Hey! Hello.
I want to tell you a funny story that happen on our honeymoon.
We went to Maui, one island in Hawaii.
When we got married,
our finances, became OUR finances.
So his money became my money
and my money became his money.
One day while we were in hawaii,
our hotel offers a variety of outdoor adventures.
You can take a helecopiter ride,
You can ride ATV's
Etc, there are so many options to pick!
We decided to go to the first floor and speak
with the consierge and ask some questions
to firgure out what we wanted to do that day.
There were so many options, we were a bit
overwhelmed and didn't know what to pick.
The woman was so sweet.
I was so excited thinking about our next fun adventure.
I really liked the idea of taking a helicopter ride.
I thought it'd be so cool to see the whole island
and where they filmed different movies.
I like ATV's or ziplining, but wanted the helicopter ride.
We could also rent jet skis or snorkel.
But I'd love to ride in a helicopter.
It seems like its be an amazing experience.
She told us that since we are making a same day
reservation that you cannot cancel it.
Once you've made the reservation there is no refund.
This is because it is a same day reservation.
If would have been different if we booked it in advance.
So we took a moment to talk to see that's what we wanted to do.
I wanted to make sure he would be okay, since it was a lot of money.
Well that's because it cost about $500 for the two of us.
That's a lot of money.
Is it worth it?
He obsesses about this stuff.
I'm very frugal and careful with our money.
At that time we were both still college students.
We were just starting our life together.
I don't spend a lot of money, but I am more willing to spend it.
I noticed that Zach still seemed unsure about it.
So I asked her if she can wait a few more minutes
while him and I talk more about it.
I wanted to make sure he was really okay with the cost.
I still felt unsure...
Right, but then you agreed.
We told her yes and signed all the paperwork
Everything was good to go for that day at 1pm.
I don't remember the exact time but we were all set.
Then, we went back to our hotel room...
Then it hit me, I started to think, what have I done?!
We just sepnt $500 for an hour?! C: It's worth it!
Our $500 is just GONE.
I noticed he was not happy at all...He just sat there.
Right! I kept thinking we could've used that $500 for another trip.
It could be a local trip or even a flight ticket somewhere.
Ya, I noticed he wasn't happy, I knew exactly what was wrong.
I wanted to cancel...
I was shocked. She just told us, "You can't canel."
I feel like there is always a way, everything is possible, no matter what.
We started to argue back and forth.
He asked me if I would go downstairs with him
to see if we could cancel.
I REFUSED. I started to feel so angry towards him.
I just wanted to enjoy our honeymoon.
STOP OBSESSING ABOUT MONEY!
But $500 is crazy!
So I told him he'd have to go down alone.
So I went down to the first floor to the woman who helped us.
I sat there as we started to write back and forth.
I told her that I wanted to cancel and she just had this look on her face.
She said, "I already told you, you can't cancel..."
BUT I STILL WANTED TO CANCEL.
He always try's to find a way around things.
But she told us, "You cannot cancel." Period.
It was funny because I am in our room feeling frustrated
I'm trying to be patient with Zach
Then the hotel phone rings.
I answered saying hello and it was the woman Zach was talking with.
She said, "So, your husband is here with me now,
we are writing back and forth, he said you both want to canel.
I said, "No, he wants to cancel, I want to keep it!
I already told him as well that we cannot cancel.
He is so stubborn and wanted to try. I said he could try.
She responded saying, "Well, I already told you
that you can't cancel."
I told her that I know and to tell him to come back up.
I still think it's so funny that she called me.
Then that same day as we were driving there,
I could see that he was trying to be happy.
He was definitely still struggling and not happy.
That's just his character, but I know he will grow.
We are still going since we couldn't cancel. YAY!!! I win.
Once we arrived, they had a short tutorial for us.
It explained what to do if an emergency occured.
It also explained where we will sit.
I was sitting there hoping he would enjoy himself.
After that we went outside, on the runway,
got in the helicopter and put our headphones on.
Then we started to take off. It was like nothing I've ever felt before.
I'm so happy, we are finally here in the helicopter!
It was so cool! I was so happy we went.
It was so funny, within like 5 min of taking off
We both look at each other and he says, "WOW!
This is amazing! Oh my gosh!
I am so happy we did this!"
Really the ride around the island was...C:Worth it?
YES!
We saw so many beautiful waterfalls.
We saw a part where they filmed Jurassic Park.
In another spot we saw about five waterfalls.
The waterfalls were huge. It was so mesmerizing and beautiful.
Are you happy we paid? Was it worth it?
YES!
OH! I want to add something!
After the helicopter tour, on our way home
on the side of the road we saw fields of sugar canes.
We thought it would be cool to pull over and take a look.
The sun was setting and we started making our way to the sugar canes.
It was cool to see all of them.
As we were walking back to the car,
the sun had set perfectly and shined on the grass/weeds.
All of a sudden we were able to see webs with huge spiders on them.
There were so many of them.
We realized we couldn't get back to the car.
Not only that but I started to freak out because we just
walked through all of them!
Is there any in my hair?! I FREAKED OUT!
So funny.
So then we are trying to figure out
how to get back to the car.
THESE WERE EVERYWHERE.
So we are lifting up our legs, going over and under everything.
Then once we went through, I am checking my hair and clothes
to make sure there are none are me.
Fun but terrifying.
