Computer Therapy: Embedding a video in PowerPoint (Ep. 30) - Duration: 3:02.

When you have different forms of content to display while presenting, it can be difficult

to switch between them flawlessly, especially when you are moving between a PowerPoint presentation

and video content.

On this episode of Computer Therapy, we're going to show you how to embed a video into

your PowerPoint which will help make this task run smoother.

Doing this will allow you to seamlessly move from slide to slide.

Let's get started.

First, head to your PowerPoint presentation and create a new slide where you want to insert

a video.

From here, head to the insert tab above the toolbar.

Go to the media section on the right hand side of the screen and click on the drop down

menu labelled "video".

Two choices should appear.

One is online video, while the other is video on my PC.

If you want to upload a video from online such as a YouTube video, click on "online

video" and a new window should appear.

Here you can either search YouTube for the video you want to add, or copy and paste the

embed code from the video into the field provided.

Once you have selected your video, press the insert button and your video should appear

on the PowerPoint slide.

Now that we have the video on PowerPoint, let's show you how to automatically play

the video without having to click on the thumbnail.

Head to the Video Tools tab located on the top-right of the screen and click on "Playback."

Under Video Options, locate the drop down menu labelled start and click on the drop

down arrow.

Click on "Automatically" and now your video will play automatically when you go

to the slide during your PowerPoint presentation.

Let's go ahead and show you the finish result with the video automatically playing.

So you can see how seamless that was and can now be able to create organized presentations

without having to switch tabs in order to show videos.
