of these statements carries at least a little truth.
Satan is a master deceiver. If we're not going to fall for half-truths,
we need to commit ourselves to mastering the whole truth like Jesus did.
Our second deceitful voice is the world.
Ephesians 2:1-2 says, "As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, in which you
used to live when you followed the ways of this world…"
What can we learn about the ways of the world from the following verses:
Romans 12:2 and 1 Corinthians 1:20-29?
In Romans 12:2 the pattern of the world is a way of thinking contrary to what pleases God.
Paul doesn't give us a definition of "the pattern of this world" here, but
he contrasts it with the renewing of the mind and one's ability to discern what pleases God.
In 1 Corinthians 1:21 Paul says, "…in
the wisdom of God, the world through its wisdom did not know him…"
In other words, God in his wisdom made knowledge about himself inaccessible to people who relied on
human logic.
The reason for this is in verse 29: "so that no one may boast before him."
God prevented human reason from knowing him so that he could remove any pride from any knowledge
about him.
How do these two ideas come together?
The world is a system of human thinking that is
contrary to what pleases God which produces a kind of wisdom that is incapable of knowing God.
It's easy to see this all around us. The biggest influencers in our society either
outright reject the idea of God today or they serve up something more morally palatable in their minds -
something a little less threatening.
Christianity has little place in public thought,
and when it does, it's a softened form that is almost unrecognizable.
But before we assign blame, it's important to remember how counterintuitive Christian thought is in the first place.
Psychology,
sociology, philosophy, history—all the social sciences have some benefit.
But these are very limited in their ability to inform us about God, his plan and his desires for us
because God chose to reveal himself in ways that were different than the human mind would expect.
Paul highlights the cross among those ways. The cross was a sign to Jews because
it predicted and pointed to their Messiah. But the Jews rejected it because it wasn't
the kind of power they were looking for.
The cross was wisdom to the nations because through
it all men could know righteousness and redemption.
But the nations rejected it because such things
were beneath them.
It might seem old fashioned to say "it is written" like Jesus did or to ask people,
"Where does it say that in the Bible?" when they make a claim about God.
But every religious movement that seeks to keep Jesus and abandon the Bible at the same time either
evolves into a self portrait or dissolves altogether.
It's not that we have nothing to learn from the world.
The more that we learn about creation and the amazing ways
God set the universe in order, the more we should be moved toward praise as the psalmists were.
Paul himself admits that some of God's "invisible qualities - his eternal power
and divine nature - have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made,
so that people are without excuse" in Rom 1:20.
We knew he was all powerful. We knew he was worthy of praise.
But at the end of the day, his divine humility and love revealed
through the cross - and the only hope of mankind - could not been determined by nature or concluded
by great philosophers. He had to show that to us himself.
So we must respond to all that the world says about God, his plan and his desire for us
by filtering its claims with
what he himself has shown us.
Our final destructive voice hits a little closer to home.
It's what the Bible calls the cravings of the flesh in Ephesians 2:3
and refers to our own evil thoughts and desires within us.
James reminds us that "each person is tempted
when they are dragged away by their own evil desire and enticed" in James 1:14.
There is a powerful force within that tugs at us to gratify personal pleasures
that are apart from God's perfect plan for wholeness in our lives,
and the only way out
is to walk by the Spirit.
Galatians 5:16 says, "So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will
not gratify the desires of the flesh."
So to muffle the noise of the flesh we must magnify
the voice of the Spirit.
Have you ever been to a concert where the
music is loud and you can't hear what your friend is trying to yell at you?
Or have you ever been to a church with a lot of people crammed into a small foyer with poor acoustics?
We live in a world with millions of voices, but only one is true.
To find the right one, we must cut off the devil's channels of communication, resist him with a firm grasp on scripture,
filter the claims of the world and magnify the Spirit's voice over the flesh.
See you in the next video.

🎬6 Tips for DIRECTING COMMERCIALS (NOT SELLING OUT) 🎥| Gabe.Video - Duration: 8:21.
hey guys today we're gonna talk about why every filmmaker should make
commercials. let's do it. All right I want to start off right off the bat with saying
directing commercials or branded content or marketing videos or any level of that
is absolutely not selling out some of the best directors today like Ridley
Scott and David Fincher directed hundreds of commercials before they even
did a feature film it's one of the best ways to practice making films on a
shorter scale on a shorter timeline probably a shorter budget but on
somebody else's donning it keeps you sharp and lets you continuously practice
your skills try different looks feels and really lets you improve your game as
you go nowadays there's so many different types of content being created
beyond the traditional TV spot like branded videos and social advertisements
that there's so many opportunities for you to go and practice and actually make
some money you don't need to be a starving artist I like to do every type
of content that I get my hands on especially for money another thing is
you get to practice walking with clients and with others coming from somebody
that's worked a lot in branded entertainment
it's so nice actually to go back to traditional entertainment when you're
not working with the brand because you're just working with entertainment
and people that are worried about story and date off the tie back to a brand
messaging but knowing all that really helps you become a better filmmaker
because you know that the film isn't just about the film you know sometimes
they say a rose is a rose is a rose a film isn't just a fella film is a film
or video is a marketing tool a film or a video is a story a film or a video is a
place to launch a product sometimes it is a product so knowing how to go and
shoot and sell products will actually help you with the marketing of your film
so here are some mistakes to avoid when you go into your first few commercial
productions number one this is not your film so don't be a prima donna when
you're making a commercial or a branded piece you're making it for the brand and
you're telling their story so you have to be very cognizant that you are the
hired on storyteller I need to work with them obviously you
should know more about the production about the creator than anybody else but
you should also be open and listen so there's many times where I've
convinced clients that you know an idea is actually a good idea they maybe don't
believe me until they see it and then they love me or vice versa where I've
gotten so wrapped into like my idea that it really wasn't what the brand wanted
to do with their product at that point so just don't be a prima donna be a team
player and work together number two don't work for free even if this is your
first gig and this is something that you need for your real even if you just take
a hundred dollar seek some sort of money for your time even if it Nets out to one
to two dollars an hour trust me I've done that before you need to make sure
that others see that you are bringing the value so what I usually do even if
I'm doing a freebie for a friend or you know a much lower rate than I would
normally take is I give them the invoice for the entire amount so let's say for
video you're gonna charge five thousand dollars or you normally would charge
five thousand dollars but you need to do this and you're gonna charge somebody a
hundred dollars so I I would write out an invoice for five thousand dollars and
then I'd give them a discount of forty nine hundred dollars so net out they
owed one hundred dollars this is a psychological trick it's showing
somebody in paper form what they're getting and the deal that you get up
even if you are a beginner taking a deferred payment is fine a different
payment is paying after the fact or maybe it's a startup and they're waiting
for the money and their funding to come in that's fine but having writing
exactly what that payment is and when you're supposed to receive it I don't
usually work on deferments anymore because I don't like to work generally
with startups because they usually change directions on products but you
know what it happens there's good deals there's friends that I want to work with
so I usually have it either an email or somewhere in writing that says these are
the stipulations this is what I'm gonna get paid this is how much and sometimes
you know maybe the startup will fold or people will try to back out of your deal
once you deliver them the video and then you have it in writing and then at that
point you can be actionable with the invoice with the emails and
portrayal that you have number three don't let a client push you around now
this doesn't mean talk back to the client or think that the client is wrong
but usually when somebody's paying you money they want the most out of it they
can get and a lot of people really don't understand how production works so it's
up to you to teach them the ins and outs of production you have to sit down with
them every day and teach them but you need to tell them what's in scope what's
out of scope why things are gonna cost more money if they cost more money you
need to tell them that there are changes in their decisions go against what you
originally set out on the work that you're doing I usually set out with this
scope when usually start with an idea and one things start to change you know
sometimes things change with brands in the middle of production I told them it
is not clearly in scope and it's gonna cost you more money but here's three
four or five other solutions that we can do to kind of hit those goals or you
know here's some guidelines that we already have with the production setup
that we can work within to try to achieve what you're you're gonna achieve
number four don't let a client keep moving the timeline on you this happens
with almost every production without with almost every branded client that I
take on it's always delay layer later and later and later usually that engage
your time and they don't really count that what I do is I tell people we're
sticking to this timeline and there will be additional fees if it's moved to a
later date for reasons that we can control if it's my fault or if it makes
sense for the production to move a couple days that's fine but if you get
up you gear up you're ready to go you've already paid but you've already hired a
crew and then it brings in and says well we want to push this a month then you
should have some sort of exit clause in your contract or some sort of agreement
that okay but because of this work in these cancellation fees you guys will
have to pay X and that's pretty standard now you know I know some people some
people don't do that because they don't want to solely a relationship but in the
professional world people are working for me we have a machine up and going
and if anybody that's outside of my realm derails that they're going to need
to pay it and you know read the consequences of
that number five even if the creative is bad don't half-ass your commercial
production yes it may be selling something that you don't like if it's
something against your morals then don't take the job that's just up to you but
no matter how silly the product is no matter whether you believe in the
product or the direction of it or the client keeps changing the direction if
you take on the project you need to do your absolute best and not half-ass it
okay number six my last piece of advice be as professional as possible maybe
this is your first paid job and you don't really know everything in your
little nervous but I kid you not if you act as professional as the people you're
working with and for even if there's something you don't know and if you own
up to the things that maybe you don't know I don't think everybody expects
everybody down and everything but if you can own your choices and own the
direction of the project and let's say a client says they want to come in and
they want to do like an aerial shoot and you should we do a drone by a drone
should we you know get a plane and you actually don't know that question just
say I need a day let me look it up and I'll get back to you with that and what
the changes in the budget would be honesty is the best way in those
situations now you don't want to play idiot and you don't want to play dumb
because you are supposed to be the expert in this field but if you're as
professional as possible and be a team player it'll work for you in the long
run thanks so much for watching this video guys I hope it provided some value
