Waching daily Mar 5 2018

Hey! Hello.

I want to tell you a funny story that happen on our honeymoon.

We went to Maui, one island in Hawaii.

When we got married,

our finances, became OUR finances.

So his money became my money

and my money became his money.

One day while we were in hawaii,

our hotel offers a variety of outdoor adventures.

You can take a helecopiter ride,

You can ride ATV's

Etc, there are so many options to pick!

We decided to go to the first floor and speak

with the consierge and ask some questions

to firgure out what we wanted to do that day.

There were so many options, we were a bit

overwhelmed and didn't know what to pick.

The woman was so sweet.

I was so excited thinking about our next fun adventure.

I really liked the idea of taking a helicopter ride.

I thought it'd be so cool to see the whole island

and where they filmed different movies.

I like ATV's or ziplining, but wanted the helicopter ride.

We could also rent jet skis or snorkel.

But I'd love to ride in a helicopter.

It seems like its be an amazing experience.

She told us that since we are making a same day

reservation that you cannot cancel it.

Once you've made the reservation there is no refund.

This is because it is a same day reservation.

If would have been different if we booked it in advance.

So we took a moment to talk to see that's what we wanted to do.

I wanted to make sure he would be okay, since it was a lot of money.

Well that's because it cost about $500 for the two of us.

That's a lot of money.

Is it worth it?

He obsesses about this stuff.

I'm very frugal and careful with our money.

At that time we were both still college students.

We were just starting our life together.

I don't spend a lot of money, but I am more willing to spend it.

I noticed that Zach still seemed unsure about it.

So I asked her if she can wait a few more minutes

while him and I talk more about it.

I wanted to make sure he was really okay with the cost.

I still felt unsure...

Right, but then you agreed.

We told her yes and signed all the paperwork

Everything was good to go for that day at 1pm.

I don't remember the exact time but we were all set.

Then, we went back to our hotel room...

Then it hit me, I started to think, what have I done?!

We just sepnt $500 for an hour?! C: It's worth it!

Our $500 is just GONE.

I noticed he was not happy at all...He just sat there.

Right! I kept thinking we could've used that $500 for another trip.

It could be a local trip or even a flight ticket somewhere.

Ya, I noticed he wasn't happy, I knew exactly what was wrong.

I wanted to cancel...

I was shocked. She just told us, "You can't canel."

I feel like there is always a way, everything is possible, no matter what.

We started to argue back and forth.

He asked me if I would go downstairs with him

to see if we could cancel.

I REFUSED. I started to feel so angry towards him.

I just wanted to enjoy our honeymoon.

STOP OBSESSING ABOUT MONEY!

But $500 is crazy!

So I told him he'd have to go down alone.

So I went down to the first floor to the woman who helped us.

I sat there as we started to write back and forth.

I told her that I wanted to cancel and she just had this look on her face.

She said, "I already told you, you can't cancel..."

BUT I STILL WANTED TO CANCEL.

He always try's to find a way around things.

But she told us, "You cannot cancel." Period.

It was funny because I am in our room feeling frustrated

I'm trying to be patient with Zach

Then the hotel phone rings.

I answered saying hello and it was the woman Zach was talking with.

She said, "So, your husband is here with me now,

we are writing back and forth, he said you both want to canel.

I said, "No, he wants to cancel, I want to keep it!

I already told him as well that we cannot cancel.

He is so stubborn and wanted to try. I said he could try.

She responded saying, "Well, I already told you

that you can't cancel."

I told her that I know and to tell him to come back up.

I still think it's so funny that she called me.

Then that same day as we were driving there,

I could see that he was trying to be happy.

He was definitely still struggling and not happy.

That's just his character, but I know he will grow.

We are still going since we couldn't cancel. YAY!!! I win.

Once we arrived, they had a short tutorial for us.

It explained what to do if an emergency occured.

It also explained where we will sit.

I was sitting there hoping he would enjoy himself.

After that we went outside, on the runway,

got in the helicopter and put our headphones on.

Then we started to take off. It was like nothing I've ever felt before.

I'm so happy, we are finally here in the helicopter!

It was so cool! I was so happy we went.

It was so funny, within like 5 min of taking off

We both look at each other and he says, "WOW!

This is amazing! Oh my gosh!

I am so happy we did this!"

Really the ride around the island was...C:Worth it?

YES!

We saw so many beautiful waterfalls.

We saw a part where they filmed Jurassic Park.

In another spot we saw about five waterfalls.

The waterfalls were huge. It was so mesmerizing and beautiful.

Are you happy we paid? Was it worth it?

YES!

OH! I want to add something!

After the helicopter tour, on our way home

on the side of the road we saw fields of sugar canes.

We thought it would be cool to pull over and take a look.

The sun was setting and we started making our way to the sugar canes.

It was cool to see all of them.

As we were walking back to the car,

the sun had set perfectly and shined on the grass/weeds.

All of a sudden we were able to see webs with huge spiders on them.

There were so many of them.

We realized we couldn't get back to the car.

Not only that but I started to freak out because we just

walked through all of them!

Is there any in my hair?! I FREAKED OUT!

So funny.

So then we are trying to figure out

how to get back to the car.

THESE WERE EVERYWHERE.

So we are lifting up our legs, going over and under everything.

Then once we went through, I am checking my hair and clothes

to make sure there are none are me.

Fun but terrifying.

THUMBNAILS & CLICKBAIT ↩️ plus a sneak peek at making a video!!! - Duration: 7:28.

so today's subject is thumbnails and thumbnails are difficult to work with

but the video in question had some other complexities I want to just point out we

were missing the beginning which was tough so I had this edge weigh in at

some point and then we had to redo the ending there was a an ending where we

trailed off and there was some sort of an outtake so this is a tough video to

work with even though it's only two and a half minutes there were quite a few

edits involved and as you can see we had to piece it together to get some form of

cohesive video the one thing that's important to understand while you're

watching this is it's shot in 1080p at 60 frames per second and a lot of people

are going to say Oh 30 frames is fine and that's true 30 frames is perfectly

acceptable but 60 frames adds more intense intensity of the color it has

better contrast ratio in some cases not always and you'd get a smoother picture

it looks less blurry so 60 frames per second is tricky and a lot of people are

wondering if they should shoot at 60 frames per second it's not required but

it will give you an edge over your competition when your video shows up

it's going to say 1080 at 60 frames per second and most videos only say 1080 so

it does give you that extra little professional edge and it does make a

difference when you're doing makeup and beauty it's not required but it's just a

little bit of an edge so anyway let's get into the thumbnail discussion first

of all let's look at some of these thumbnails if you look at these some of

the older thumbnails we didn't have very many pictures to work with and you can't

take generally speaking you can't take new pictures of old videos unless you

happen to look the same have the same outfit otherwise it doesn't have the

continuity that you're going to need for a video thumbnails on Facebook are

completely different they don't have them in most cases

and with YouTube you can actually put in a thumbnail of your choice so this is a

very big opportunity and thumbnails on YouTube are some of the most important

aspects to the success of a channel they literally can determine whether you're

going to give millions of views or thousands of views or very little or no

use so when you have a good thumbnail you look posed but you still have that

intriguing natural look you don't want to look too posed because then it looks

boring so you want to have a facial expression you want to be doing

something that's intriguing or interesting to the people when they look

at the thumbnail that will make them want to click on it when the when these

were done this was the snot these are snapshots

taken from the videos themselves so if we had a video that was from face book

live we didn't have a lot of choices so we simply took the best image we could

find and added it as a thumbnail and then put some text over it so there

wasn't really a lot of choices and as summer was able to improve her quality

of video she was able to also improve her pictures that were available

she uh she took a still shot multiple times in some cases so that we could do

a multi-part thumbnail and a multiple image thumbnail three images or four

images or two images is more intriguing for certain subjects now I wouldn't do

all multi-part thumbnails and remember some types of playlists that you can

create on YouTube because you can have your subject matter or your categories

divided by your playlists sometimes it's really important to have a solid image

for one type of playlist and then like a before and after playlist or a nighttime

routine or a daytime makeup routine you would have a before and after thumbnail

style and then for clothing hauls shopping hauls product reviews maybe you

can do a three-part thumbnail and you can do a four-part thumbnail even and

some people do it just depends on how your branding is fitting in on your

thumbnail how the text is fitting in because quite honestly some nails get

very dizzy and if you make them too busy they're convoluted and your text it has

to stand out I constantly see thumbnails where there's no outlining on the actual

text see how there's black outlining on here in some cases gray what that does

is have the it has the text pop against white background so she had white text

an outline on a white picture it's just going to disappear into the picture

itself and you need the font or the text to be large you also have to make sure

that it's not too close to the bottom otherwise it runs into the little

statistics and demographics that are on YouTube and the last thing you have to

remember and among other things is there is a timer in the bottom right corner of

YouTube videos so if your text stretches all the way across your image along the

bottom it's going to run into that timer and that's going to obstruct the view of

the text so these are all the things you have to consider when you're starting to

do thumbnails the nice thing is for people that I'm working with all you

have to do is provide me as many images as you feel you want to put in your

thumbnail so if you do it for example a 3 image thumbnail just give me 3 images

and I'll do all the rest that's kind of the nice thing about having someone do

these things for you I just want to show you what the finished thumbnail ended up

looking like what we ended up doing is I took the background image that was

missing see how the top of her heads cut off that was actually the original

picture that I showed you earlier in the video and what we did is we did a

gradient and it turned out a lot better than I thought and we also enlarged this

font quite a bit and were able to drop it down as low as possible we can't go

any lower because if you look you can see that the red line it will start

touching the font and I think if you can see to see this thumbnail here you can

see that the gradient that I added to fill in the missing top it's pretty

subtle but it you can't see it really much at all so it turned out better than

I had hoped I made a decision to remove one of the image that was images that

was provided and put in a still I took this out of the video myself of the

pants because it was too much of the same pant it was basically this color

this one here and then it was so there was two of the same images basically and

then what we did is we just went with this a little different the pose of the

leg was something interesting so that's what we end up with and this gives you

an idea of what it takes to do a thumbnail it's very very important that

the photos you provide for a thumbnail work out otherwise the labor involved

with creating just a simple thumbnail you know nothing too tricky right but

it's surprising how tricky it actually actually is I ended up liking the white

border because it kind of looks like the pager of the actual pictures are

floating it gives some breakup of the thumbnail as you can see versus some of

the other thumbnails where doesn't look the same so anyway that's just how you

do a thumbnail I hope this is informative and best of luck

you
