Surveyors Career Video - Duration: 1:38.

Whether the project is measuring

the depth needed

for a skyscraper's foundation

or mapping backyard boundaries,

a surveyor steps in

to get the lay of the land.

Surveyors use sophisticated technology

to take precise measurements

of the Earth's surface for maps

and construction projects.

They prevent—or help to resolve—

boundary disputes for both home

and business owners

by documenting legal property lines,

and helping determine the exact locations

of real estate and building projects.

During construction,

surveyors determine the precise

location of roads or buildings

and proper depths

for building foundations.

They conduct research on land records

and titles to show changes

to a property line,

and report on restrictions,

such as the type and size of structures

that may be built on a property.

Most surveyors work for surveying

or engineering companies;

some work in construction

or for government offices.

Although surveyors spend time in offices,

fieldwork is essential,

and often involves standing

for extended periods

and walking long distances,

sometimes hauling heavy equipment,

in all kinds of weather.

Most work full time.

Surveyors typically need

a bachelor's degree in surveying,

or a related field.

A license is needed

to certify legal documents

and provide surveying services to the public.

In addition to passing the licensure exams,

surveyors generally need

several years' experience

working under a licensed surveyor

to obtain a license.

2018 St Pats Whiskey Tasting Introduction Video - Duration: 3:36.

Hi there William with Social Scene coming to you presenting St Pat's Whiskey Festival.

And what we are doing this year is we have provided a variety of different events for

St. Paddy's and we said, why not with whiskey?

We know that Irish Whiskey is a big fan fave on the holiday.

We are going to be bringing you a variety of whiskies in addition to Irish Whiskey.

We are going to be doing this in some cities the night before and a couple markets the

day of.

We are really excited about this experience where instead of certain shenanigans and festivities you are

normally use to, we are going to do something fun and a little different.

So if you are looking to change things up, we are providing a great experience.

We are going to bring out a variety of great whiskies.

Every admission comes with 15 tasting cups and you can purchase additional 15, where

100% of proceeds go to a charity.

We also donate a portion of our net proceeds always to a local charity.

You will be given a site map, where you can vote for the top brands, earning a chance

at free tickets and gifts; as well as showing where you can learn more about these brands.

We want you to engage with them even after the event.

As well as a fun giveaway.

And we feel that this giveaway is something that you will use even after the event is

over with.

And we take pride that anything that we do, you get the most use out of it.

We do this because we love connecting people, we love creating memories and relationships.

And whether that is a connection you feel towards a whiskey you have never tried or

maybe a whiskey you have tried before.

Whether you are learning about whiskies for the first time or you are a connoisseur, we

invite you to come out and engage with other whiskey enthusiasts.

To get a variety of different whiskies on your pallet.

This event is exclusive to just 300 people in attendance and we do it that way, (100

VIP and 200 General Admission), we have found that is the most optimal number, not only

for you to not have to wait in long lines, but for the brands that are onsite, to be

able to actually have time to engage and interact.

And this can be an educational experience.

It is not just about consuming alcohol and drinking as much whiskey as possible; though

we do want you to enjoy drinking whiskey during the event, we also want you to learn a thing

or two.

And that is why we restrict not only the tasting cups but also the attendance.

We are so excited to have some really great brands coming out on the day.

The event is on March 16th or March 17th, so check out the website (BeSocialScene.com)

for more information and please come warm up as we get ready for Spring at the St Pat's

Whiskey Festival.

Once again, this is William with Social Scene and before signing off, letting you know,

you can always save with Drink With Friends, we are all about bringing people together,

discount code DWF will allow you save 20% off your ticket or your extra tastings.

We encourage you to save, join us, savor and we will see you in March for the St Pat's

Whether on vacation

or traveling for business,

hotel guests depend on

the ability of lodging managers

to ensure they have a pleasant stay.

Lodging managers have a lot to do,

such as inspecting guest rooms

and public areas, training staff,

and taking care of bookkeeping.

When a plumbing disaster occurs

or bad weather causes cancellations,

these managers keep lodging operations

running.

There are different types of lodging managers:

general managers oversee the work

of several department managers…

revenue managers focus on

managing finances,

including room sales and reservations…

while front office managers

coordinate reservations

and direct front desk staff.

Convention service managers

represent all hotel services

from accommodations and catering,

to providing screens and projectors

for groups organizing conferences,

meetings, and special events.

Managers may be on call 24/7

and may have to work evenings,

weekends, or holidays.

They work at lodgings ranging from

hotels with 1,000 guests…

to exclusive resorts…

to intimate bed and breakfasts,

remote country inns, urban youth hostels,

and casual camps.

Some lodging managers live on site.

Many applicants qualify

with a high school diploma

and several years' hotel work experience,

but most large hotels expect applicants

to have a bachelor's degree

in hospitality or hotel management.

Hotels with fewer services

accept applicants with an associate's degree

or certificate in hotel management

or operations.

Computer and Information Research Scientists Career Video - Duration: 1:21.

Developing the tools and

technologies of tomorrow…

requires hard work today.

Computer and information research scientists

invent new approaches to computing

technology and improve the

use of existing technology.

They study complex computing problems,

and are often at the forefront of

solving them for business, science,

medicine, and other fields.

These research scientists build algorithms,

or sets of instructions that

tell a computer what to do.

They may use an algorithm to

develop a new computing language,

create programs to control robots,

and simplify the ways people

interact with computers.

Their work often leads to

technological advancements,

such as better networking technology,

faster computing speeds,

and improved information security.

In general, computer and information

research scientists work at a

more theoretical level than

other computer professionals.

Computer and information research scientists

work for the federal government,

computer systems design firms,

research and development departments,

and for colleges and universities.

Most positions are full time.

Information Security Analysts Career Video - Duration: 1:53.

As persistently as computer hackers

work to infiltrate secure networks,

information security analysts work

that much harder to keep prying eyes out.

Information security analysts design

and implement security measures

to protect an organization's

computer networks and systems.

Their creativity and innovation continually

expand as the number and

complexity of cyberattacks increases.

In this field, it's essential to keep up with

new technology and preventive methods.

Information security analysts install

and operate firewalls, data encryption programs,

and other software, monitor their

organization for security breaches,

and even simulate attacks to

look for vulnerabilities in their system.

Their work is the opposite of hacking—

and security analysts need to know

how to break a system's defenses…

just as well as they know how to build them.

Information security analysts work for

computer companies, consulting firms,

or business and financial companies.

Most work standard full-time hours but may

need to be on call in case of an emergency.

Information security analysts typically

need at least a bachelor's degree in

computer science, programming,

or a related field, though some employers

prefer applicants with a

Master's of Business Administration

in Information Systems. As the field of

information security quickly evolves,

new specialized education and

training programs are emerging,

but having an ingenious streak will continue

to be a vital quality for these professionals.
